Fuck yeah cheesy David Vincent stage banter!
Awesome
Class, fairly sure when I seen Morbid Angel years ago Sandoval wasn't in the band so this is a deal breaker.

Yeah it was Tim Yueng on the Covenant gig.
Nice, didnt realise Sandoval was in the band, thought it was just Vincent and a few others. It's like the ship of Theseus at this point

isn't it just. At least I can say I've seen all the members play the material after this show anyway. So who is in actual Morbid Angel now? I seen a video and only recognised Steve Tucker. Trey obviously is not well. Is he done I wonder?
Charlie Koryn on drums. Dunno who is playing second guitar.
Saw them a few years back and there's several shows from the recent US tour on YouTube - it's all the classics you want, even including Terrorizer's Dead Shall Rise as well (which MA used to play at their shows in the early 90s). You sure as hell ain't going to hear these songs from Trey any time soon.

Surely Tucker has walked after MA dropped out of the US tour last year at the last minute - presumably due to Trey being fucked up. Couple of randomers on second guitar and drums - can't imagine they're on the payroll anymore.
I'd imagine Trey is very likely done - he's clearly not been in a very good place at all for a while now. I sure hope he's checked himself in for rehab after the last tour fiasco because I can't see him being with us much longer if he hasn't....

Think Koryn was just fill in for the last tour or two. Not sure if they actually have a drummer as such. Dan Vadim Von on second guitar - I think.
Haven't seen Morbid Angel since 2006 when they were touring the first four albums. I Am Morbid seem to be doing a better job than Morbid Angel these days, and there won't be any muck in the setlist, at least.
Eh, Hatework and arguably Caesar's Palace also.

There's some class drumcam vid one of the lads sent me a few months ago, Commando can still fucking go on the kit.
Hoping there's tickets going in a few weeks as the bills have the wallet in tears at the moment.

He has been doing a lot touring with Terrorizer over the last few years. He is still well able to play.
Yeah he made a hell of a recovery from his spinal surgery. Think he had the same disc herniation that Anselmo suffered from.
Hatework isn't the Mae West, I will admit, but there are some cool riffs in Caesar's Palace. The lyrics are a bit cringeworthy, I'll give you that much! Domination would be my least favourite of the first four, and I'd prefer FFTTF to it also. I've see the footage of Pete Sandoval, he can still play the stuff handy enough.
Yep, I'm of the same opinion. Lyrics are cuntish. Formulas is better.
I don't think they'll play the whole Domination album TBH, maybe 4 or 5 tracks.

They always do to be fair!
Tickets out now
This tour has started looking at the first few setlist's it's not Domination in full. 4 Songs from Domination which are the four best then a mix of songs from A-C and a Terrorizer cover. I was happy enough with Domination in full but the current setlist is even better. So basically it's a first four albums show.
Same as ,would have lapped up Domination in full but this is even better.
It's the least of the first four, still good though. Now a Blessed... in full tour, that'd be a different matter.
Yeah it is of course, I just have a liking for seeing albums performed in full but no matter, not complaining.

This is fuckin great!
Ive tried to buy tickets on TM but telling me 'couldn't find any result' , even though the gig is listed.
Me too, was lookin for one there - don't tell me it's been pulled?
Odd- It would have low availability if there was none left.
Seems glitchy as they are showing for me now.
Site is getting battered this morning with Deftones/Turnstile/Bob Dylan & the Metallica day tickets probably.
DME had a post up about it earlier this week on Instagram and H always calls out when something is close to selling out, which he didn't do, so I'm guessing that it's TM being shite as opposed to it being sold out.
They are available there now.
Looking forward to this now, anyone going?
Yup, heading down to have a look, anyone asks, I'm going to see Morbid Angel, not I Am Morbid, fucksake. At least I won't need money for a t-shirt

Unless they have some blessedly sick back prints like EXTREME TRIBUTES FOR EXTREME PEOPLE.
I Am Morbid is such a shit name, but looking forward to this though. Can't go wrong with a set of their first four albums
Yeah its a shit name, but id just about wear this.
Ive too just told people that have a passing interest in metal that im going to see Morbid Angel.
That's grand aside from the band name. Awful.
Not the biggest Morbid Angel fan but caught this at a festival in June and they were amazing.
Really looking forward to this, heard nothing but good things about I am Morbid live and its always great to gig with Zealot Cult!

Not sure how the rights over these things work, but what are the chances of some Morbid Angel vinyl at the merch?
Or t-shirts?!
Buddie saw them at Beyond the gates the other night said they were incredible!
I can't imagine they will be selling MA shirts if they have I am Morbid ones. Maybe Pete might have some Terrorizer merch for sale. I hate that 'Oh, oh, oh' Vincent does during Immortal Rites and looking at some recent videos he still seems to be doing it.

Does anyone have those photos that use be on the old forum I think it was Squigs that took them. They were from an MA show in London. Dave came out to a buffet with just a towel wraped around his head and waist and nothing else on not giving a fuck
Yep that was me, Glasgow 2008. Out he came in leather shorts and the hair in a towel  He was dead on to be fair, but looked like a doll about to settle in to watch the telly for the night.
That was the first night I met lots of lads off MI. Sharing a taxi with Ally Riplash who was producing quarter bottles of wine from every pocket, pouch, and zip on his jacket for the duration. A master at work.
I forgot it was leather shorts even better  . He does come across as someone who would be easily approachable. I would love to bump into him and Pete next week for a photo but probably very little chance of that happening.

I'd say he's pretty chill. Have seen him post on FB a couple of times that he's in a particular bar in Amsterdam that he likes if anyone wants to join him for a beer. He openly admits he was a dick back in the day but seems to have really copped on since (unlike Trey) - farms his and his wife's ranch when he's home!

That Covenant in full show will have been 11 years ago this December.
Really enjoyed tonight and they played my favourite MA song World of Shit. Couldn't hear Dave's vocals for most of the set but must have been where I was standing.
Sounded decent so. MA with Vincent were a bucket list band I'll probably never see now, this sounds as close to it as we're likely to see these days.
It was depressingly shit playing the best songs ever written.
All the same, there was 5 off Covenant. Still. It's not right.
Class gig!, another trip down memory lane!
I had to in the end!
One of the best death metal gigs I was ever at. Sandoval is a beast behind the kit, and Dave was on fire 🔥
Is it Trey has the rights to the name? (Morbid angel).

Erik Rutan has it made with Cannibal Corpse.

I assume Trey does own it and I can't ever see him giving it up. I don't think Vincent left on good terms and neither of them have ever spoken about it. It's 10 years ago this year that Vincent left MA.
Edit: Did MA play Ireland back in the McGonagle days or was the Covenant in full show the only time Vincent has played in Ireland with MA?
Saw this earlier rehearsal from 87 no Vincent or Browning.

They had Unleashed as support. It was a great gig. The Unleashed drummer wasn't allowed to travel at the last minute - visa issue or something, so the singer played drums while singing. Don't see that very often.
2 days off it being 23 years until the next time they played here with Vincent. The 2014 gig was on December 7th.

Great show, Morbid Angel were serious and had a great sound. Chapel of Ghouls was probably my fav of the night but it was such a solid set. Loads of young fellas crowd surfing, some with double denim 8) . The first two bands were really good too with that drum kit close to the front caving my head in.
It was a class gig all round, really enjoyed it. Didn't see all of Morbid, but they were unreal, the vocals on David Vincent are something else, and it was great to see Pete Sandoval battering away. Love the Academy, the perfect venue to see a gig like this.
