Looking at accommodation there and it's like 200-300 a night in the hotels, never been to Sligo, have any tips on where I can get better value ?

What hotels are you looking at? The Glasshouse and the Sligo City Hotel (which was just reopened a week ago with a new name) are a literal two and three minutes walk to the venue.
There's also the Riverside Hotel (which is the opposite direction but only a fiver minute walk), which I have friends usually stay at when visiting.
There's the Sligo Park, and the Radisson, both are about 3km to 4km out of town (in opposite directions), and the Clayton Hotel (about 1.5km away). The Southern Hotel is about 1km away (though handy if you're arriving to Sligo via train or bus as it's next door to the stations)
It's worth googling to see if The Whitehouse Hostel is still a thing - it's a three minute walk from the venue.
Bed here for 108 for 2 nights, looks like a 20-25 min walk from the venue.
