Title: Civerous - Maze Envy
Post by: Pagan Saviour on February 19, 2025, 08:07:32 AM
This on anyone's radar?

Great stuff altogether - serious wallop off it. And influences from all over the place, anything from Autopsy to progressive death metal, doom even some of the clean picked sections with Violin/Strings remind me of My Dying Bride or even the B'auld Malthusian.

That's pretty cool from that one song, the clean/violin section reminded me of something Steve Wilson would do moreso than My Dying Bride but I get the sentiment. Must give this a proper spin cheers :abbath:

Did give it a go when it came out. Must lash it on the phone when I'm out walking as I do recall liking it.

Yeah, had it in my Top Twenty for last year, they don't overdo the progressive elements like some do in the genre of late and I really got into it throughout the year. Of course it doesn't hurt that it looks sumptuous too and 'twas an easy decision to grab it on vinyl.

Yep. Definitely mentioned this a few times last year.  Great album, the debut is class too.
