Title: Paysage d'Hiver Demo's
Post by: ijnjnijnilijbibbjknkjbjkk on August 11, 2025, 03:56:48 PM
I'm very intrigued by this run of I-X demo's that apparently has an interlinked story of a journey that runs through them. The aesthetic is so fitting and engrossing before i've even jumped in.

I missed the boat with them (him) a few years ago when the name kept popping up but never bothered as i was into the more abrasive black death murk that was prevalent. I've been coming around to Evilfeast so that lead naturally to Paysage d'Hiver.

Many fans of these demo's (9.5 hours) on here?

Steineiche
Schattengang
Die Festung
Kerker
Paysage d'Hiver
Kristall & Isa
Winterkälte
Nacht
Einsamkeit
Das Tor

Great band, pretty much spotless discography as long as you are into this type of music.

His other project Darkspace is also pretty phenomenal.
Traveled to Italy back in 2007 just to see them. Was their 2nd gig ever back then.

Also there was an interview with him posted recently - his first video interview ever in 20 years of band activity, should be on youtube.

First track off Steineiche just ripped my face off. Vocals are like a whistling artic wind. Its in the same bracket as the Fleurety EP vocalist. Totally into this type of production and drum sound so a nice start.

Thanks, Ill check out Darkspace too and will probably end up at that interview after becoming a fan by the end of Steineiche haha. The atmosphere is excellent.

I have Marysville to bits and pieces of Paysage D'Hiver over the years but nothing grabbed me. I will give that one you mentioned with the Fleurety-like vocals a lash later.

Yep, definitely a band I like and own bits by, but very much have to be in the mood to listen to them. Very much a band I'd stick on late at night in the middle of winter.

It's funny, saw an interview with the guy recently on youtube (he doesn't do many) and I'm sure some of the cvlt elite would have ben shocked at how down to earth and smiley he was.

Have listened to the s/t and the most recent one. Enjoyable stuff when you're in the mood for it but not a mood I've found myself in much in recent years.

The self titled demo for me is by far the best with the first full length coming after it.

I tired to watch that interview when it came out a year or so ago but I find the guy that interviewed him insufferable. No doubt he will ruin this upcoming Thorns album.

For Darkspace I would recommend starting off with III I. Saw them myself two years but unfortunately all they played was the much slower material from the most recent release.

Who is the annoying interviewer? One of the Gjendød dudes is in Thorns so that bodes well. But there may be a few too many chefs in the kitchen so we'll see what happens.

It's the English guy with the comb over that's doing all the online videos with Snorre. Has his own Udemy black metal course. He has been discussed to death on the other forum in the Thorns thread. You will know who he is as soon as you see him.

The main fella from Whoredom Rife is also involved in the new Thorns album now as well.
