Description from the promoter of the London show as I am still on that mailing list:
QuoteThis Summer, we enter the frostbitten realms of Abbath Doom Occulta as he revisits the iconic catalogue of Immortal, the band he co-founded and helmed for nearly three decades. As one of the most influential metal bands to ever emerge from Norway, Abbath will pay tribute to Immortal's legacy by performing a carefully selected set of old fan favourites, rare gems and metal anthems.
For this 'Return to the Raven Realms Tour', Abbath will be armed with a spectacular stage show - the largest he has undertaken in his nearly 40-year long career. June can't cometh quickly enough.

Exactly what I said on dme fb post 😂
What a glorious surprise to see while eating my ready break
Has he played any of these Immortal shows yet? Would be interested to see what the setlist is like. Hopefully by old fan favourites he means the first few albums and not Sons of Northern Darkness. If the setlist is good then this could be great in the Academy. Tickets price is fairly decent as well.
Great job! Didn't see the price, how much?
Nice! After this I will have gone to more gigs I'm the first half of this year than the previous four years combined.
Support from immortal performs abbath
Not bad, was expecting Emperor type prices.
Nice, looking forward to that, some good gigs coming thick and fast this year.
Winter is coming...... or is it a killer whale.....
This will be good!
I am absolutely buzzing with this announcement. Tickets acquired.
Roll on June! :abbath:
Deadly announcement! I haven't seen Abbath/Immortal since Wacken '07.

I suspect it'll be songs on which he has a writing credit. This might be few, most, or all - dunno off the top of my head. So if your favourite ditty was solely credited to Demonaz, chances are it won't be played.
I could be way off on this, but it seems to be the setup for Dave Vincent's I Am Morbid. They play many of the Morbid Angel classics, but not ones he doesn't have a credit in.
I see Abbath now seems to have been somewhat renamed to his 'full' stage name of Abbath Doom Occulta. Strange.
Edit: just had a peep and it seems Abbath is credited on nearly everything so should be a good set list.
At the heart of Winter ;and Sons of Northern Darkness are the only two albums i really like.I find some of the early releaess unlistenable!.

immortal - 1993 720p
That is from the old Osmose DVD they use to give out free with orders. It has some Blasphemy songs on it also with Ace on vocals and some Angelcorpse songs from a 1998 tour.

I think he mainly plays stuff from SOND live. He'll surely throw some early stuff in though
Elitism 101 - you're supposed to love those early records and bemoan the likes of At The Heart of Winter for its commercial qualities and the fact you can hear what's going on.
At The Heart Of Wimter doesn't sound great to be honest.
It's like it was made overly loud or something. Great songs.
Northern Darkness is brilliant bit so is Battles.
I think they're all perfect!
Pure Holocaust and Sons would be my most listened to.
ATHOW is probably least listened to but the title track intro is incredible.
ATHOW is great it is after that when things turned to shit they did their Heartwork and Swansong albums followed by the dismal reunion album. But at least the last two albums after Abbath left were back on track again.
The latest album is excellent.
Damned In Black and Battles in The North for me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9M5oOe0ggc
There only seems to be a maximum of five Immortal songs in his recent setlists? I have his first solo one on LP and liked it. Might still go.
As far as I know these Immortal shows will only start in the summer. I saw an advertisement about the Immortal shows for some summer festivals a few weeks before the show here was announced but I didn't pay a lot of attention to it as I never thought we would be getting one of the dates.
I wouldn't be expecting him to play any non Immortal songs at this show.
Edit: It says on the most recent DME post about the show 'a full set of Immortal classics'
From the Abbath facebook
QuoteThis summer Abbath and his band will revisit the past and pay tribute to the legacy by performing a carefully selected set of old fan favorites and iconic metal anthems Abbath co-wrote and recorded between 1992 and 2009.
'Return to the Raven Realms Tour' will be framed by the most spectacular stage show Abbath ever has undertaken in his nearly 40-year long career.
Says Abbath:
- I can't wait to get back on stage this summer to perform some old favorites that I haven't played for a long, long time. Mark my words – It's going to be loud and epic!
Abbath Doom Occulta are:
Abbath – Guitar & Vocals
Ole Andre Farstad – Guitar
Andreas Salbu – Bass
Ukri Suvilehto - Drums
Return to the Raven Realms Summer Tour 2024
So definitely no solo material and this tour only begins on June 20th
Nice, thanks for clearing that up :abbath:
Not a lot of immortal songs in his recent setlist. Hope that changes with this gig!
The tour hasn't started yet read two posts above.

He's on the dry now I think
I think he went to rehab after that fall at the festival in Argentina.
Eternal Yers On The Path To The Cemetary Gates would be a good shout.
Any of them, it's a ferocious masterpiece. Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism doesn't get enough credit also, the sound on it is class. Battles in the North & At the Heart of Winter are obvious 10/10 imo but i still cant dissect the sound right on Blizard beasts. it just sounds off. Nebular Ravens Winter is an example of a great song let down by the recording. it worked completely Battles on the North however, that chaotic soundscape.
Blizzard Beasts is savage. It's so manic and in your face.
Diabolical would be my favourite and the first one I go to when listening to Immortal. I rarely listen to Blizzard Beasts because the production is so bad. Every time I saw the Abbath band live they played Nebular so I would be very surprised if that doesn't get played at this show. I think he even did a re-recording of it on one of the releases with his solo band.
I've heard somewhere that they were fairly influenced by Morbid Angel on Blizzard Beasts, which came out after they had toured together. I had never made the connection but went to listen to it again and there are MA-style riffs all over it. It's good but not my favourite. I am with you on Diabolical though, I spun that to death as a teenager.
Anything up to Damned in Black is solid, but I am hoping for some old tunes from DFM and Pure Holocaust.
Radical Research have dedicated an episode to Blizzard Beasts. It's very good.
It can be a chore to listen to the 2 fellas presenting the show sometimes but it's definitely worth checking out.
He did an introduction video for the Dublin show. It looks like he's back on the beer
 :abbath:

I saw it earlier and it's very Benny Hill to say the least.
Cheers Stearl.
Do yis reckon he puts the get up on when the band practices? I'd like to imagine he does.
I'd say he is still sober. He seems to have lightened up a bit lately, there was a video on their instagram warming up backstage and the band started jamming some Latin music and they started dancing, even Abbath himself
Would hit this in Belfast but a bit of a stretch for a Tuesday. Great supports too.
Love old immortal but I think abbath is an absolute clown .
Don't mind a bit of tongue in cheek messing but He takes it to another level with the idiotic behaviour .

I wonder if him wearing a hat with the old logo on it is a sign that the setlist could be great. Be interesting to see what song he is talking about. I was hoping it would be Cryptic Winterstorms but I looked up old setlists which shows they played that back on the early tours.
Abbath performing a full set of Immortal classics. Don't miss it! Tickets still available from Ticketmaster & usual outlets.

Had a look no surprises unfortunately basically the setlist you would have got had they played here back when touring All Shall Fall. What a let down for the song they never played live before to be from that album I was expecting something really old and obscure. Still some good stuff on the setlist and I know it will be a good gig. The band sounds good in those videos.
That's not a bad setlist to be fair, some heart of winter, sons and Pure Holocaust.
setlist isnt as caustic as id hoped :-\
Honestly don't know why anyone would have any interest in this .

I've never seen Immortal or Abbath live. The set list has a lot of my favourite Immortal songs in it. I'd be there in a heartbeat if it wasn't on a weeknight in Dublin.
Why do these gigs have to be during the week ffs
The bands should really hang around in hotels til the weekend in fairness .
Actually I'm of the opinion that no true misanthropic Black Metal band should ever play live but that's a whole other arguement.
Hail Darkthrone! Hail Deathspell Omega!
Anyone go to this how was it?
Yeah it was class, Abbath and the band were in great form, setlist was pretty good covering a track or two from all eras, seemed like a decent turnout too.
Was outrageous alright..set was a bit short tho
Good show but the setlist could have been a lot better and was shorter than the first gig posted on here last week. The set was too heavy on the shit era of the band (the last 3 albums with Abbath) and only 1 song each from the first 3 albums. At least we got a good few songs from At the heart. It was great to hear the call of the wintermoon live. Vocals were too low in the mix.
Good crowd for a Tuesday and I would definitely head along again if he came here with another Immortal set. His solo stuff is shite both on record and live so at this stage in his career he is probably best sticking to Immortal sets maybe do a first 3 albums only or one album in full next time around.
The merch was shite was hoping for an old Immortal logo shirt or even the hat he has been wearing in all of his recent pictures but everything was Abbath. He probably doesn't have the rights to sell Immortal stuff. I would have bought the socks for the laugh as a souvenir had they been €5 but they were €20.
What is the head dress thing he came out in for Mighty Ravendark? Looks a bit like what is on the cover of his last solo album. As much as Abbaths 'make black metal fun' antics annoy me I did laugh when he was playing the guitar beside the security guard and looking over his shoulder to see what he was doing on his phone. He does seem to be off the beer well he at least didn't drink during the show.
I thoroughly enjoyed that gig. A nice selection of songs (I'm in the camp that likes later era Immortal ;D ) but could have done with a few more as the set seemed so short at only 12 songs. I was hoping he might have thrown in Unsilent Storms In The North Abyss or anything else from Pure Holocaust. The Sun No Longer Rises, Withstand The Fall of Time and In My Kingdom Cold were particular highlights for me. Also, no feckin Solarfall!
The support acts were damn good too, especially The Crawling whose set seemed to be cut a bit short which was a shame, probably as it was all running about 10/15 mins behind schedule.
All in all, I'd go see Abbath again in a heartbeat if he came back with another Immortal setlist. The crowd seemed super into it all night and there was a great buzz about the place. Cheers for putting this on!
