fucking delighted for ye Matt, but you knew that already.
Cool video too
Art and track are lethal.
Is it still the original three + Tom?
Nice one, great news sounds quality!
Missed that it was coming out on Relapse, very cool.
Fair play to ye. 🤘
Cheers lads. No, Squigs. Paudie left a few years ago. New bassist Fed. Plays in Akercocke and has been in a heap of bands over the years.
Congrats on hooking up with Relapse.
Sounds lethal, as always.
Deadly.
But when can we expect a version of the video with Ray telling one of his stories over it? :)
 It'll be a bonus feature. It'd actually work well.
Savage stuff.
Deadly!! Well done lads, was not expecting relapse of all people to put it out, that's huge!
Sounds deadly as always. Looking forward to the album.
Brilliant, the vocals are filthy as always.
Fantastic news, fair play on a great achievement in fairness to ye all :abbath:
Sounds class.
Also adds to my theory that metal bands with a one word name starting with M are disporportionately savage compared to any other naming convention :abbath:.
That's unreal! Well done
Very unnerving track, in a positive way!
Congrats
Love the Irish landscape, & the dread 8)
there's some fucking weird comments on Youtube. "If Jordan Peterson was a death metal band".. "Is that David Myatt"..there'll be a Quietus expose about how Malthusian are neo nazi Mens Rights Activists any minute
Pardon my ignorance actually but where was that filmed?

The album is being released on 8/8 so they must be Nazis now.

Knowing that I share a common interest with someone who would write "If Jordan Peterson was a death metal band" is a real tough pill to swallow.

A Benzo, of course.
Fair play to ye Matt, good luck with it
 That comment is a real head scratcher alright. No idea what it's supposed to mean. Any association with that snakeoil salesman is a bad one.
Had to google David Myatt there. Again, very strange.
Video was shot in the wilds of Mayo. Old Head Beach and Doolough Valley.
Absolutely horrible song and video. Superb stuff.
Well done lads, well deserved. Hope it goes well for you on Relapse, looking forward to getting my Malthusian socks and g-string.
Where did you record it? The guitar sound is great.
Malthusian mugs for all :abbath:
Recorded it with Greg Chandler (Esoteric) in Priory Recording Studio, Birmingham.
Great going lads!
Congrats on the Relapse announcement Matt. Songs sound savage. Yogi Keenonhang doing a fine bit of videoin'.
Would happily drink out of a Malthusian mug. My Darkthrone one needs replacing.

Across Tet's
The Mother's Tae.
New track is pure excellence. Bit of a Demilich vibe?
"Across Deaths" is a modern masterpiece
and I can't wait for the upcoming album.
Great to see another Irish band making a bigger mark on the metal landscape.
Looking forward to it
Hope it does massive for ye, Lads.
Sounds great, cant wait to hear the whole album.
Once again, cheers lads. Any Demilich vibe is coincidencental. I like them but not to a point of them ever influencing me.

Demilich comparison was purely a mental crutch for myself. You sound nothing like them, but when I try to put in words Your style of building guitar parts I end up with something like: two or more tracks seemingly going into the same, general direction, but meandering around each other and even when approaching unison at moments, there is usually a twist.
Was only looking into picking up the demo on vinyl last month as I only had it on tape... Looks like there will be some re-issues coming right?!
Only got around to this yesterday, it's lethal, looking forward to the full album.

Ya, Darragh was talking to the pressing plant today. No date yet but they're in the que.
Absolute massive fairplay for signing to Relapse! Love to see it!
How long was the process with signing to them? Did you approach them or they approached ye? I've heard they're great with how they treat their bands for the size the label is
Dunno how long the process was, a month of back and forth maybe!? They initially got in touch in 2013 before the demo was fully released and were in contact a few times over the years since but given it meant leaving Invictus we decided against it. Getting older so said fuck it for this one and we'll see how it goes.

Sounds great. Even though there's lots of changes/shifts it seems like a more direct approach to these ears - will have to listen in context of the full record, looking forward to it.
will ye have copies for sale yerselves Matt?I realise it'll be everywhere cos Relapse, but I'd rather give ye the money directly and Im away the week of the release gig
Ya, we'll have copies, Jamie and Darragh is getting some.

All songs work within the album as a whole and were written with that in mind. Def a more direct approach to our previous stuff but on a wider scope altogether. I obviously can't be objective.
What albums were an influence during the synthesis process of the writing could you say at all? Hard to have a clear view in retrospect after being immersed id say but ill ask. For example, i liked how AA said he had 3 albums in mind before making the Verminous Serpent LP.
What albums did Alan say he had in mind for VS?
At this stage there is nothing I have in mind when writing for Malthusian outside of it being riffs I think work. I do think of the attack or the flow of the song and work from there. Just keep building.
Ok, cool thanks.
oh it was 7 i mean haha....
Rotting Christ - Satanas Tedeum
Master Hammer - The Mass
Varathron - Genesis of Apocryphal Desire
Samael - Medieval Prophecy
Order from Chaos - Stillbirth Machine
Blasphemy - Fallen Angel of Doom
Sarcofago - INRI
Right, interesting, but that wasn't something that was discussed amongst the 3 of us at the time. It took it's own shape from Beherit being mentioned initially. Anyway, that's not the topic at hand.
Ferocious song, particularly the hectic opening, but I also like the slow building mid-section which calls a little bit to Estoric in the layering up of the vocals. The production is huge and deep. Something tells me yee weren't skulling cans during the recording of this one
Jaysus that's a fecking whopper of a tune, fair play. The clean madman vocals around the five minute mark were unexpected and fucking class.

 Myself and McKenna drank solidly for 10 days with whiskey rearing its beautiful/ugly head a few times.
Cheers anyway, lads. Few new twists and turns in this one and I love it.
Fair play!
Final third portion of that new one is unreal. Everything is perfect. BTH is my favourite so bit of a throwback to that.
Cleans remind me of parts of Coven... by CDG. Looking forward to this even more now!

Yeah, spot on. Loved that u-turn too. Deadly track. :abbath:
Good song, this stuff is heavier than I listen to these days, but really like this. Any Dolans date?
New tune really hits the spot..class stuff.
Tom's solo is so dark and menacing in that song. Really good.

Deadly. Pure CdG - Coven buzz off that madman section alright.
Cheers lads. In my defense, I never really got into Coven and that section was off the cuff but the similarities were pointed out to me afterwards
Brilliant stuff, can't wait for the whole package!
Wait, so what you;re saying is that talkie bit is you and not Brian Blessed?
We did every other line. He supplied the Old Speckled Hen.
I thought I could detect a bit of poultry on the mix.

Unreal, can't wait for this one. I seem to have lost my copy of Across Deaths too in all the travelling so will have to do a double order once I'm done with the move.

Only got around to listening to the second track today, fuckin savage stuff. Very interested in the full release now.
Out today.
Plenty of meat on the bone here. I'll grab a CD at some point so I can give it proper, focused attention, but from the few listens I've given it so far I think it sounds mighty. The production works really well.
Where's the best and quickest option to get this??
Invictus.
I'll definitely grab a copy, while searching for convenient options it's available via Amazon next day delivery. I'll stick to Invictus. Again sounds fucking deadly.
"Between Dens and Ruins" is a whirlwind of destruction, fucking beauty to all involved :abbath:
Had a listen through on the way to work, great album... Will need to listen through a few times to get a grips with it but straight away very powerful and cohesive
Best production and execution out of the other albums for me. Really enjoy it. The 15 minute track is immense. Definitely will take a few listens but sounded great in the car.
Have it on there now, top class!
Glad to see it has arrived in the rebel county :abbath:
I hope you make the drummer play the 15 minute Amongst the Swarms of Vermin at the Lost lane gig haha. Probably my fav so far after Eroded into superstition but its a lot to digest so ill let it bludgeon me whilst driving around Connacht this week.
Arrived today, great package altogether. Hats off to all!
Cheers.

We will. The ideal setting to experience it in.
Just listening to this now in the apartment before I head to see The Melvins, savage stuff. See Thralls of Metal done a review of it too lol.
Been listening to this all week in the gym, what a beast of an album! Hearing new cool parts each listen. I need to grab the LP asap. Almost sounds like a different band next to Across Deaths. Not that I mean it's any better or worse, this one just seems more straightforward(if you can even call it that??), but I suppose anything would against the insanity of AD.
The vinyl of this has been sitting there for a week, only getting a chance to sit down and have a look at/listen to it now. Hadn't realized until seeing it in the inlay that you're sole vocalist now Matt. Fair dues: ya wouldn't know it just listening :abbath:
There will be backing vocals live but it was easier for me to do it in the studio.
Bringin' the aul gospel choir in, yeah?
Needed for those angelic harmonies.

Whoa,.that new vid for Delirium is a wretched portrayal of Croagh Patrick,.powerful stuff.
See this made Ryan's top 5 on Sea of Tranquility YouTube channel, kudos
Good stuff. Didn't see that.

Ta, it's great footage. Video was done a few years ago so that is more rerelease but good to get more people to see it cause I think it's great.
