"After unfortunately having to cancel last year's shows, US death metal legends Suffocation will come to Ireland for 3 dates in June! Special guests Distant. On sale Monday 10am."
Great to see these shows finally rescheduled especially after the recent European tour happened with no Ireland. I saw them back in November and was so disappointed when Ricky had been replaced by some stand in female vocalist because he was sick. Finally getting to see them with him was the thing I was most excited about.
Happy days!,Dolans going to be insane for this!
Female vocalist in Suffocation? Bloody hell!

Fab news, looking forward to Dolans :abbath:
I've no odea of the support though?
A deathcore band. Complete and utter scutter. Have a look at their insta, that even manages to be annoying
Thank god for Zealot Cult in Limerick then! Can't believe this is 2.5 weeks away already :-*
Would love to see Zealot Cult open in Belfast too, or Strangle Wire.
Seen Suffocation the last time they played the Limelight absolutely dying a death, Cannibal Corpse were in the other Limelight the night before!
Bizarre Facebook advertising for this from Dolan's - they've three different dates listed - all in one ad!
They're very popular in Limerick
Picked up my ticket for Limerick earlier, havent seen the live since the last time they played Cork!.

Sold
How was last nights show? In two minds about tonight
Suffocation were absolutely immense for their 55min performance. Couldn't recommend catching them enough.
I was buzzing for it all with nothing but water on board. Some of the pit crowd should have been taken out and water boarded though.
Some mongos throwing elbows around all the time - it nearly kicked off at the very end with the "Mosh Pit Warrior" getting in a tussel and squaring off. You could see from the off that he was going to cause trouble.
Other non fans dancing and rolling around on the floor as if they were taking the piss rather than having a good time.
But they won't be in Dublin for sure!
Still thoroughly recommend it!
Is it me or tees for €30 these days is taking the piss a little? You'd imagine they'd shift more units and make greater profits if they sold for €25? They sell the same shirts online for €21 anyway.
Pity to hear that. I've always found the Limerick crowds to be pure sound at the Siege.
As my buddy saod, the planet of the ape extras always seem to come out for bands like Suffocation and Dyimg Fetis. Main thing os the performance was stellar so just try to tune them out..

It's getting a bit much alright. I got a Blind Guardian tour shirt from their site that was cheaper than at the gig, even with postage.
But I'm guessing bands have to do it to cover whatever cut the venue takes from merch, I've heard of some places taking up to 30% which is a fucking joke
Haven't bought a shirt at a show in a while - just too feckin much. Can only imagine the prices at the Panteras.
Got a shirt at Brujeria and it was €25 which even felt like a rip off but at least most or hopefully all of the money is going to the band. Got an Ominous Resurrection shirt when I saw them last year for €10. Shirts really shouldn't be anymore then €20.
Pantera shirts were €40 last year but they all had really gay back prints. They had a red vulgar display that looked nice but then in block capitals on the back it had "for the fans and for the brothers" you'd feel like a right spare prick walking around with that on your back.
Yeah the Brujeria ones were alright but think one was the severed head, wasn't going to wander around with that.
The back prints do indeed kill 85% of the shirts
Suffocation were decent ,bit too street for me if you know what I mean though .
Vocalist uses a lot of effects too
Zealot cult were good as usual as for that other band they are everything I hate about "extreme " music .

The Academy are pretty notorious for taking huge cuts of merch as well. I remember Uncle Acid and Blood Ceremony sold shirts out the back of their van when they played here a couple years back

I had the Matando güeros as a teenager but sold it off a while ago. I got the single sided Ritmos satánicos one they had. It is the same design as the link below except the the logo and song title are in red and the overall print is much smaller.

I also got the bandana just for a souvenir as they were only €10.
Really really enjoyed Suffocation. Pure sound folks too. They were genuinely delighted to be playing in Ireland.
Regarding merch, definitely seeing prices creeping up across the board. It's nearly twice as expensive to get shirts made now though than it was pre COVID.
Also, Dolan's doesn't take a cut on the merch, fully goes to the bands. Godflesh dropped the price of their shirts by a fiver at their gig because of this so some bands do take it into consideration!
That was one of the best performances I have ever seen from this band . Brought along a mate who isn't into this stuff at all and he thought they were great. I can't think of anyone who would be a better replacement for Frank than Ricky.
T-shirts and merch prices at gigs in Oz (or just in general) are frightening. A t-shirt is $50 standard. It only goes up from there. I bought a Rotting Christ LP at the gig recently... $75!
That why the prices are so high because people like you pay them .
Yeah man, that's it exactly. They contacted me before the tour and asked me what my limit was and they set the prices accordingly. Muppet.

20 years ago this month since I first saw them and have seen some great shows. The one in Fibbers was class. Didn't know a good few tracks last night but they were all enjoyable and it was a great gig. Support sounded cuntish.
My missus loved Suffo and she's not into metal either.

9 years since I moved home from Aus and even back then gigs cost spastic money in Sydney!
Yup. But even buying records or merch here in shops is spastic. I had hoped that at an underground gig from a European band I might get a deal but it cost the same as if I'd bought it from a shop or ordered it with postage which is why I bit the bullet in the end. I'd have been raped either way. No winning.
Will you stop fucking buying g stuff Eoin you are the reason for these high prices. Please.
Ok.
Are you the reason my car insurance is so high? I feel like a right old fool now.
Next time I might drop your name and tell them you are happy to pay less therefore so am I.
Yes indeed. All your mortal prayers shall be answered. Have faith.
Too cool for criticism?
Get fucked ,anyone who pays that can't complain .

Your criticizing the person at the wrong end of the deal. Prices everywhere have increased for records and merch. If you decide you don't want to pay it then fair enough- but you're complaining about it too. If I decide to pay it at the gig rather than passing on it only to have to pay the same amount in a shop or on an order from the label then I can make that decision, and I'm still well within my rights to moan about it.
What do you propose as an alternative? We all go on strike from buying records? Cool man, you get everyone on board and we'll stick it to the man
