Been a while since I seen craic like this. Looks like he's off his bin

From the thread title I thought he'd put his face too close to the radiator.
He's always been an insufferable prick.

Farrell's wife reckons it's everyone else's fault
QuoteEarlier on Saturday, Farrell's wife Etty Lau Farrell provided a "first person account" of what happened during the Boston concert, writing in an Instagram post that there had been "a lot of tension and animosity between the members" and the "dynamite was lit" that night.
She went on to say that the altercation had been a culmination of Perry's "mounting" frustration due to the "extremely loud" volume of the band's playing, and that her husband felt that "his voice was being drowned out by the band."
"Perry had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night," she explained. "But when the audience in the first row started complaining [to] Perry, cussing at him that the band was planning too loud and that they couldn't hear him, Perry lost it."
"The band started the song 'Ocean [Size]' before Perry was ready and did the count off," Etty continued. "The stage volume was so loud at that point, that Perry couldn't hear [past] the boom and the vibration of the instruments and by the end of the song, he wasn't singing, he was screaming just to be heard."
Etty claimed that while Navarro had tried to keep her husband "at arm's length to de-escalate the situation," bassist Eric Avery "put Perry in a headlock and punched him in the stomach three times." She said a crew member was able to pull Avery away, and he "walked off to the front of the stage to apologize to [the] audience for the show ending early."
"Dave still looked handsome and cool in the middle of a fight," Etty wrote. "Perry was a crazed beast for the next half an hour — he finally did not calm down, but did break down and cried and cried.
"Eric, well he either didn't understand what de-escalation meant or took advantage of the situation and got in a few cheap shots on Perry," she added.
"Dave still looked handsome and cool in the middle of a fight,"
Such a bizarre thing to say. Am I missing something?
Oh she's riding him. Perry knows... hence the tantrum
It's that it? Kind of sounds like it.
When a crock of shit explanation like that comes out it makes it worse!
Surely yerman could have asked for more of himself in the monitors instead of that tantrum.
The fact he looked higher than a kite had probably no bearing on it.
A bit more of the lead up to it:
https://www.facebook.com/share/r/CSBtgCPP5ZspJZYq/
He's well out of it, and I don't think the rest of the band drowning him out was a bad thing, from the sound of this.
It's total bullshit. He's using in-ear monitors
First, he wouldn't have heard a fucking word from the crowd because they're moulded to his ears to block out external sound and, second, he has his own mix in his ears, he could have everyone else turned down if he wanted. I'd say it's more that his voice sounds shot, he can hear it too and, perhaps, he needs someone to blame for it.
More stuff coming out now, Farrell missing cues, singing verses over solos, that kind of thing. Dickhead.
Ah I dunno lads it's a bit rock and roll in a fairly sterile time for it. Yeah he looks like a wankstain and reportedly is one but I do enjoy a good old high as a kite frontman as a sort of throwback to simpler times.
Of course being this age and thinking of it being a local lad I'd be pure disgusted with him, so there is that as well
He also looks like he wouldn't bate snow off a rope so it was hardly a big deal either
Never got the appeal of Jane's Addiction. I would have been a fan of a lot of 90's alternative stuff, so it's not a case that I wouldn't have been open to them as a teenage metaller. Remember hearing Been Caught Stealing for the first time and thinking it was just horrible.
I bought an album of theirs in Dealz for 1.50 one of the days and I was robbed. Awful shit altogether. It was my first time hearing them as well and I just don't get the appeal in any way at all
The first couple of albums did nothing for me and Ritual De Lo Habitual took a while to click, but it's a fantastic listen when you come around to it. Been Caught Stealing wouldn't be representative of it, particularly 'side 2'.
They were great here a few months back ago but he was definitely fairly out of it

Was it Strays?
Recall our local Dealz having about 30 copies on the shelves.
It's shite!
It really is, but I liked Just Because.
An aging junkie narcissist from a horrible, vastly overrated band being a total arsehole? Imagine my shock.
Having his missus publicly defend him, while also calling the bloke he hit "handsome and cool" can't have made things any better mind you. She should probably have kept it buttoned, but y'know, it's 2024 so that was unlikely to happen.
Hopefully all's well that ends soon.
I liked a good bit of their first few albums. Some great songs on Ritual..

No it was Ritual De Lo Habitual. I just felt like it was missing everything: songs, sound, riffs, vocals a lot of the time. I had no problem with them before I tried it out but it all went way over my head whatever it is that people like about their thing

QuoteDue to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour.
"Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.
"We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.
"Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen".
Shit buzz.
No surprises whatsoever there.even more glad I saw them now before Farrell went full baloobas
I feel like him and Wes Scantlin have been circling the drain for a while now (along with Shifty Shellshock while he was still around). Hope they can get their shit together before they join Shifty.
I had to google who Wes Scantlin and Shifty Shellshock are/were. Now I wish I hadn't bothered.

Little more than tabloid fodder these days, but probably pretty well known to anyone on here around the 40 mark!
I have been in a room with Wes Scantlin. It was not enjoyable.

Like not a gig? Just shitfaced was he?
Never heard of him but a quick Google reveals him to be one of the Top 100 Metal vocalists of all time.
How did I miss that this last forty eight years?
Hit Parader has me educated now. Must subscribe pronto.
Odd behaviour but something tells me that it's a publicity stunt, 'make rock dangerous again'. Who knows, when Oasis tour again there may trouble ahead, rock and roll!

No, it was a gig alright, they (Puddle Of Mudd) supported Korn in the RDS 20-25 years ago. A mate got free tickets through work so off we went. We were down the back of the venue, couldn't see who was onstage and thought it was the opening band (whose name escapes me). One of us said "jaysus they sound like a shite Puddle Of Mudd rip off", it was only when they played their hit that we realised it was them. Shite indeed.
One time I'm happy to be the wrong side of 45...
Me too. In a few weeks I'll be the wrong side of 49.
Was that a tune from one of Stevie Nicks' later albums? Wrong Side of 45?
Wrong side of 45 is when you buy a die hard 7" with an etched B side and destroy your needle on it after twenty pints .

You'd have to hope this has been doctored

If that's real I'm surprised that some of the band didn't hit him a box earlier
He sounds like this cunt!
Tragic. Wtf.

I was at that gig, yep a time of record labels pumping money into the NU Metal bands and them being crap.

They're suing Perry for a cool $10m and Perry's now suing them back. The lads must want some of that delicious Lollapalooza lucre. I'm not saying Perry's account of events is bullshit but let's just say it doesn't quite sync with the video there 😂
"Navarro, Avery and Perkins apparently decided that JANE'S ADDICTION's decades of success should be jettisoned in pursuit of a years-long bullying campaign against Farrell involving harassing him onstage during performances, including, among other tactics, trying to undermine him by playing their instruments at a high volume so that he could not hear himself sing without blasting his own in-ear monitors at an unsafe level. This harassment escalated on September 13, 2024 to physical violence by Navarro and Avery against Farrell onstage during the Boston show and the assault of both Perry and [Perry's wife] Etty Lau Farrell backstage by Navarro."
Papa needs a brand new facelift. Jesus, has he no sense of self awareness at all?
