Title: Dolly Parton busts out rock album
Post by: Black Shepherd Carnage on June 17, 2023, 09:38:27 AM
Ye've probably heard this was on the way, and if it was just her doing a rock album it wouldn't be worthy of posting in main forum.

BUT... where else should a duet with Rob Halford go!?

Catchy song, has to be said, even if it's far too glossy for my ears.

Goddamn, I was prepared to hate it but it's a cool song. Very 80s, very Priest. It's got a good dark edge to the melody and lots of big hair guitar playing. It sounds to me like Priest featuring Dolly rather than vice versa. It would be nice to hear that get play on the radio.

I actually quite like that.  Not sure I'd buy the album but that is a decent track.

Is it the song she did at the Hall Of Fame show? Haven't had a chance to play it.

Cradle of Filth with Ed Sheeran, Dolly rocking with Rob n Nikki.....

Yeah, apologies in my head the gates of Metal remain closed to listening to this.

Narrow minded I may be..... in my head rightly so!

I'll wear my Nails or Blessed are the sick tour shirt in when I buy this and recreate the moment I bought reload!

Just checked it out and ya, not bad. Have the Ann Wilson tune on now and that's fairly good as well. They're obviously both quite sterile but that's to be expected.

It's not bad, wouldn't be gone on the Ann Wilson one though.

Dolly's brilliant, fully aware of how ridiculous she is but fully committed to doing her thing. Jolene is one of the greatest songs of all time.
