Title: Crimson Glory
Post by: Bürggermeister on January 20, 2024, 05:05:55 PM
Crimson Glory are back, new album on the way with a new singer. This is right up my street, I have to say. They're playing Keep It True in October, might have to make a trip over for it.

First album is an absolute classic. Transcendence never clicked for me but I didn't give it much time either.

Decent track, but the vocals are a bit... stock

Huge fan of the first three albums. Midnight was anything but stock.

First two albums for me are classics.  I like the song, probably pick up the album but a massive part of Crimson Glory's appeal was Midnight vocals.

Strange & Beautiful is worth checking out. It's such an improbable yet, if you give it time, excellent album. Priest does Zeppelin with a bit of Tears for Fears sheen...? I dunno, but I love it.

It just didn't click at all with me when I got it.  Been a while since I listened to it so maybe I'll give it another go.

It's at the very least better, and more musically honest, than anything Queensryche tried in this general direction around the same period.
