Thinking about it based on Frost/BI but that's all so far I'd be interested in

Went a couple of years ago when Emperor played, was fairly annoying having to move between venues and queue back up to each one, and for the bands playing the Roundhouse you had to take a 15 minute walk there into account

Unless there's a few bands playing the one place that you want to see you end up missing big chunks of the sets

It's shame that Tom Warrior never comes here we are at least due a Triptykon or Forst cover show. Was the Triptykon Cork show the only time he has ever played live with a band in Ireland?

I think so, I'm fairly certain a lad got him to sign a copy of cold lake 🤣 they were great that night. Got my ticket for this anyway

Roundhouse is too far yeah. Its good its not used now. Great fest usually and i love the constant switch of venues as it keeps things fresh, people drinking in the streets and occasionally catch a heavy as fuck gem in the tiny pub setting, the devonshire arms. The queue is usually minimal after the first bands. Celtic Frost and Blood Incantation  :abbath:

That is sweet now. Considering going to this. Why doesn't Ireland get these kind of shows? I was at deathfest in London 2 years ago and managed to check a load of bands off the aul bucket list.

Where are you guys staying accommodation wise for this fest?

I had a look there yesterday for hotels in the Kings Cross/Camden area and holy hell it's expensive. I was in Camden last year for Blind Guardian and prices have jumped considerably, even since then!

Looks saucy that night alright. Little bit out but if you want to save the pennies Premier Inn in Beckton is £49 for a twin room that night. Last stop on the DLR - about an hour to Camden via Canning Town, Stratford and Camden Road. Have stayed there, it's grand. Couple of Premier Inns and Travelodges around the Docklands / London City Airport for a but more (but note twin rooms in Travelodges often cost quite a bit extra). If you wanna splash the cash but within reason, Travelodge Finchley is £107 for a single / double and is handy for Camden (straight up the tube) and the bar stays open all night for residents (or did in August when I was at Deicide anyway!).

Cheers for the reply. I'll look into all of the above at some stage later today.

My mate usually stays in the Holiday Inn in Camden Lough for these fests, total for there for 3 nights (myself and the missus planning on staying Friday to Monday) is £840 ;D

Premier Inn Stratford £324 for that stay - it's very missus friendly if she's into shopping (it's literally inside Europe's largest shopping centre) with a craft beer bar downstairs and a ~20 minute hop on the Overground straight to Camden. Some good beer stops on that route too.

Very tempted by this, although I'm going to Maryland Death Fest a few weeks later.

Booked a ticket to this. Blood Incantation and Batushka are both playing the Roundhouse with no overlap (promoter on IG mentioned)

Hoping to catch  Spectral Wound, BlackBraid and a few more while there. Think they are playing the Electric Ballroom venue. Not sure how overlap between gigs are handled though.

Flying over the morning of from Cork on me own and just gonna hang around Camden for the day if anyone fancies a pint, gimme a shout!

Accommodation is a killer though, got a spot in Camden but not happy about the price.

Also, spotted Ulcerate have a gig the same month in the UK so I am fingers crossed on them being announced for this.

Both Blood Incantation and Batushka are exclusive to this festival for 2025 also so not to be missed I think.

Just checked the Fortress fest website and spotted this so you could be right, unfortunatley for me:

> Please welcome unorthodox Death Metal pioneers, ULCERATE to the Fortress '25 line-up! These unparalleled Death Metal titans recently released "Cutting The Throat Of God", a mind-bending seventh album. Ulcerate will perform on the main stage at Fortress 2025 with a UK exclusive performance for the event.

I've been wanting to see Warbringer for a while now but they've never really been over this way so I'm chuffed they've been added.

Their last album, Weapons of Tomorrow, is a superb listen.

Krautrock, psychedelic rock band Minami Deutsch from Tokyo added to the bill just now.

Never heard of them, other than that Blood Incantation bring them on tour, so may check them out later.

I seen Warbringer here in the Pint bar. Mind it was probably around 12 years though ha ha

I am obsessed with this new Blood Incantation album.

Shame they didnt play in Ireland but seeing at this festival will hit the spot. Seen that they bring a varied selection of genres on tour with them so I'll be interested to see what Minami Deustch are like live too.

Anyone know what the sound in the Roundhouse is like? Hearing different things but apparently a good view from anywhere

Genuinely never heard of them but threw on their last album Saturnian Bloodstorm at lunch. A savage slice of melodic black metal.

Looks like its only going to be the Roundhouse and Electric Ballroom I will need to be worrying about for the most part.

Just need set times now and I can plan.

Booked my flights over from Cork there.

It's one of those 1 man bedroom black metal projects who's records sell out in minutes due to insanely low amounts of copies being pressed. Never got into LOM but his other projects Fuinaehot did a demo a last year which is very good.

Blood Incantation and Undergang aren't clashing (The organisers confirmed) so that was my main concern.

Haven't seen Cryptopsy or Decapitated live in years!, so definitely catch them to see if they play some of the older material.

Same, Blood Incantation and Undergang not clashing so that's me sorted!.There's only 3/4 other bands that interest me then.

This was great!,BI were just flawless!, possibly the best live band around now!.Batushka were a excellent, I've only really become familiar with them in recent times.Undergang in the Underworld was something else, fucking proper death metal madness!.

The Roundhouse is some venue!, perfect really!

What an absolutely fantastic day that was. The have some organisation at that, loved it.

Caught Spectral Wound and Blackbraid and then bounced over to the Roundhouse and caught Batushka and Blood Incantation.

Everyone cleared out for a bit after Batushka and I wandered up to the front for BI, worked out amazing. They were next level, highlight of the day for me, Batushka a very close second.

Looking forward to seeing what bands are announced next year.
