@bloodincantationofficial will hit @academydublin on 7th October alongside special guests @oranssipazuzu & @sijjin_official 🔥
On sale Friday 9am 🎫
Fucking delighted!
Yeah and same week as Testament & Obituary :abbath:
Fantastic
Just seen them over in London on Sat and they were absolutely unreal. Cannot wait to see this again! Makes a Tues back after a long weekend of gigs a bit more bearable.
Woohoo!!! The fucking price of the service charge though!
Oranssi Pazunu are mental too. Bring ear plugs
Ooh that's a lineup.
That's as good a lineup as I've seen in aeons.
Fuck yes 8)
They were off the scale over at Incineration fest!
Sijjin supporting a real bonus!.
All three bands are class, to be fair!
What a line-up.
Doesn't look like this is Absolute in full which is great considering how overrated that album is. Would much prefer to hear the earlier material. See BI a few times before and they are very good live. Sijjin should be great must get that new album.
Ticketmaster saying the presale is ongoing. What presale is that? MCD don't have it listed on their site and I don't think DME run that sort of thing, do they? Not panicked about getting a ticket, just wondering moreso.
Niiice line up!
Definitely going to this, though I already have tickets for Testament/Obituary, Primordial and Megadeth for October. Anyone know a good divorce lawyer?
Tempted by this. Absolute Elsewhere in full would be a no-brainer, but either way it should be good.

Sumerian Promises from a few years ago is pretty decent.
The new one sounds like Xentrix with harsh vocals, really changed direction.

Yes thanks also mam
Ya cheers for the link :abbath:
This is gonna be savage
Deadly man, thanks for that!
:abbath:
Ta for the link! Got sorted too!
Very much looking forward to this. Absolute Elsewhere is one of my favourite albums from last year and the live footage I've seen since they started touring it is cracking.
Sijjin and Oranssi Pazuzu I've seen before, with OP being particularly class. Was dying for another opportunity to see them again.
Thanks for the link, got a ticket there this morning.
Ticket sorted. Cheers for the link.
Nice one; ticket sorted
Looks like everyone is going to this one so. :abbath:
Saw Oranssi Pazuzu doing their latest one a few weeks ago and they were absolutely unreal. Likely gig of the year candidate here. Don't wanna wish the year away but really looking forward to this now.
Got my ticket this morning, didnt even spot the presale. Going to be unreal!
Must give Sijjin another go. Fine record, but ordinary enough DM when compared to anything Necros Christos put out.
No dates here in Spain. Fuck it.

Will be hitting this in the name of metal and shouts

Gonna have to hit this as well.
apparently only 20% of tickets lefts for this
They should have had dynamic pricing and started the tickets at 250 euro. Everyone would spend half a day hitting refresh not to miss out
Thanx for the heads up keeper
They just announced a VIP package for this tour at 65euro (on top of the ticket)! Early Access, meet & greet, and some bits and pieces. I know bands need to make money but christ, everyone will be like Metallica next with multiple packages. Anyway I'm waiting for them to announce the 'Through the Stargate' pass so they can just teleport me into the vacuum of space after the gig.
Bands are trying to make money touring, what do you care if someone wants to pay for that experience? Does the existence of that ticket change the price of your GA ticket?
Imaging paying money to be seen in public with Paul Reidl's skullet.
The last European run was so busy for them them, they'd had to fly in their American merch guy to help out.
Good to see them doing well and it's not like Paul Riedl's gonna spend the money on a flight to Turkey to get the hair done with it.

It's how he communicates with the Aliens😂
His skullet is magnificent. His 'tache, less so.
Yeah they sure as fuck don't make it in record sales these days.
When I saw Revocation in 2023, it was €25 for a ticket. Also on the bill was Goatwhore, Alluvial, and Creeping Death. Four US bands in Dublin for 25 sheets. I'm no accountant, but I I don't think any of those boys were living the high life off that.
Revocation had a white long sleeve that was pretty cool. €40 quid... yeah fuck it, they're making more money off that t-shirt than my ticket.
Goatwhore are trending they keep popping up
DME just posted they're down to the last 20 tickets
Sold out now!
There was still a few in Sound Cellar today if anyone is looking

Coming home from Australia and would love to catch this while I'm home :abbath:
Really hoping Sijjin will be on before BI instead of the other band but my guess is Sijjin will be on first.
Has it been confirmed yet if this is the latest BI album in full or just a normal touring set?
I'd be fairly certain it'll be the full Absolute Elsewhere, seems to be what they've been doing on all the other legs of the tour

Usually the album, one from Hidden History or Starseed and Obliquity to finish.
Hopefully Sijinn are on first because that way I can have a pint across the road before Oranssi.
I really can't wait for this now!
What's the craic with getting up to the balcony area?,is it a case of first come first served?.
All the years ive been going to gigs in the place ive never been upstairs to watch a band!
Anyone can go up there as far as I know, there's another bar up there.
I was up there for Carcass the last time they played here.
Yeah first come first served for sold out shows there might be an armband or whatever so I'd get in early

Can't wait for this, seems to be a real buzz around the gig that I haven't really seen with anyone else for quite a while. Hopefully it'll live up to the hype and be one of those people are talking about for years!
Having seen both Blood Incantation and Oranssi Pazuzu in the last year, I'm fairly sure it will unless they totally drop the ball. Top tier bands.

Getting the pints in now. Yehoo
Had to miss Sijjin due to them being on too early. This will be my third BI show saw them touring the first and seconds albums. Watching the videos of the latest album tour a lot of the intensity they had live seems to be gone. Anyway we will see how tonight goes.
Ah lads. That was amazing.
Great stuff. Had to cut Blood Incantation prematurely short to get last train home, and missed first band. Blown away by Oranssi, and to my shame I've only given them passing attention on record. Absolutely a band I should love, in theory, but the attention span isn't great these days. That'll be rectified on the basis of that performance.
Class show alright. My first time watching a set from the balcony, the lights were class. Never heard of Oranssi before, fuck they nearly stole the show to be honest. Sounded like they were a fair bit louder than Blood Incantation no?
Blood Incantation were class, but I don't think the sound was as good as the other bands, from where I was standing anyway. Loud lead guitar, which is great, but I thought maybe the vocals and bass could have been louder. A minor gripe anyway, great performance and a fucking class buzz about the place. Wish I could do it all again tomorrow!
Had to leg it to Busaras straight after to catch a bus west for 11pm. Fucking pissing sweat 😂
Oranssi and BI were both on top form, had to run after "Giza" but thems the breaks. OP are one of a kind, love them. Last time I saw BI was just after Starspawn and they were ferocious, just 4 lads banging out the tunes. To see how they've grown tonight without losing the magic was very cool.
Sijjin can fuck off back to the bargain bin they came from, I don't care who's in them. Uninspired shite, zero energy, ideas or presence.
Oh ps:If Squigs is reading, I only realised about two minutes after that I'd not said hello to you!Apologies, I felt like a prick
OP were only ok I thought. Some interesting bits but a Lot of repetition. Guitarist on the right super annoying.
BI were phenomenal- I thought the sound was spot on but I was right up front.
Jesus fucking Christ, Oranssi my bollox. What the fuck is that fucking muck? Load of hipster fucking shite! Some cunt wearing a dress playing a keyboard and a prick with a Stratocaster mincing around the place. Fuck off!!! Fucking pretentious wank. BI and Sijjin were great.

Bonkers take. OP were unreal and the only downside was that I arrived to the venue 15 minutes late for their set. Tone and atmosphere was on point.
BI being great was locked in and, for me, the sound absolutely shat all over the sound for their Berlin show (never thought I'd say that about an Academy gig). Fantastic set too, can't believe they had time to whip out The Vth Tablet and Meticulous Soul Devourment. Someone mentioned that they lack intensity these days, that wasn't the case tonight at all.

No interest in them myself and Sijjin were on too early. I enjoyed BI but I still think 2016 was the best I have seen them. I know most won't agree with me but the slow bits on the new album are shite, way too pretentious they ruin the flow of it and they were even worse live but the actual metal bits sounded great.
Most won't agree with you because you're wrong :abbath:

Bang on, hipster nonsense - can't believe anyone entertained that. All performative posturing and zero substance, very emperors new clothes.
Blood Incantation were class. Great sound and performance, I might have flipped the set though - opened with the old tunes, quick break then rip through the newest album.
What was with the delay at that start of the Bi set?! A lot of fannying about and then starting 20 mins late... Was a pain, especially for people having to leave for transport etc.
Think there was a delay with the ferry over for the bands.
Enjoyed Sijjin/Oranssi. They're not for everyone but totally made sense to be on the bill between the Blessed Are The Sick worship & Synths
Thought Blood Incantation were brilliant, would definitely go again and with it selling out hopefully they'll be back on the next album, or even do a Belfast show or something if they have a gap in June.
I wasn't at this gig due to work commitments.
I can't understand the negativity for OP. The music is excellent. Valonielu is an amazing album and the subsequent relaxes are on a par with it.
Maybe slightly not suited to the bill? I'd listened to them beforehand and enjoyed but just thought it didn't translate to a gig.
Thought they were a good choice myself...obviously not dm like Blood Incantation but BI aren't exactly meat and potatoes and both have that 'experimental' vibe, as well as more than a few nods towards krautrock. Can see how some might dismiss them as a bit pretentious but I thought they were spellbinding, to use an equally pretentious and flowery description!!
Not to detract from Blood Incantation though, who were equally great. Glad I went now, as was seriously giving consideration to giving the whole thing a miss due to having to stand around for hours on a sprained ankle. Worth the discomfort in the end
Thought everyone so inclined on the board would have checked out Oranssi Pazuzu by now: never too late though! Valonielu or Värähtelijä best starting points imo, though they've not a bad release and they always deliver live (if you're into it). First headline show of theirs I saw would be one of my top 10 gigs.
Very jealous about Blood Incantation though. Saw a couple of clips filmed from the balcony and it looked and sounded immense.
There was another show afterwards outside on O'Connell St. 4-5 Gardai knocked the fuck out of a sasquatch type. Full force employed, including the old knee on the arm trick which looked sore. Only context I have is he came sprinting down the street trying to get away from them then attempted to get into the Mcdonalds there but door was locked. Tuesday night in Dublin.

Saw that. It was Burger King he was tyring to get into, I was standing in the middle of the place having a bit of grub when it happened. It seemed extremely excessive to me. It's not like he was a man mountain or anything. The special branch showed up as well for some reason, so he might have been some drug dealer or something. Or maybe they were all just having a slow night and decided they'd hockey some cunt out of it for the sake of it.
Sijjin were great, not sure if their set might have been cut short with change in stage times? Seemed to finish very quickly
Never listened to OP before despite meaning to check them out for years. Not really sure what to make of it, some parts sounded class, others just a bit of random keyboard bashing. Might check out an album or two and see how it goes
Blood Incantation were phenomenal, sound was good from where I was apart from the vocals being a bit low
QuoteIt seemed extremely excessive to me
Ah no, saw him sprinting away from the Gardai coming from the bridge, nearly took someone out of it while he was at it. Only he couldn't get into the building (and lord knows what havok would've ensued if he'd gained access) he would've been off. People would give out if the Gardai did nothing - I'd say job done, he wasn't training for the marathon, obviously done something. And he was a big bloke, there's a photo doing the rounds this morning.
Valonielu (or Kosmonument) would definitely be the best place to start with OP, I think. They got me hooked. I've not been as keen on the last few, but I thought they were superb last night. I think to call it hipster or pretentious is highly dismissive. The newer stuff is maybe a bit less riffy and requires more patience, which I don't always give it, but they're a total package.
First time seeing BI, thought they were incredible tbh. Sound was amazing, I don't know if I've ever heard DM sound so good in The Academy or anywhere, for that matter - the clean/heavy dynamic of the AE material might have assisted that, but even for the last four songs it was the case. I have enjoyed them for years, I thought AE was an excellent album, but last night really brought it all together for me - they're class. Top gig.
Up on the balcony, spied a lot of heads I've not seen in donkeys on the floor. Feels like a gig that if it was 15 years ago I'd still not be home.
No worries Jamie, you were being nabbed from every which way and I was gonna piss myself so we were just ships in the night
Missed Sijjin, no loss to me.
Sijjin were great!,OP aren't for me!,lasted two songs and fucked off around the corner for a pint.
BI; amazing!, what a show!
Gutted to have missed this, sold my ticket there last week. Seems like a fair few lads were in the same boat, just not able to make it work. Hope it was killer, looked like it. Glad it sold out so they have an incentive to come back!
Quote from: Pagan Saviour on October 08, 2025, 08:22:30 AMMaybe slightly not suited to the bill? I'd listened to them beforehand and enjoyed but just thought it didn't translate to a gig.
I reckon they were perfectly suited. Two bands pushing things forward, made total sense to me. That other shower there then opening to keep the meat and potatoes crowd happy. Well considered bill.
I can see how people would hate them though. Different strokes. Ain't nothing hipster about them though, they've been doing this a long time.
When BI mentioned about playing here 5 years ago was that the Limerick show he was about or were they suppose to play Dublin as well at some point?
Just the Siege, is my memory.
Well, I've no complaints anyway. Fantastic evening.
Landed in for the last few Oranssi Pazuzu songs. Had listened to a bit of them beforehand but not my cup of tea at all. Thought they came across better live than on record though.
Was up on the balcony for Blood Incantation. Thought the sound was immense. The set flew by. Really didn't feel like they were after playing an entire album in full! The Vth Tablet was fuckin ferocious.
Fairly shattered at work today. Getting too old for these cross country round trips

Did anyone do the meet and greet? Just curious if many ended up paying for it. To me they are bit early in the career for that type of thing it's more suited to the older / classic bands.
I'd say it may have been Century Media that might have suggested it to them. Probably covers some costs for bands too as touring ain't cheap nowadays.
In fairness to Paul I have seen some photos from the Bristol show were he was spotted at the back of the venue and he took photos with people. I remember when Obituary did the meet and greet here the time they played with FOH in Belfast people were trying to get non meet n greet photos with Trevor and he was having none of it  he didn't flat out say no to them but he kept pretending he was too busy.
Great set, saw them at Incineration and it was brilliant. Thought the sound was great where I was. Interesting to hear the first split second of Inner Paths play before they went into Meticulous Soul Devourment. Must have been a mistake but was hoping to hear that one.
Good to see a good turn out but a strange crowd where I was standing.
QuoteObituary did the meet and greet here the time they played with FOH in Belfast people were trying to get non meet n greet photos with Trevor and he was having none of it  he didn't flat out say no to them but he kept pretending he was too busy.
Moist behaviour.
In saying that I bumped into John the last they played here with Sepultura and he was more than happy to stop for a photo. I also remember Donald standing outside Temple Bar after the 06 gig for about half an hour chatting to people.
Paul was watching Siijin and OP from the side, saw one or two people asking him for a picture and he seemed happy enough to oblige.
Thought Siijin were okay, guitarist is great and some of intros/instrumental parts were cool, maybe they can channel that into some of the heavier stuff which was much more meat and potatoes.
OP were class, stupidly heavy, I can understand people not being into I though as they're almost skirting into noise rock or something rather than metal.
And Bİ ruled of course, sound, energy, presentation etc all class. They haven't put a foot wrong so far in their career really, you can only wonder where they'll go next.
OP were savage. The pairing makes perfect sense to me.
BI was another level. No real interest in listening to them but that was an incredible show. Fair play to them.

Lots of backpacks, lack of enthusiasm and chatting going on. Very casual for a death metal gig.
Given they've recieved notice in non-metal press there was always going to be plenty of folks who don't usually go to these gigs, or who are simply curious. Didn't find it that weird. What would have been weirder is if it had been entirely lether clad metalloids given the fucking Kvlt Police have an issue with them for not being underground enough any more. I definitely had friends who don't listen to a lot of metal there, who loved it.
It was an older crowd than I expected to be honest. A fair few "ah I was mad for death metal in my teens but it died in the 90s and sure jaysus, these lads are bringing it back" heads.
Yeah, I heard a beaut while passing the bar downstairs before OP that "Blood Incantation have come out of absolutely nowhere", :eyeroll: and no pun was intended I'm sure
I really enjoyed the gig anyway. Headed to the Oval Bar for OP though as they're not my thing at all.
Oh, and they can feck right off with the merch prices for BI
Didnt even look, but I bought an OP longsleeve and it was pricey. I figure the Academy take a chunk of the merch
Sijjin shirts were only 20, haven't seen them that low at a gig in a long time
Yeah Sijjin were charging only €20 for LP's also. I saw Jamie happy out with 3 of their records under his arm on the way out

What was strange about them?
Lots of backpacks, lack of enthusiasm and chatting going on. Very casual for a death metal gig.
Standing next to 2 young guys who looked very excited to be there, but didn't seem to get that wearing backpacks to a sold out gig is a fucking pain for everyone else!
I'm one of those auld lads Pentagrimes was on about  thought it was agreat gig, I caught half of OP's set and enjoyed it, I liked their use of electronics which added something different, Would I listen to them in the car? No but they were good live. I really enjoyed BI, great to see hear in full one of my favourite new metal albums of the last 10 years but I'm shocking bad at buying new bands albums but I have the house full of the latest releases from the old 90's thrash metal bands that I never listen to
Finishing with Obliquity was class, I'd definietly go to see them again. Off to see Testament and Obituary tonight, place will be full of auld lads like myself

Was expecting the prices to be higher in fairness. Still treated myself!
Yeah Academy take a cut.
Wasn't it Uncle Acid (or Green Lung?) who sold their merch from the van when they played there a few years ago to avoid the venue tax?

For reference, young man, I'm 48 years of age myself!

50 quid for a longsleeve is fair saucy!
Didn't like the faded looking tour shirt. All the normal sizes were sold out by the time I got so it's a moot point anyway
Enjoyed the three piece Sijjin. Early Vader vibe. I'd agree OP were a bit ott with the jc poses and the air guitaring pedal stomping keyboard parts. Still captivating though not hitting the highs they did supporting Sólstafir earlier this year in my opinion. Blood Incantation seemed like a retro experience altogether nailing the prog floyd meets DM thing as expected and I loved it. Can't say much more. Great line up and good atmosphere.
I flew from Spain for this cause I'm a spacer and pints with the lads like.
Sijjin and OP were both savage.
Blood Incantation were sublime. A band on top of their game, playing an album that's only a year old and already a classic.
I had a dose of Guinness arse the next day and a late flight, so I visited some of Dublin's free museums to take the occasional nasty shit.

Open the Stout-gate!
Hidden History Of The Human Waste
I watched the video for The Stargate again there, jaysus it's a mad thing. Never would have expected something like that to come from a death metal band (if you can limit them to that description anymore).

Paul asked for a few pics with myself and Gareth Quinn Redmond. He's a really nice guy.
Don't think I caught more than a song from Sjinn but OP and Bi were both class.
