Title: Def Leppard + Extreme: Belfast, Fri 26 Jun 2026

Def Leppard
Extreme

Fri, 26 Jun 2026
Ormeau Park, Belfast

I appreciate they haven't put out a decent record in 30 years and they get a rough time from the real metal brigade - but they put on a solid show and still deliver a great performance. Been to their last 3 shows in Belfast - all stellar evenings, with decent support - and Viv usually gets them to dig out a deep cut like "Wasted" for his hometown crowd.

I'm a much bigger Maiden fan, but I always come away from a Def Leppard show feeling much better than any Maiden show I've been to - they've usually got a really great and well suited support act (Alice Cooper, Whitesnake, Cheap Trick, Thin Lizzy, Black Star Riders etc.), fantastic and modern stage production, great stage energy and the fans are just a little less idiotic than the Maiden ones. Going to their gigs has really made me into a fan.

Tickets were pricey enough though, £80 each plus fees - so £172 for two! I guess it's just the cost of doing business these days.

I'd give my right arm to see this lineup in Dublin

My gateway band, with patch jacket etc. Would be mad to hear Wasted or the like blasted out. I've never seen them and would like to, but travelling for them would be a stretch for me at least.

Quote of the year!

I'd be more interested in catching Extreme, too.

But I do remember watching Def Leps 'In The Round' VHS to death as young fella. So maybe there is a part of me that would like to see them too.

My fave band of my youth. Seen them a few times, set list is all stuff for the soccer moms to blast their beans along to.
If they played Desert Song or Fractured Love maybe
They have so many great tunes but alas I reckon it'll be a shirtless Phil Collen playing the intro to Photograph with that sex machine look on his face as usual

Love them though tbf

Definitely a bit of a bucket list band for me as everything up to Hysteria is class.
Was watching a recent Extreme set on YouTube a few months back and they were really feckin' good.

Desert Song and Fractured Love are my picks from that record two awesome songs that showcase a slightly darker side that I wished they'd explored more

Absolutely man, think the whole period around Steve Clark's end conjured up dark lyrics and great riffs. They are well able. I thought parts of Slang were brilliant. Ha I'd say they deny that album more now than their masterpiece of a first album

Never heard them before
They sound great!
I get the obvious Hysteria with them, but also Pyromania

Clarke was such a big part of the band
