Probably pointless even mentioning this gig because I couldn't get a whiff of a ticket in either the pre-sale on Wednesday or again this morning.
I assume they'll announce either a second date or move to a bigger venue.
Usual bollix on Ticketmaster now too - verified resale at grossly inflated prices.

Dunno where they could move it to - 3Arena isn't available on this date, this venue is booked the day before and after.
I was able to get a ticket in the presale but no chance at standing. This will be a fun show - I really hope it doesn't get rescheduled to another date at the 3arena - it would be shit to see this crowd there. I'd take a few nights in Vicar St or the Olympia however but they'd have to move the dates around.
What I said a in my first post was not strictly correct. I was hoping to get a standing ticket - no dice on both tries.
Decided that I'd just take a seat but I could only get one that looked to be the side and behind the stage. Back row of either Block H or Block R.
I've never been to the National Stadium so these could have been primo seats!
But I doubt it.
Only wanted standing ticket, tried both days of the pre sale and not a chance so went into the general sale with little to no hope but managed to get 3 standing tickets straight away no issues.
Mate rang me 10 seconds later to say he was able to get 3 too! He was able to sell them on after about 30 seconds of being up on tm resale for face value so all good, the demand is crazy.
Vicar Street would be class. Not sure how accurate it is but seen someone post on reddit that MCD don't run shows there. John Bishop is in the 3Arena 3 nights over halloween so that wont happen.
Hope they don't move dates around, can't see it tbh. Should be a great show, High Vis are class too.
Is is basically run by Aiken Promotions so guess MCD would prefer to avoid using it (it's basically the same size as The Olympia so I'm sure they don't see that as a problem)
Got standing in the presale so hoping it's not moved :D

That's pretty much the view of the stage from Block H

I went online three minutes after the presale started, and the only tickets left by then were in the upper blocks which I wasn't bothered about. Tried again a minute later and it was totally sold out.
Date changed to the 1st of November, moved to the 3 arena

Standing only show apparently. Don't know what that means for the people who bought seats for the national stadium and actually wanted to sit. Presumably there'll be a block of seats open for people who want/need it?
Yeah, I'd say there will be seats available for people who genuinely need one for health reasons.
That's why I like the National Stadium — you can see everything clearly from your seat. Looks like I'll have to give Mono a miss now :(
I know they will sell a load more tickets, but this would have been much better in any of the smaller venues for multiple nights instead of this barn. I think the 3Arena is fine for bands that have a bigger production or more elaborate staging but not this.
Hopefully we'll get an opportunity to catch them at a better venue when they're not as hyped as now. It's similar to the Deftones - loved seeing them in Vicar St, the Ambassador or the SFX but don't think they are suited to this venue.
Did anyone go to this? As much as I would have preferred another venue, it was a good show. Turnstile had the place heaving.
I was very very far above the median age of the audience! Young crowd. I didn't see any dickheadery and it seemed like a crowd of decent skins. Jesus, I felt so old.
High Vis and Gurriers were alright. For a "hardcore" band, High Vis sounded more like an indie rock band to me though. They were decent all the same.
Glad I went - haven't seen the Point with an energetic crowd like that in many years (mostly end up seeing legacy acts there I suppose).
I saw footage online and as you said; it's a long time since I saw the Point going off like that.
My friend was there with his 2 kids ones a teenager and the other is 24.
He has retired from any sort of pit action but he told me his kids went bananas but in a sort of ecstatic way.
I don't get the appeal with them at all.
Was a great gig. The place was nuts the entire show but a real friendly vibe.
Was the complete opposite for High vis. A couple of fights broke out beside me. Gobshites throwing fists and elbows all around.
Gurriers were definitely worth getting their on time to see as well.
Was a brilliant gig and the whole vibe around the place was great. No dickhead behaviour and just good fun
Yeah a mate of mine who'd seen Turnstile years touring Time & Space said they were class last night. Definitely prefer the earlier stuff myself.
Great gig. Daniel Fang is a beast
I was down the back near sound desk and there seemed to be more (ahem) middle aged folk like me back there, more than I thought actually.
Their heavy stuff is pretty great, nice riffs, really got the crowd going.
Showing the mosh pits on the big screen was a nice touch too, don't think I've seen that before.
