Shame the support isn't Gojira or such like the cancelled COVID date but sure to be a good show anyway
Drug Church are pretty solid - they'll be lost in a venue that size though.
Let's go, the London show (despite being in a big field) was brilliant two weeks ago.
Don't see them selling out straight away but already ticketbastard has listings for 4 different presales before general sale.
You'd be sick of that shit.
Yeah, promised the daughter I'd bring her next time they came here, absolutely do not have the cash at the moment to be dropping what's inevitably going to be 150 if not more for two tickets next week. Fingers crossed it doesn't go straight away.
I don't think it will. Maybe the floor might go quick, but it'd be ok I'd imagine. Slightly less panic than NIN for which you could've gotten any ticket you wanted by the week of the show.
Defo not going to sell out right away but standing might go quick.
The last few shows in the 3 Arena always seemed to have a pile of tickets for face value or cheaper in the week leading up to the show, I'll probably just wait for that to hopefully grab one
Is Stephen Carpenter back touring with them again?
Tickets from €69 / €79 / €94 plus fees
I'll have to get to this. Mad to see them get to 3 arena size really
Where they supposed to play the 3arena with Gojira a few years ago or did I dream it?
A Monday :'(

Nah, he's still out - just won't get on a plane (or a boat) - see the recent Zane Lowe interview where he talk about it. Worth a watch just for the awkwardness, honesty and lack of chemistry between the 4 guys.
I'm in 2 minds about this, seen them a fair few times - but their newer material doesn't get me excited, the whole Carpenter not touring outside the US thing is annoying and the way they just dropped Sergio Vega during the Pandemic just doesn't sit well with me... but it's likely gonna be a decent production going by the latest US shows.
In the 3 Presale thing now saying not enough tickets to fulfil my request (A whole two tickets) - horseshit.
Ticketmaster always does that shite during presales broke my heart getting Metallica ones.

Yeah, I got in at 9:05 and nothing was available
I signed up to the artist mailing list and got a code sent to me and was able to get 2 no problem. Not sure if there'll be any left now but worth a shot. You can unsubscribe from the mailing list after so you're not getting a load of junk sent.

Got standing tickets for 86euro.
There was one small seating block for seated tickets on teh pre sale so I reckon it's butchered up between the 5 presales.

Got one eventually on 3 Presale thanks but saw that the MCD presale has much more available
Artist code anybody?
Artist mailing list code is MYMIND.
Herself grabbed tickets for Berlin. Probably spend the same in 3 days in Berlin as I would in Dublin.

Got standing with the above link just keep refreshing and you will get one.
looks like there was quite a run on these this morning, standing is sold out and only very expensive seated tickets left
Fuck it. Didn't get one, horseshit. Seen them plenty of times anyways. If it's anything like NIN there'll be no shortage of resales

Banking on the resale myself but also thinking of the Birmingham gig, looking at how close it is to the airport
Officially sold out going by MCDs socials so resales in a few months.
Jesus how did this sell out, arevthry really that big a band? I actually never listened to them
A band I never listened to, didn't realise they were that popular!.I can remember buddies going to see them in the SFX years back, late 90s I'd say.

I was wondering that myself but they've apparently blown up the last couple of years with the younger crowd
I've seen them every time they've visited. Find it hard to believe, they're big alright but never would've imagined they'd shift that many tickets and so quickly but there ya go!
I was at the SFX gig. 96 or 97-ish? Twas grand. Not mind blowing by any stretch.

I'm not a fan of Deftones at all but one of my friends is big into them. He didn't get a ticket in the pre-sale because he didn't fancy going to Dublin on his own of a Monday. Then one of the other lads said he'd go - they had missed the pre-sale at that point and then couldn't get a ticket on Friday.
Met these same two lads for pints on Saturday and I, like other posters, was stunned to hear that Deftones had sold out the full-sized(?) Point.
My Deftones-loving pal then told me that the band are massive on TikTok apparently - which he discovered while investigating how in the name of fuck Deftones could sell out the biggest venue in the country. None of us use TikTok so we weren't sure how this would equate to these sorts of ticket sales.
I would have thought that, even at the top of their game, Deftones would have been playing places like The Ambassador or The Olympia.
Mind boggling really. Last time out was two nights at vicar street. They've hardly had a slew of hits since, even the tik tok thing for me anyway wouldn't equate to a sold out 3arena
Never seen them live so looking forward to the gig but was pretty shocked like others to see it sold out. Pantera tickets were still available on the day and i was at NIN which clearly wasn't sold out. Deftones are a decent band but there best work is well behind them in my opinion.
Korn just headlined Download and Limp Bizkit are now a stadium act so I shouldn't be surprised.
Also the sales of everything have been mad since covid, I reckon if I announced a night at the 3 arena with my tin whistle and slapped on 5 FOMO-inducing exclusive pre-sales even I could shift a couple thousand tickets.
The Irish Examiner i think it was had an article recently about people spending at least a grand on year on gigs as "it's a great night out". They type of people who turn their back on a band and climb on their partners shoulders for a photo for their Instagram.

I wish I only spent €1,000 a year on gigs
Deftones have been on the way up for a while now add to that the fact the hardly play here you get a sell out (Vicar Street was almost a decade ago). MCD et al. seem to have an opinion a band plays here once an album cycle and that is your lot
I don't get it, like I love them but don't see how they have such mainstream appeal (Mars Volta and Tool are two other bands I love but don't get how they are as popular as they are).

The people interviewed weren't necessarily music fans. They are event junkies. Obviously it's good to see tickets sold but nothing worse than standing next to dickheads who have no interest. Give me smaller venues any day of the week and you avoid that nonsense.
Played the SFX in January 98. I remember Around the Fur being on top of the Soundcellar Top Ten for a good few weeks on The Metal Show. Would happily go see them as I've always liked them although AtF was the pinnacle for me.
98! It was a very ordinary gig, I thought. And I quite liked them back then, even if Around the Fur was less exciting to me than Adrenaline.

And thanks to that top ten I pretty much had the whole album taped😂
JK ON DEH RADIO:YOU DA REAL MVP!
I find them a very hit and miss band in all honesty. Where they started to spread their wings artistically they kinda lost me, bar a few tracks. Ko Noi Yokan?? is excellent though.
Loved their SFX and vicar St gigs too.
The Ambassador gig was pretty good too from what I remember.
Was the same weekend as Day of Darkness.

And Witness too. Recall getting stuck in the middle of bunch of D4 gobshites buying their slabs of Heino in the offie up the road from the Ambassador.

It was in The Irish Times - I was going to put the article in the Pet Peeves section yesterday.
Actually...
I wish we still had Day Of Darkness.
Ah I fuckin love em and my mate dropped the lovely surprise on me the other evening that he'd picked up two tickets and that I can have one!
Happy fuckin days :)

Now you don't have to simply remember.
It was great! Was there myself and this only turned up on YouTube a couple of weeks ago
I have two tickets to sell for this. Digital tickets so the buyer will need a Ticketmaster account. Pm if interested.
Quick turnaround due back here 6 months after for an outdoor show in Kilmainham it's been announced.
August 25th, Idles in support.

That artist presale thing do I just sign up to the regular mailing list on the official site or do I have to do something else?

Just the official site.i did that for the 3 arena gig.
Nice one cheers for that. If I score a ticket for this I won't bother with the 3 arena one because as much as I'd like to see them I wouldn't go twice in 6 months

I'd prefer the new gig.Idles are a band I've wanted to see for awhile but I'll stick with 3arena.

Yeah, Idles are fantastic live, if not quite as gripping on record. Snagged a ticket this morning, far handier for me given it's 10 minutes walk from my gaff and isn't the 3 Arena.
Thank Christ I got paid today though. 97 for standing anywhere is bullshit.
Got the ticket very handy this morning grand job. Never heard a note of Idles, must rectify that
Only seen the Kilmainham gig after checking here. Idles are a great support. Not bothered getting a ticket. If I go it'll be easy enough get one the week of the gig.
Thanks for the presale link Halo, got a front standing ticket there now. I would have gone to the 3 Arena gig but didn't know the support acts but Idles are great live, saw them in Vicar Street touring their 2nd album,.

MCD Pre-Sale link for tommorow morning.
Drug Church 7:00pm
Denzel Curry 7:55pm
Deftones 9:15pm
Unsurprisingly loads of resales available
Looking forward to it been listening to the new album a lot
Plenty off the new album in the set, fairly unusual for a band at this stage of their career to release an album that holds up to their best work.
Drug Church are class, if you can make it in early enough.
Great set from Deftones.
New material is fantastic live and the 'koi no yokan' material was the highlight for me.Tempted to get a ticket for the gig in August now.Chino has some energy for a man in his 50s.
Denzel Curry was class
Quote from: DISRUPTER on February 16, 2026, 11:49:38 PMDenzel Curry was class
Wouldn't be my bag.i'd prefer to be having an actual curry than have to watch his set again. But in saying that he got a good reaction and alot of the crowd loved him.
Was there an option to have a curry instead of watching his set?
I know when Seal plays he gives audience members the option to eat a seal instead of watching him perform. Meat Loaf does the same.

Given the location there was only bottles of overpriced coddle available.
Missed Drug Church but from what I heard they sounded like a blend of Feeder and Sum41 so don't think I missed out on much.
Denzil Curry....yeah....as said a section of the crowd seemed to enjoy it a lot, probably only there for him, I guess as a novelty once off I was amused but yeah...no, not for me
Thought Chino was shaky for the first song but settled well after that, thought they were really good overall, maybe a bit heavy on the latest album which I've grown to like compared to the previous 2 before that. Enjoyed it, thought they put on a good show and the visuals were decent. If I was to nitpick - Chino needs to calm down on the whole "YEA! WOO!" he relies on it to fill in the gaps...and it slightly irks me when he slowly slides into the next singing note and then ends up off beat by 1 or so ;D

He was entering Ric Flair territory with the "woo".Good description of drug church, essentially the same riff rehashed for 10 or so tunes.I've seen worse openers and they had a decent crowd but wouldn't be in a rush to see them again.
