Very small sample to go off but it sounds promising at least. Are the band based in Ireland?

Yeah! It's a short clip, but definitely sounds like a step up from the previous release.
Looking forward to hearing the full album.

Really good stuff. The music on its own is well crafted, Neurosis style sludge/doom but with its own character. The use of delicate sean-nós style singing on top isn't always perfectly seamless, but I think it is very effective regardless. The looseness between both styles is alright with me. Nice video as well.

Pretty much the same sentiment as Andy.
Sean-Nós works great in parts and melds well, but a little off kilter in others. But sean-nós is a bit off kilter to begin with anyway, sure.

Regardless!
LP ordered.   :abbath:

Second song is a real grower. Seems a little shaky at the start, a bit loose time wise, but it builds really nicely. There's something vaguely familiar about the vocal melodies... I can't place it, but I like it.

The album cover would make Gjendød think twice, though

The digital and vinyl editions of Níl mo chroí in aon rud are now on discount (https://fosmetal.bandcamp.com/music) for Bandcamp Friday, and also the cassette edition of Rinne mé iarraidh.

Angry Metal Guy (https://www.angrymetalguy.com/fos-nil-mo-chroi-in-aon-rud-review/): "...there is a somber beauty and resonance to much of the material here, that leaves me with a deep sense of longing and loss after each spin... Fós have done exactly what I hoped they would."

Everything is Noise (https://everythingisnoise.net/reviews/fos-nil-mo-chroi-aon-rud/): "A soaring blend of ancient Irish folk traditions with contemporary heavy aesthetics, Fós' debut album offers an interesting take on the post-doom, ambient and folk metal genres."

Nine Circles (https://ninecircles.co/2025/01/30/album-review-fos-nil-mo-chroi-in-aon-rud/): "There really is no other band out there anything like Fós. You owe it to yourself to experience what they are all about... There is a wistful, blissfully homesick feeling that Níl mo chroí in aon rud fills me with that can't be replicated by anything else."

Heavy Blog is Heavy (https://www.heavyblogisheavy.com/2025/03/28/doomsday-march-2025/): "Fós gracefully blends resonant doom and noisy ambience with poetic folk, crossing the boundaries of time to deliver a mournful-yet-comforting sound. "

Thanks so much! I don't listen to a lot of death metal but I really liked your latest EP.
