Fenriz with Apollyon from Aura Noir and Bestial Tormentor from Infernö playing 80s style doom thrash. I think it sounds pretty cool. Fenriz vocals will divide opinion but they work for me in an Isengard sort of way. The music is riff heavy and catchy as hell.

Good man. I signed up to his patron the other day to try and get a listen but no joy without paying a sub. Sounds cool. I think his vocals work.
Punchy and weird. I'd like to hear more!
Musically mighty but those vocals are a dealbreaker. Not good.
Yeah I like the sound of that, bit Solitude Aeternus but less 'epic' doomy.
That is rifftastic. Can see the vocals putting people off but I like them. Good stuff.
Music is great and the vocals add to it rather than take away. Dunno how a full album of it would be.
Quality tune, straight to repeat, I'd def listen to an album of this. Logo and album art lazy though, logo especially, vectors too clean, doesn't reflect the aesthetic the music implies. Get it together Fenriz!
That's just a section fo the full artwork used for the single but admittedly, while better than that, it's still not great.
I'll be buying that when it comes out. The amateur Candlemass vocals don't ruin it and the riffs are killer.
That is ghastly had to turn it of after two mins.
Catchy tune, wouldnt mind hearing some more.
I'll take that over recent Darkthrone.
Yeah. Musically it is really strong. Fenriz's singing is Marmite but I'm ok with it. Would have been cool to hear him rein it in a bit but sure.
Thought the vocals were a bit of a pisstake at first, but given it a few more listens and they're growing on me. Might find a full album of them a bit much though
More shite to add to the fenriz CV.
Riffs are boring as fuck and the vocals are headache Inducing drunken man yodelling .
Fenriz needs to retire
Don't really get the controversy over the vocals tbh, that's the style of Candlemass-esque doom vocals, is it some sort of mental block knowing it's Fenriz doing them that's turning people off?
Funny, I've seen a few people mention Candlemass but it doesn't sound anything like any of their singers to me. A completely bizarre comparison. It sounds like Fenriz being Fenriz. Recent Darkthrone and Isengard albums spring to mind before I would ever consider any classic doom singers. The Lamp of Thoth would be a closer referent be point than Candlemass in terms of theatrics.
Tune is good craic and I actually like the full album artwork.
Where's the full artwork visible?
Vinterskugge on now, to fuck!

Ah well fair enough, that's more like it with the artwork alright. Band logo still looks too much like something made on a computer in the early 00s though.
Vocals are nothing at all like any of Candlemass' vocalists. Not sure how folk are coming up with that comparison. If anything, and they're not like them, but if anything they're closer to Cathedral than Candlemass.
I understood you to mean that that artwork was a snippet of a bigger piece. Looks ok.
Fair enough.
Second listen, of course its the dramatic and humourous approach to the vocals that might turn people off, but I would rather this than playing it safe or boredom.
I agree. Better than having another Robert Lowe clone or whatever. Although it could have been cool with Apollyon doing his gravelly thing over it as well. Into it none the less.
This is fucking great. Brilliant tack altogether.
Hey McLove remember I was saying to you in the other thread about "good bad vocals"?
Well these are the good bad ones
Riffs are smashing in this as well
I'm all for bad vocals as long as they are good  but you crossed the line regarding Dionysiaque. You actually made me cry. My corpsepaint was running and me queuing in Aldi at the time. It was so embarrassing.

I fucking love the vocals lads. Best thing about it.

Ah sorry about that. I'd have pretended I liked the vocals if I knew you had feelings
Enjoying this much more than I thought I would. Nowt wrong with the vocals, completely over the top at times which is fine by me!
Love fenriz singing on the Isengard LP s but this isn't good .
Cash in .
I suppose who can blame him really

"Cash in"
I wonder how much the band would make from this?
How many would be pressed?
4,5k?
More?
What would they get per release, say vinyl?
€2-3?
€5k each maybe
Jaysus, I need to start a band !!!!
Probably only sell 2 though
How bad
Haha yeah. I doubt 80s inspired doom/thrash will get them on Top of the Pops. I do wonder if they intend to play live though. I wonder if ol' Gylve is feeling the itch but DT have painted themselves into a corner over the decades. Maybe, maybe not.
The vocals sound like someone doing a send up of the christian band Saint.
Vocals and track are pure class to me. Don't think I've heard a note of anything Darkthrone have released in the last 15+ years prob. This is really cool though.
Lamp of Thoth is a great point of reference.
Cash in ;D
I'd say if he wanted to cash in a Darkthrone tour could do line his pockets fairly well. Might actually pick this one up.

Old Star is savage. Def give it a lash. None of the rest have clicked.
I think it's The Wandering Midget the vocals reminds me of the most in parts, must dig them out again too. What a name.
TWM is more Rev Biz worship.
Had an initial wtf reaction to the vocals as well, but after listening to this a lot for the past 2 weeks I'm starting to love them. There is something very Spinal Tap-y about them all the same. The riffs just drag you in though. Same way I got into screamed vocals back in the day with Pantera; hated the vocals at first but the riffs were so good I just kept listening and got used to them, then loved them.
They smell your underweaaarr!!!
Full album out now.

Oh, must give this a blast later.
Decent, doesn't necessarily hold the attention it grabs with the opening track, but definitely worth a second listen.
Just listening to this now, absolutely love it!!!
Everything I like about 80s metal is there. Plus the drums sound is the best I've heard in a long time, everything is crystal clear and it still sounds 0% synthetic.
I've no issues with the vocal whatsoever, but I am probably less sensitive to weird tones for clear English vocals than a native speaker would be, so I see where everyone is coming from about the vocals. FENRIZ's video about the vocal influences for recording this album says it all though...
