How much are tickets? In two minds about that, love the era but Seen Max with Soulfly nearly 20 years ago and it was one of the worst things I was ever at. He's so out of shape now hard to fathom this being any better.
Great if it's only the early Sepultura stuff.
32.50 + fees

It says on the Limelight facebook 'They will be playing a mixture of current music and hits from their early career' but maybe that's a mistake as everywhere else has what you posted.
Looking at recent shows they are also playing stuff from Schizophrenia and they toured Arise / Beneath the Remains a few years ago so this could potentially be Bestial - Arise material which would be unreal.
Yeah 32.50 is worth a punt.
Are they using batteries or real bullets in that promo pic? :abbath:
Igor looking a little 'Ricky Gervais' in that pic!
I got my photo with Igor and Black Winds in Japan. It turned out I had been standing beside Igor the night before while he was DJ-ing. I was looking at him trying to figure out why he looked familiar to me, but i couldn't place him. Then the next day someone pointed him out and told me who it was... D'oh! Later that evening I was standing near the merch stall chatting to someone and the two bucks rambled over to the merch together. I swooped in for a photo and afterwards the boys got mobbed  sorry fellers!
can't beat all the early material, this will be a ripper
Got my ticket for this. Really looking forward to it now. I imagine they will sell out? Either way I wasn't taking the chance and leaving it.

I think it will the price is great and all the videos of Max and Igor doing the old Sepultura stuff look great. Max's voice still sounds really good. I saw nothing but praise on other forums from people who saw the Beneath / Arise tour 2 years ago.
Ya, I'm optimistic. The clips I saw were savage.
Im away on fooking holidays for this!😭
I saw them at MDF two years ago and it was arguably the best set of the entire festival...
I am hoping for a handful of tunes from Schizophrenia.
Unfortunately, if it's anything like their setlists last year, the bulk of the songs will be from Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions. They just rerecorded both of those.
I haven't listened to those albums much, so maybe they're better than I think.
Their setlists from a couple of years ago had tons of Arise and Chaos A.D. in them.
Maybe I'm misjudging the setlist. The non-Mordid/Bestial songs are grouped together with slashes, making them look like three-song medleys. Perhaps they play them in full though, in which case it's pretty good.
The tour last year was advertised as Bestial / Morbid Visions and the one a few years ago was the Arise / Beneath the remains tour. This show is 'hits from their early career' which seems to suggest it will be a combination of all the Sepultura material they have been playing for the last few years. I think the Bestial / Morbid Visions tour already hit Europe at some stage last year.
I actually think this could be decent enough if max hasn't gone too immobile. Filed with Pantera reunion in that yeah it's not proper but could be decent. It's growing on me

Hope they are the full songs but played through without stopping, absolutely hate medleys. Didn't WASP pad their set with it last year?
WASP have been doing it for years I reckon - a medley appears on 'Double live assasians' too. Dio fond of and oul 'mish-mash' too.
is it sold out already ?
Looks like it DME posted earlier in the week that only a few tickets were left.
Seems like this is the 'Third World' tour, so it will just be Bestial, Morbid and Schizophrenia?

That's cunty. Sure, the UK is on a fast-track back to the Stone Age, but the rest of us are doing alright.
I would have liked songs from Arise and Beneath as well but at the same time it will be good to hear a lot of the more obscure songs that I don't even have live of recordings of.
I wonder will the band have copies of the re-recording with them for sale at the show as I won't be assed buying it 2 weeks after having seen them live.
I got the Bestial re-recording LP in that Nuclear Blast sale for €10 I must say I am really enjoying it more and more with each listen.

The first day of that Nuclear Blast sale had some insane bargains.

Waiting for them to announce the Tipp Town show to keep it authentic. The Indian restaurant down there is truly something from the black hole of calcutta even mother Teresa herself wouldn't go into it.
Anyway back to it: haven't listened to all of the first two rerecordings yet actually, just see them mentioned here though. Any good, or what's the consensus there?
I enjoyed them. The songwriting is a bit all over the place but it's amazing what the ability to play and a decent recording will do for them.

There's Third World and then there's Tipp town. Levels.
I'd have said I'd prefer to see The Troops Of Doom but this isn't as good as the first album and they seem to have buried the drums. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkmgbCkDR4PohSI89P14pLg
I can't believe max is still able to get it going with no strings on his guitar
I'm surprised at how cool his vocals are. I think it sounds great.

Absolutely, it's proper ripping so it is
Any sign of a support act or stage times on this ?
None, not even really sure who is running it because it doesn't seem like Distortion Project. This, Brujería and Suffocation don't really have any info on the Belfast shows.
Doors 7
@unmakermetalirl 7.45
Cavalera 8.45
(subject to change)
Anyone got a spare ticket folks?
Buzzing for this. I thought it was just up to Schizo and maybe Refuse/Resist and Territory above are just exceptions for the sake of playing them, but some Arise and BTR stuff would be very, very welcome. Regardless, first gig since Lankum before Christmas. Can't wait.
I really hope this means we will get some songs from Arise now.
I see Igor has the roto-toms on the kit. 🤘
Buzzing for tonight!

are those the Dublin stage times?
any Belfast timings?
Limelight usually won't post stage times until the day of the gig.
8 O clock Support and 9 O Clock Sepultura for the Dublin gig.
Fuckin hell that was something else. Necromancer and Escape to the Void were rattling the teeth in my skull. The lads were seriously on it tonight. Unreal gig
Iggor is some man for one man.
Great gig. I never thought I would hear the majority of the Bestial / Morbid songs live never mind see Max and Igor playing them. Was hoping they would at the very least have a reasonably priced copy of the Morbid re-recording on vinyl or even the new one but all they had was CDs.
People can go on about cash grabs and all that but the lads are playing small venues all over Europe with people paying about €30 on average to see them they could very easily have charged a lot more and last night still would have sold out. I loved the "this is the real Sepultura" bit  Great to see they have ditched the Antifa flag.
Necromancer was my highlight. awesome guitar sound. paid double to get in off scalper but whatever, was cool to see the real Sepultura. His son? is class on guitar too. some great playing. only flaw was not playing some songs in full.
Wasn't really too sure what to expect last night, but fuck me that was unreal. Lead guitarist absolutely killed it. Savage gig.
As stated above, a really enjoyable gig. Pity they only played snippets of certain songs but great to see the old stuff live.
I may have purchased the small painting/drawing by Max - perhaps worthy of the shameless merch thread - but cool to have something with a personal touch ( plus Max was a god to me when I was 14 so maybe a contender for the guilty pleasures thread instead 😅)
Sounds like a good one, I was briefly tempted until I priced accomodation. Were they around or accessible at all afterward? I'd imagine the whole place would have wanted to chat with them.
They have a big bald fella with a long beard with them who I have seen in a lot of the recent live videos that looks like security similar to Big Rob that travels with Blasphemy. I saw him wandering around the back and front parts of the stage were the photographers be last night. If he is security then I would imagine they don't want crowds of people coming up to them.
Is there much in the way of merch? Hopefully the show tonight in Belfast is half as good as the Dublin show looked

There was a fairly good selection of shirts and patches last night in Dublin. Think they only had CD versions of the Visions/Devastation albums. Also signed posters and drum skins which were fair pricey.

Belfast gig was Immense! place was heaving, probably close to a sold out show..?
stage looked great with the screens and lighting. interludes were good between albums eras, created a bit of atmosphere. band was great, guitarist was blazing through the material. crowd was well up for it. good to hear a bit of Chaos AD, nothing of BTR or Arise unfortunately.
anyway, one to remember that :abbath:
Good chance of them coming back here given the crowds they got. Looked at a few of the other venues they are playing in the coming days / weeks which are much smaller than what they played here. Be great if they came back with Arise / BTR next time or even Schizophrenia in full.
Not sure how I feel about bands bringing two 60 inch flatscreens out on tour. A desperate amount of fucking about with those intros and what felt like a good 5 minutes break between the sections.
Good show though.
Honestly most of the chat round here has been about Max half arsing it or flat out not playing guitar at all. I thought he was on the money and Igor was flat to the fucking mat.

Again, there's only so much that one can do without strings on one's guitar. The clips I've seen don't exactly put paid to the notion that he's barely there between getting the crowd to sing the songs and getting the unknown guitarist to do all the heavy lifting and when he does open his mouth he's not even a good parody of his former self. Then again, I wasn't there..
There is about a half hour on YouTube from the Dublin gig and it looks savage. Max seems to be giving it his full effort and as for Igor!! He is absolutely beating the shit out if that kit.
Looks little the crowd had a great time.

To be fair, igor is giving it socks in anything I've seen
They did 'Primitive Future' off BTR in Belfast.
