My first time hearing these dudes from Finland. They have released two albums themselves it seems and this, the second one, is being sold through Werewolf Records. I'm hearing loads of stuff in the mix from Viking Bathory to Obtest to Wotan to, perhaps, Sabbat (Japan). It's familiar and refreshing at the same time and I'm only halfway through.

Interesting stuff. Oddness in black metal is a necessity for me these days.
Yeah but riffs are essential too and this ticks the boxes nicely.
Fuck it, CD has been ordered. Been enjoying this the past couple of nights so it's worth a purchase 8)
On the to-do list. I like the aesthetic from first glance on metallum and the 4 bands in the cauldron you mention above. Interesting mix.
www.werewolf.fi has a great 1990s dark web vibe to it. Could grab an AK off it.
Fuck, this sounds great. Gonna lash in a CD order too.
CD landed in the post this evening. It looks great I think. It has a minimal but hands on DIY feel to it that appeals to me and suits the rough edges of the music. Looking forward to giving it some proper attention 8)
Edit. The credits mention Viking era Bathory and an artistic/ cultural movement called "jugendstil" but this line gave me a smile and made me think of the humour of Malokarpatan:
"Hearsay stories about an old abandoned house with green roofs and yellow walls next to where I live".
I knew I wouldn't regret buying this CD :)
I am somewhat obsessed by this album, which is nice as I rarely find myself so enamoured with new bands these days. Having the CD and being able to listen to it through good speakers as opposed to listening through the phone is bringing out so much more from the production. The run of songs from track six to eight is pure magic. The final song is particularly special. It puts me in mind of Harvestman- shamanic electronic ambient? Something like that.
In general, the viking era Bathory is not something I'm arsed with. Never went passed Hammerheart and have no interest in doing so but this sounds interesting.
I think that Viking Bathory is an ingredient here, a big one, but it's not the whole picture. The dude brings his own unique character to the song writing and touches on a few different styles.
