Title: Neon Nightmare - Faded Dream (Type O worship)
Post by: Slaughterday on December 18, 2024, 07:36:30 PM
One man band comprised of Nate Garrett from Spirit Adrift. This is basically a Type O Negative tribute band, to the extent that people thought it was AI generated up until it was announced who was behind the album. Shameless ripoff or not, it's a class listen.

Anything Garrett does is brilliant. Never heard of Nate or Spirit Adrift though

This was actually grand in its shamelessness and I suppose it's all we'll get.

My favourite was still that crowd that released about 3 cover tunes in the style a few years back. Wicked Game was one of them but I can't think of the name on the band for the life of me

The full album is up, I just linked to one track there. LP has been out for a few weeks at this stage.

Will likely give it a go, it was way less annoying than the other clones I checked out

Edit: at the same time, I always feel a bit scalded when something nearly hits the spot but isn't actually Pete Steele

It's a great record, nails the vibe and doesn't come across as a rip off.

He's got a genuine love for TON and it shows as he gets all the little things they'd do in the songs and throws in a few John Christ bits while he's at it.

Sounds good, but TON doing TON can never be topped.

Spirit Adrift are a current favourite of mine, though. So will give the album a few spins to see if it'll warm to me more.

Quotedoesn't come across as a rip off.

I've been listening to this all week, have to say it is a blatant rip off. An entertaining one mind.
