Title: Green Lung
Post by: Eoin McLove on November 05, 2023, 01:12:09 AM
I've been aware of this band's name and cool artwork through Svart Records updates but never checked them out for whatever reason. Today I clicked on the new album (on Nuclear Blast I think) and was very surprised. I thought they were going to be some sort of retro hippy prog folk, not balls to the wall hard rock. They sound not a million miles (nor a thousand, nor maybe even a hundred or ten) away from Ghost at their more hard rocking and are similar to Melbourne's True Believer as well, which is more likely to be coincidence. I really like the old spooky folk horror lyrics and aesthetics too- you can seldom go far wrong with that. I think I'll have to keep an eye out for their CDs GOING FORWARD!

Yeah I've been meaning to check them out, kind of ignored them when they first came out as I thought they were going to be standard stoner stuff judging by the name, first track sounds cool there though.

I see Metal Archives has them listed as stoner. Maybe the earlier stuff is but this one sounds to me like classic rock, 80 hair/heavy metal and prog. I don't hear any obvious stoner references.

Good catchy doomy band. Looking forward to giving the new one a spin.
