Some lineup!

Well yeah, but Obituary here twice recently and Testament also, nice to see Destruction perhaps I dunno.
Instant buy for me, will watch all 4 bands. Saw that Testament are doing a Practice What You Preach set in the states this year, maybe we'll get something similar with this.
Class lineup but 87 euro plus booking fees?? 😱

€45 plus booking fees last time in 2020. €40 in 2018. They were both great package tours as well.

Fucking hell, a lineup like this is posted and the first response is somebody complaining. Lighten up Don!!
Complaints regarding ticket prices remain valid.
Wouldn't mind seeing Obituary again after the performance they put on at the Sepultura show last year. The pints of Murphys in the Olympia are rotten and it's really annoying that they won't let people leave and re-enter especially when you have big band bills like this as I would have no desire to sit through a Testament set just to see Obituary. We most likely won't find out who's on last until a few days before the show.

75 euro plus diesel plus tolls is a lot of money irrespective of how impressive the lineup is though......

no doubt mate...
No interest in Goatwhore, wouldn't mind seeing Obituary headlining and have never seen the other two so would enjoy those too, but the Olympia's crap for gigs, even on the floor and for that money plus associated fees and exoenses... nah.

It'll be Testament headlining
Obituary are good but 50 min set even if headlining I bet , same set nowadays really , 2 songs from Cause of death, one from Slowly
What does the €87 ticket get you that the €65 ground floor standing ticket doesn't?
Box seats?
I didn't think they sold them to the public - thought they were a guest only thing.
Probably just seats in front rows of the circle. They charge extra for the front rows now for all seats in the Olympia, it's the same with Saxon I think.

It's not my favourite venue, but I saw Meshuggah there a couple of years ago and it was excellent on the floor
I've only been on the floor twice - and one of those was seated, pure hell! - but didn't think much of it. The upper stalls aren't great either.

I was thinking that with them being the bigger band but they could also switch it each night which sometimes happens on these co-headlining tours.

Current setlist is pretty good, loads of CoD tracks

They are on a COD 35th anniversary tour with Terror , Nails and one other band.

I'd rather that lineup came here!
What's up with the stage invaders in Dallas just jumping off it like they were hopping off a wall, rather than launching themselves??
Only 5 CoD tracks in that set list. Is this the regular anniversary tour set list? Strange if so.
I'm going to catch the full CoD set at Maryland in a few weeks and make up for missing the original tour on my doorstep as a 15yo with no money.

As would I, Terror are always brilliant live. Nails are on fire and Obituary to top it off.
Spirit World and Pest Control are the other bands on the bill.
One of those latest Spirit World songs sounds like Wherever I May Roam on steroids.
Yep Nails due a date here. Looking it up now and am surprised how little they've ever toured Europe.

5 + medley of Chopped in Half / Turned Inside Out, that's almost 7 out of 9
Got a standing ticket there. Saw Testament in the National Stadium just before Covid hit back in 2020 and they were brilliant. Saw Obituary support Sepultura last year and really enjoyed them.

Ah, cool, I went straight to the setlist pie chart and it said 5.
Also got a ticket. Dear enough but I guess it is a co-headline in a smaller venue than last time Testament played here.
I wonder will they play Practice What You Preach in it's entirety like they are doing in America this summer. Not sure I want to hear the whole album but 3 or 4 from it would be good. Hopefully they don't play that ballad from The Ritual
That Ballad was one of the highlights of the last gig for me. I'd never heard it live before and that was my 5th time seeing them. Do I need to hear it again? Not necessarily, but I wouldn't be complaining because that solo is a fucking banger

Spirit World are absolutely awful. Cover art that looks like downloadable content for Red Dead Redemption and all the riffs pilfered from far better bands.
Goatwhore out, Nervosa in.
Just came here to post that. Goatwhore would have been a nice warm up the replacement looks like shite. Well at least it means another hour or so of pre-gig drinks.

Had a similar vibe before I saw them supporting someone in the Pint, fucking one of the best live bands around. Terrible name but cracking band, fucking savage live act.

It's the greatest of all time at being a whore
Why are Goatwhore no longer supporting?
Their Facebook page just says it's "due to unforseen circumstances", the sepculation is that it's the Acid Bath reunion that's put a spanner in the works.

Acid Bath are playing two days later in Toronto and three of the members are in Goatwhore.
I think Goatwhore supported EyeHateGod in Dublin last year, yeah they were v good live.
Few gigs I cant make this month just posted a standing ticket for resale for this on tmaster if anyone wants to grab it

Obituary were fantastic! Didn't see any of the others but Obituary... brilliant!
Ya, band of the night for me as well.
Obituary were great. That drum sound was fucking nuts!!! Testament were pretty fucking boring, but I wouldn't be a massive fan of them. Into The Pit was cool. I would have liked to hear more stuff from The New Order.
Had seen Testament in Germany last year doing a Legacy/New Order set so I suspected last night's gig would be light on material from their debut and sophomore and so it proved. Obituary were band of the night. It probably helped that is was predominantly filled with offerings from Cause of Death, surely in the top five old school death metal albums of all time.
I thought Obituary were fucking amazing, even better than their slot supporting Sepultura last year. I got goosebumps during the start of Dying. I was there to see Testament and though I really enjoyed them, Obituary blew them away. Was great to hear stuff from The Ritual and Low as they were the first two Testament tapes I bought as a teenager back in the 90s  I thought the two new somgs were very good live and I didn't think much of them when i listened to them on Spotify. Caught most of Destruction's set too and they were good, all in all a great night's entertainment.
Obituary are one of the best bands to ever do it.
Chuck billy saying it took them 4 years to come back when they were here 11 months ago 🤣
Could watch Obituary allday in all that haze and fog with no front light. Pure horror buzz.
Aye, it was pretty special alright, was watching up in the retirement home seats and it really had that misty graveyard vibe down there that suits the music so well. I have to say they were way better than my already high expectations, mesmerising.
Testament were on a hiding to nothing then but they opened well then lost me with the pointless inclusion of Trail Of Tears (yeah, I don't care how many slow moshpits you've 'whipped' up with that lads), like why not play The Ballad if you want to change tempo.
Electric Crown though won me around again, that really is a perfectly written track for getting things moving.
Nervosa gave it loads, decent enough, Destruction were grand but I'd still take any of the other German Big Four ,yes including Tankard, over them.
My ears were ringing last night, fuck that was loud.
Have to say I really enjoyed being an old cunt and sitting back upstairs with the posh bar within spitting distance. Great night and great value all in. E11.20 G+T's not withstanding.
I know Trail of Tears is a blatant Alice in Chains ripoff but as a massive AIC fan I've always liked it so was happy enough with them playing it though The Ballad or The Legacy would have been better options alright.

Good to hear Obituary were great again. I had completely written them off before those performances last November.
Yeah, the highlight of the night for me was when they hammered into the fast parts of Slowly We Rot, so much so that I broke into an unconventional bout of sitting down headbanging, a bald windmill sort of thing as I had the presence of mind to realise the traditional up and down manoeuvre would perhaps look like I was trying to gobble myself and there were kids around. Literally. In the old men's seats. I mean....c'mon.

Ah now, there's no such thing as writing off Obituary! They're always savage.
Disappointed to have missed this. When was the last time Obituary played here?

They opened for Sepultura just 11 months ago and did an Irish tour in Sep '23.
Not that long since they opened for Slayer either, was that 5 or 6 years ago? For an overseas 'underground' (wombling free) band it's mad that they're here this often.
Yep the slayer show was 2018 so you could've had all the obituary you wanted!

They've been class any time I've seen them
Thry dialled it in in Dolans they were better for Sepultura
