That's a fucking ripper of a song, holy shit. Neurosis-y with more than a hint of Amebix to my ear, but you have managed to put your own spin on it big time. I love the vocals, how you can hear the Irish accent coming through. It adds an extra bit of authenticity,  but the music has originality too. There's a joyousness or sense of celebration to it at the end. I don't know if that was intentional or if it's just that I'm completely fucking warped in the brain, but the sing-along buzz just feels like positive vibes to me. Most impressive. I'll have to check out your earlier releases as despite knowing the name I can't remember the music having caught me before.

Cheers fellas

Some Irish dates added

No warping of the brain Mclove, nail on the head.

The song is about the Mary Russell tragedy. I live a few minutes from the graves of the seven murdered crew. Their captain believed that they were planning a mutiny based on them speaking Irish.

Gave this a quick spin the other night and it's class. Got it's own unique thing going on which is hard to pin down. Some of the guitar licks remind me of Smashing Pumpkins oddly enough even though the genres are far apart. Need to give it a few more spins but definitely an excellent Irish release  :abbath:

Not at bunker or Music zone yet, but soon!
Plugd should be stocked soon aswell. For now, best place to grab a copy is on our bandcamp:

There's an Irish show or two to be announced for November soon with an absolutely stacked lineup that I can't wait for. News on that soon.

The documentary is going to be part of the upcoming Dublin underground film Fest at the end of the month, which is pretty awesome all things considered.

That documentary is very good now. It would be cool to see more of this on irish bands. Does anyone remember the short documentary series on Irish acts that was done a good few years ago? I remember it was up on Metal Ireland

I just watched the documentary. Really fascinating stuff. I hope the CD isn't too long in winging its way down here as I've listened to it loads on YouTube but I am excited to hear it properly through the stereo. I imagine it'll be struck in the car for months to come.

Enjoyed that doc. I had no idea whatsoever that these lads were connected with Sludgehook, which is an absolute blast from the past. Christ I feel old now. Last time I saw Sludgehook was maybe late 90's, early 00's in the old college bar in UCC.

There's a little production detail that brings a smile to my face in Skin of the Beast every time I listen to it. There's a section where the main riff is howling and on top there have been particular  notes picked out and plucked which have been loaded with extra reverb. Sounds great. Will rob

Finally got around to picking the album up (or whatever one does on Bandcamp) this morning.

Absolutely ripping stuff, it's been a long time coming but well worth the wait. I still spin "Follow Me Through Body" frequently - the track "Jerusalem" is a monster but this new record is next level. It sounds absolutely huge - even through headphones.

Pissed off that I missed the lads supporting Nadja in Cork a few weeks ago, I'd love to have heard these new tracks live.

Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí agus ádh mór oraibh go léir.

Tapes are down to a handful, get em while you can:

https://partholonian.bandcamp.com/album/the-ocean-pours-in (https://partholonian.bandcamp.com/album/the-ocean-pours-in)

Well lamped McLove. It's a mixture of a reverb pedal and slap delay. It's meant to oscillate from ear to ear before landing in the middle of the mix. I'm delighted someone copped it because it took so much time to tweak it right and not have the ass fall out of the rhythm playing. The majority of the album is just two guitars.

I use quill effects cruel bloom pedal live for that bit in particular. There's a cool burst option that could have saved me hours in the studio 😆

The Metal Cell Documentary is down to the last 3 for best documentary at the upcoming Dublin Underground Film awards in November. I'm hopeful Richie will do more features like this, reminiscent of the Fractured series (well worth a watch).

You can catch it on YouTube now:

November show details will be announced soon, but a cursory look at gigs in Cork at that time should give the heads up 😉

This is filling the Neurosis shaped hole in my life quite nicely. Fair play.
That mellotron type effect/sound at the start of "Gathered in Circles" is deadly. Don't explain it to me though,it'll ruin the magic.

Check out his solo stuff, one man effort. Just a cascade of bass. Hard to pin down, but heavily influenced by Black Metal.

The Cork show next Fri is updated.

Unexpected issues with the venue led to the show being cancelled initially. However, the show will go ahead at Blackpool rehearsal studios and is limited to 50 tickets.

Tickets go on sale 11am tomorrow (Weds) morning.

Based on previous ticket sales, this is likely to sell out very very fast. Keep an eye out on the Dead Cult socials.
