Didn't see this one coming. Have only ever seen them once before the only other time they played here in 06. This should be great.

Cripes, never seen them. Thought they were relatively inactive too- who's even in the band these days
I think it's just Nattefrost and a load of young lads. Vrangsinn was with them up until recently but is taking a break because of health issues.
They have been playing shows on and off for the last 5 years or so. No tours so unless this is part of a small UK and Ireland tour. I would guess Nattefrost isn't able to do proper tours as he is lucky to be alive. His screaming vocals are not as good as they use to be again down to his health. Mate of mine saw them in Montreal 2 years ago and said they were great. It's also only €30 and the venue is perfect for them.
I love CF and have seen them a good few times here and there at festivals and they are always hit or miss depending on the state of the band. Seen them december at eindhoven metal meeting and thought they played great so that bodes well. Its nattefrost and pretty much the rest is filled with members of Svarttjern, another good norwegian BM band. this is great to have them play over here, will defo go!

Damn..thought I'd knocked these feckin pilgrimages to Dublin and back on the head but this is hard to pass up
Do they play some sort of black n roll or similar then? My only reference point for this band is this picture of Vrangsinn's pockmarked arse:

It's black metal with lots of fast punk style sections. Then most of the demos, first EP and bit of the first album sounds a lot like early Celtic Frost.

Anyone know what that Lost Lane venue is like? Got my ticket anyway
So now tickets.ie are not doing physical tickets anymore very fucking annoying and in this case I would advise everyone to buy from eventbrite as most shows are slightly cheaper there.
Lost Lane is a great venue.
Finally a gig that's on a weekend :abbath:
Black Altar from Poland and Drakonis supporting. Black Altar is a nice addition very interested in seeing them.
Looks like tickets for this are getting low.

Cheers for the heads up Mick. There is indeed a low ticket warning on Eventbrite. Definitely don't want to miss this one. As you say, Black Altar is a great addition.
Anywhere handy to park near the venue?
Andrew's Lane is a minute away.
Are there stage times anywhere yet?
....
Doors 7pm
Drakonis 7:15pm – 7:45pm
Black Altar 8:10pm – 8:40pm:
CARPATHIAN FOREST 9:10pm – 10:30pm
A few beers and can't wait for this now. Looking forward to Black Altar but can't wait for CF. Caved and looked at the setlist. Great set spread across the discography and the 3 new songs which live versions are available on youtube sound great. They open with the best song from Fuck you all and also play the best track from defending.
Again 2 covers which I could do without and would prefer original songs instead. The Cure cover they do is best cover I have heard of that song and it does suit the band very well.
That was good fun - Black Altar were the band of the night for me, even though having a big disco ball overhead ruined their esthetic somewhat.
Enjoyed Black Altar. Of all the incense, altar on stage / 'ritual' style shows I have seen I think that's the first time I have seen that at a gig in Ireland.
CF were phenomenal, blew me away. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect especially since they had been playing shows all week and Nattefrost's lifestyle seems to have caught up with him. Now I suspect playing a few shows in a row has done him the world of good. Finally got to meet him after not getting to at the 06 show and he was a gent. He genuinely seemed so happy with the show last night and how good the crowd response was. I just hope they get that new album sorted out must be at least 15 years since they announced it and the 3 new songs they played last night have been in the set for a few years now. One of the new songs is called Rock'n Roll Glory Hole
Nattefrost complimenting the fella in the crowd who was wearing the suit
The Live free tour booking agency are bringing some killer bands to Ireland which is great to see especially since DME has moved away from bringing over a lot of the stuff I would like to see coming here.
