Gone after their '25 gig dates are fulfilled apparently. Didn't think the last album was particularly strong but had a lot of time for their stuff over the years. They'll leave a good legacy on on my shelves anyway.

There's a strong possibility that I mightn't have gotten into metal (or at least had an even more delayed introduction) had it not been for Mr. Duffy playing me some Orange Goblin one afternoon I was heading to work with his brother.
Mighty auld band. Will always be thankful for that.
Ah that's a nice touch Simon, fair play :abbath:
I had a friend that won a competition to go and see them in London on a boat going up the Thames. It was Orange Goblin headlining and Kill Devil Hill (Rex Brown's new band at the time). It was for the Metal Hammer awards and the boat was called HMS Hammer. I did get to hang out and chat with them a bit (plus every other band at one point as one of the security mistook me for someone in the band's road crew and ushered me into the band area).
Cool show and a cool experience! Of course the competition win didn't include entry to the awards so it was off to the Crobar to get (more) pissed afterwards.
Anyways, that's my Orange Goblin story and I'm sad to see them go. I remember A Eulogy of the Damned making a stir among some quarters of the Belfast metal scene at the time.
Cool story man!
Never one of the great bands, the albums are patchy, but they were really good at the Siege a few years back.
I liked Time Travellin' Blues, have it on now. It was very cool, they were a cool band back then, in 1999 was it?. Feels like there are 1000s of soundalike bands out there since, hard enough to be interested after a while. A good riff is a good riff though to be fair. Prob fun stuff to play I'd say, esp if you're a guitarist
Good band, think I have 4 of their albums, the first two and a couple of later ones.
Great live band, but tbh I found that I only ever thought to listen to them when they had a gig coming up.
Always thought they were a consistently decent band. A couple of great albums in Time Travelling Blues and Coup de Grace, everything else a solid 6,7/10
Probably should have gone to see them when they played here last year
Have TTB and some other album as a double cd. They never did anything for me.
Me neither. Can't say this is sad news never thought there was anything in particular that stood out about them.
Never heard a note of their music.
But he's only just been inaugurated???

I think I've seen them live 6 times and it was always a good time, great memories from those shows.
I still listen to the first 2 albums a fair bit too.

This is a decent starting point I think.

Coup De Grace is savage craic start to finish.
Great live band, seen them a few times over the years. Earlier albums are great though haven't heard most of the newer ones.
Annoyed that I didn't go to see them one last time - if purely for nostalgia reasons.
Don't like the last album all that much but I didn't give it as much of a chance as the other later records.
"The Big Black" and "Coup De Grace" are probably the apex.
