Priest finally making it to Dublin, 3 arena!
About bloody time
Now that's a lineup.
Awesome!!!!!!!!
Hope Plainride get added too.
Big venue for that Line up i would have thought!

Saxon just sold out the Olympia in March so I can see it doing well.
Ah I'd say they'll go for the 5K configuration.
Any word on prices?
68 standing I think. Tickets out Friday
FUCK YES!
Quote from: Pagan Saviour on May 02, 2023, 11:13:07 AMAh I'd say they'll go for the 5K configuration.
Does that just close the seating is it?
Pretty much , sometimes they leave a small amount of seats available.
I think the last one (2009, with Testament and Megadeth ) had reasonable attendance but there was a huge amount of seats blocked off.
Great lineup!
Tickets sorted. I fucking hate giving Ticketmaster my money but it's a necessary evil!
Priest and Emperor in the space of a couple of weeks, 2024 is shaping up nicely already!
Not familiar with Uriah Heep at all, where to start?

Sweet, checking them out now! Going to the show anyway but may as well get bang for buck!
Looks like it's mostly seating except for a bit up the front ... Strange one! I'll defo go, never seen them so will be unreal either way
Only problem with that line-up is it makes you feel older and older as you go down the list tbh. Strange one that they didn't try to get one young blood band in there. I mean, they probably would have picked someone shit, but at least the poster wouldn't give the impression that the event might at any moment be moved to a marquee in the garden of a retirement home.
Yeah it might've been a better move alright, those three bands largely appeal to the same demographic.
A couple of years ago I'd have been all over this. Given the prices of hotel rooms now I just can't be bothered.

Yes, they'll definitely be crawling out of the woodwork for this one..... should be good though....
I was at the Saxon show in Belfast back in march, a few days before my 45th and I was by far a young one in comparison to the rest of the crowd.
OAP arena
Young lad would kill to see Priest. Not so sure he'd be arsed with Saxon or the Heep.
Saxon are savage live. Never seen Uriah Heep but seems like an amazing opener. Perfect build of a line up.
Shit line up. Saxon are just Anvil without a film.
Never heard of the other band.
OK. Feel free to vent.
Someone's been on the Proper 12
Standing sold out now anyways
Real shame this is mostly seated, not gonna bother now as i've missed whatever standing was available.
I've seen them twice in the Odyssey in Belfast, great gigs - but who the fuck wants to sit down and watch Priest?! I can stick on a classic Priest DVD in the house if i want a "seated experience" (and i can drink and smoke to my hearts content for next to nothing!)... i get they're an older band and attract an older audience, but fuck seated Metal gigs.
Real shame, I was looking forward to seeing again them as it's been 14 years since their last visit - but given neither Downing or Tipton are in the band, i don't see the point in getting rinsed to sit and watch a facsimile of a once great band.
Checked tickets for Glasgow, same bullshit but with "Platinum seating" price tiers - £112.30 for a half decent seat.
I nabbed a couple of seated tix.
Will probably take the young fella, so not an issue.
Plus... Saxon and Uriah Heep... Can't wait!
There's about 150 years of rockin' between them all.
Same as, tickets for myself and the young lad. Priest gig is a bucket list thing for me. One of my favourite band.
Standing is being increased. If you've bought seats you'll be contacted with the offer to swap if you want to stand.
Sentinel saying on their Instagram they'll be getting more standing next week too.
Quote from: Nixer on May 04, 2023, 02:54:13 PMShit line up. Saxon are just Anvil without a film.

Very unfair. Saxon do have a film of sorts.
I hate the dripped release of seats, at the moment if you go to buy tickets you can only buy on the lower tiers way off to the sides in blocks A and G. I'd rather sit in the middle on an upper tier I think than in the sidemost blocks.
Same with Iron Maiden, if you logged in at 0900 on the dot to buy seats you were punished for it because the (best) C, D and E block seats were released later presumably after nobody bought the platinum packages.
Quote from: Neuromancer on May 05, 2023, 11:09:10 AMReal shame this is mostly seated, not gonna bother now as i've missed whatever standing was available.
Standing available at the moment.
Yeah it's a pain in the hole practice alright. Definitely done that way for Ghost and Slayer there in recent years, if you hang on and check regularly a better block will pop up.
Wouldn't it make more sense to sell as many standing tickets first given the size of the floor space!?
Usually bands of these respective ages draw attendees who might not be capable of standing for a few minutes, never mind hours.
Is getting contacted about swapping for standing tickets just a random draw?
Bought two tickets at 10am Friday and there was no standing, got two seated instead, tried messaging Ticketmaster but haven't heard anything back yet.
Heard back from Ticketmaster and they told me I can't swap the seated tickets for standing ones because the seated tickets were more expensive.
You'd probably find someone on Facebook or the like that'd be willing to trade once it gets closer to the date, in metal groups or wherever.

Well the new seats finally showing on my Ticketmaster account now. Opted to keep seats and got moved from block D to a fair few rows back in block F.
Not really many bad seats in 3 arena but still defeats the purpose of logging on early/paying extra for the better seats.
Judas Prius
I opted for standing.
Sorry I didn't keep seated now.

Got a €20 refund for switching, though.
I bought seated tickets months ago which arrived. A strange turn of events though as a pair of standing tickets arrived last week. Not sure if I should sell the seated tickets in cases the standing don't work I'll probably bring both to the gig and chance the standing will work. I dunno

I assume it's the seated tickets that will no longer work. You might have an email about it buried in your spam folder.
HiAce On Fire
Hi folks. Used to be a poster on the old metal ireland forum and have been just following stuff on this forum.
I got a little shtung by ticketmaster for this gig - purchased 2 seating tickets and the email stating the change in layout plan passed me by. After the 3 weeks were up, they changed my tickets to standing. Unfortunately, this doesn't suit. Got zero help from ticketmaster, which isn't too surprising.
So, im looking to swap 2 standing tickets for 2 seating tickets if anyone was interested in helping out? I think you can do a direct tranfer on the ticketmaster app these days? But would be willing to revolut a few quid extra if someone sorted me out with this.

I'm in a sort of similar boat. Bought seated, decided wanted standing instead (before they posted about the offer to change to standing) sold the seated through Ticketmaster and bought standing. That was grand, received my standing tickets not too long after. Then a couple of weeks ago I receive new standing tickets with the order number of the original seated tickets that were sold months ago. I get they send tickets before you sell them sometimes but no idea why I'm recieving more tickets for the ones I sold months after the person who bought them would have received them. I suppose I'll just bring both tickets too just in case.
Bit of a shit show by the sounds of it. They emailed me and said I have been changed to standing and sent a partial refund to cover the fact paid for seating. Win win ha ha

A date for this was announced in Pamplona, which is pretty random but suits us down to the ground as we both have family there so babysitter sorted in advance. Grabbed tickets this morning, just hope this time nothing goes wrong between now and me finally getting to see Priest! :abbath:
I know that feeling. I missed Gospel Of The Horns so many times you'd swear I didn't want to see them.
This is looking doubtful for me now!
Might have a couple of standing tickets to sell. :'(

Should have one standing for sale too. Physical ticket
More importantly any further car puns

Got a ticket recently so looking forward to this big time now. They were really good in the Point that time with Testament and Megadeth.
I'm a huuuuge fan of Uriah Heep's Demons and Wizards album, but I don't know any of their other stuff well, so that's something to do between now and then.
Don't know the first thing about Saxon- which album should I start with?
Wheels Of Steel, can't beat it.
I'd go for Wheels Of Steel myself, but I'm not all that knowledgeable about them. I have never listened to Uriah Heep at all. Might give them a listen closer the time.
It seems they (Saxon) have a new one out (or about to come out), this sounds alright. Reminded me of Priest actually and yes, that is Brian Tatler on guitar:
https://youtu.be/UvJ1T_tGSBc?si=KzIJDygc0fmhleeX
Had never gotten around to listening to Heep either but made a playlist based on their most recent setlist when this gig was announced and have gotten into them.
New Saxon album is also out this week. I've enjoyed both new Priest songs.
The first four or five Saxon albums are great. I've only picked up a few of the rest over the years. But the most recent three or four have been great also.
Brian Tatler plays live with Saxon now too. Standing in for Paul Quinn.
And then there's this, which is a bit of craic at least...

I've been offered a lift to this so it's back on the table but I'll see what ticket prices are like in the couple of weeks closer to it. I'm not paying north of €75 for just Priest (never heard a note of Uriah Heep so have zero interest there).
Two standing tickets for sale. €76.90 plus fees. €150 for the pair. Mobile transfer through Ticketmaster.

Uriah Heep - 6.40
Saxon - 7.45
Judas Priest - 9.20
Nice, I had no intention of watching Uriah Heep. Can take my time after work.
Ah lads. Halford is god tier.
Class gig. Fine form. That man is 72 years old, must be gratifying to see young lads circle pitting and crowd surfing to tunes after 50 years!
Whole gig was class from start to finish. Was a little dissappointed they weren't playing Crown of Horns off the new album when I saw the setlists from the previous nights so was delighted to hear it. Live debut for Sword of Damocles as well and pulling out You Don't Have to be Old. Rob is just pure class. He sounded better and seemed to be more mobile than in clips I'd watched from the Firepower/50 years tours.
Biff 73 years old now as well, unbelievable really.
I had a great time. Not a big Saxon fan but they were class. I don't think its possible to praise the Priest performance enough. Got a decent little perch six rows in. Happy out with how everything went.
Deadly gig! I didn't know any Uriah Heep material but I thought they were class. Saxon were class but that Roswell song from the new album is terrible!
Priest were brilliant. A great night.
Uriah Heep, shit name but they played great.
Never heard a note of Saxon before, they were class and what a treat to see Brian Tatler from Diamond Head walk out on stage!
Priest were unreal. Class night.
Looked a great crowd judging by clips on social media!
Priest were savage. My first time seeing them and thought they were top notch. Halford is a legend. Plenty of classics in the set.
Saxon were unreal too, no idea Brian Tatler was with them. Their new tunes were okay but the classic ones towards the end were great.
Thought Uriah Heep were savage despite a short set. Would have liked to have hear Too Scared to Run or one of those tunes but still thought they were great.
Plenty of no craic corpses where we were though, still a decent crowd.
Was it close to full or were there sections closed off?
Lower tier of seats was full, curtains were up for the top tier except for the 3 central blocks which were open. Standing was packed. If the 3arena is 13k you'd imagine it must have been around 10k or so. Just guessing.
I was really impressed by Uriah Heep - I really don't know much of their stuff and they rocked way more than I expected. Priest were just typically unreal. Great seeing everyone there!
Amazing show from top to bottom, wish Priest didn't swap Victim of Changes out but hearing Sinner was worth it. Wouldn't bother with Saxon much on record but their performance was great, I'd love to see Uriah Heep do a headline set too, the organ is an underutilised instrument in metal.
The Priest fuckimg rocked Dublin
Great setlist, Sinner, Saints in hell, TurboL, Crown of horns all class
I have never heard a note of Uriah Heep, can someone recommend an album to get started with?
Really enjoyed the gig and I loved Priest but that fucking typewriter drum sound...christ.
They need to get Saxon's sound engineer.

Diasappointed we didn't get Victims or Beyond The Realms of Death but fucking savage craic. Now I was well sauced, but did they make a balls of Green Manalishi?

I don't think so (was also well sauced though 😂)
Bass on Manilishi was full distort and savage that's what you heard. In fairness there were a few lads well sauced.
Given said saucing, I'll happily afford them the benefit of the doubt
Wasn't sauced (driving) and don't remember any fuck ups.
Was definitely the distortion on the bass you heard cause I spotted it myself, was pretty much the first time I looked at Ian Hill all gig when I heard it.
The Green Malanashi sounded great from where I was.
Caught this last night in Pamplona. Great to finally see them. Rob was class, setlist nothing remotely like what I'd have made as a wishlist, but that was expected. Panic Attack came across best from the new stuff. Nice to see the little tributes to Tipton up on the screens during a couple of his classic solo spots. No such grace for KK
