I nearly got a Behemoth tattoo when I was 16. Glad I didn't.

The Shit Ov God? Seriously?
Nope, there'll be no getting past that, this won't be checked out ,let alone bought.

Lyrics are awfully edge-lordy. Adam must me over 50. There are a few good riffs in the track but other parts are meh.

Him and Benton are really still battering away at this lark eh?

Hopefully it's more The Satanist/Evangelion as the last two were a bit too by the numbers.

Still an entertaining band and put a fair bit into their gimmick, the production/videos /aesthetic never looks cheap like Dani Filth has a habit of doing.

Good awful band and an all round embarrassing cunt.

Absolutely - joke of a band. They put out some good stuff earlier on and The Satanist was ok for what it was.

Fuckin crap live too, like a pop show with hats outfit changes and most of the stuff is backing tracks. Completely bent.

Nergal is annoying alright. Comes across super desperate for fame.

Yep, ...Storming Near The Baltic is the business but I haven't much time for anything else

Grom is from the old stuff and worth a listen.

Not great, strip away the excess and it's practically nu metal. They're hit and miss anyway. I loved The Satanist and some.of the earlier releases (never paid much attention to the straight up black metal stuff, I should rectify that) but the post-Satanist output has been largely by-the-numbers.

Been meaning to pick up the first couple of albums but haven't got to it yet.

I had a read of the lyrics to the new song... Abysmal.

Actually yeah, I stand corrected, completely slipped my mind that one (few beers last night)

The "I loved you at your darkest" wasnt a great album title either but a good album.

I've no interest in ther early black metal stuff,or anything really over the last 10 years. Its their middle period that I love,Satanica,Thelema 6 and Zios are 3 unbelievable albums. They were a serious live force in that period too.

Having said that,I take them for what they are now;entertainment.if they were playing on my doorstep I'd go.

Couldn't stomach another show from them. Into gimmick metal territory.

Yeah, was right in the middle of that period they played Whelans, in 2004 or 2005..? And they seem still to get as much grace off the back of that period of killing it both in studio and live as any of the big four, etc., who similarly went on to fall off a cliff in terms of musical quality.

They don't play live. It's backing tracks.

Never got into them
Style over substance
Might try the early albums at some stage though

Anyone know where the room in the video is?

Yah that mid period was when they were at their best, from satanica to demigod. seen them play in nancy spains around 2004 i think and it was great. then seen them headline over at the gates and wolves in the throne room and they were embarrasing... totally lame and weak.

At least spinal tap knew what they were.

This band is now a parody of itself.

Shite.....

Bar the cringeyness of the song..it's the most nothing song I've heard in a while .no riffs , no anything..just plodding nonsense..at least cradle of filth will still bang out an ol riff through all the nonsense

Do they have backing tracks for vocals live?
All these latest albums have that layered vocal thing which has to be hard to reproduce at a concert.
Lots of make up and  wavy hands seems to be the order of the day.
It'll probably sell a load along with the merch.

Was at that Nancy's show (was it a few years earlier than 2004?). Was a stormer!

I fired on Grom last night but wasn't in the mood. Might have been a hangover of ill-will from watching The Shit Ov God earlier in the day. Terrible stuff. I will leave the earlier stuff for a while and see if it clicks with me in future as, on paper at least, it ticks the boxes.

yea, I really liked that album, but didn't think much of the last album. I think they peaked with Evangellion which is a class album! Pure blastfest it is. I was mad into them around that period too. Apostasy and Demigod were regularly played around then too. The title of the new album is just silly now, like zero thought put into it. As some said above nu metal, does kinda have that vibe. Still, a cool band live.

Might have been January of 05. I saw them in Whelans then on the Demigod tour. That's the only time I have seen a full set from them. Been at festivals and stuff since then that they played but wasn't bothered. Got a ticket to the Olympia show a few years ago just to see Carcass. Would have hung around to at least give Behemoth a chance but couldn't sit through an Arch Enemy set.

Even the early Behemoth stuff up to and including Demigod isn't that good it's just that it's better than the shite they have been putting out for the last 20 years. Negral is a gimp he is like one of those reality TV stars.

I sold him a bootleg Katharsis shirt on eBay 2 or 3 years ago and the prick didn't even leave me any feedback

Just clocked that The Shit Ov God bares a phonetic resemblance to the ultimately more impressive:

Not as bad as the previous one but Nigel must be hoping that no one has seen old Nine Inch Nails and Danzig videos.

Bit of Wish, bit of Happiness In Slavery, bit of It's Coming Down.

That said they're bloody good at production value. Their stuff never looks cheap.
