STRANGLE WIRE are a 4 Piece Death Metal Band hailing from Belfast Northern Ireland. Formed by four guys determined to leave their mark on the worldwide Death Metal Scene. Having being collectively involved in bands for over several decades such as CONDEMNED, THE OBSCENE MACHEINE, ZOMBIFIED, HELPLESS, LESSHELP, WAR IRON, ONCOLOGY, FUCKHAMMER, PUTREFY and more,
Branding themselves as Psychological Death Metal, STRANGLE WIRE's artwork and lyrical concepts attempt to capture the darker parts of the human condition.
STRANGLE WIRE deliver fast, groove laden and devastatingly heavy death metal.
2022 saw Strange Wire release their latest studio album 'Shaped by Human Frailty' which was met by an incredible response due to its non stop catchy riffs which honestly for my were some of my favorite riffs of the year , the intensity of the album from each member never lifts and its a great record for old school death metal heads but it also doesn't sound like anyone else , Strangle Wire very much have their own sound , I wouldn't change the formula one bit .
We have had Strangle Wire play for us numerous times before and the live show is just so intense and crushing , and then there's the merch , Strangle Wire are up there for me for best merch designs in the country for Irish Metal bands , be sure to have a look on their band camp which I will link below

Line-up is set, I'm afraid.
Looking forward to this. The last few Urban Assaults always felt like little Cork mini-Sieges. The one in 2018 with Bailer and Ten Ton Slug topping the bill was one of the best local shows I've seen in the country. Shame there's no more bands on the lineup to be honest, should be an all-dayer! Should still be cracking.
I'll take a pre-order shirt

Committing to another all-dayer just isn't possible this time. So we opted for a more condensed, quality over quantity, lineup.
Invictus Productions and Sentinel Records will be flogging their goods on the day, also.

Abaddon Incarnate will go on last to finish off the crowd and level the place.
We're aiming to have them on stage just before 11pm.

On behalf of Danny and Myself(John), we honestly cannot thank everyone enough.
THANKS A MILLION!
ROLL ON SATURDAY! 🤘
Nicely done :abbath:
Yeah great work!
Great day!,was there mainly for Hasturian Vigil,For Ruin and Abaddon Incarnate.
All 3 were class, slipped out for MB set (not into them really) and caught Wiplash ,Metallica cover band in Carne lane.Legged it back for Abaddon Incarnate, great set.I have to say I wasnt always a fan, caught them a few times in the late 90s and I was just turned off them,a sloppy mess!.But theyve won me over in recent times.Your man Steve Maher is a gas cunt!,would have you in stitches with the in between song banter
Well done to all involved, seemed a huge success.
Well done John and Danny!
Mourning Beloveth were great
A great opening track, and brilliant finish
Might have to pick up another album of theirs :abbath:
Missed the others as was watching the telly/sport, eating, being lazy ;D
Thanks a million to everyone who turned out for this.
Minor hiccups before Strangle Wire... It was a cracking evening.
Atmosphere the whole way through was fantastic.
Some vids and stuff coming through online.
First up...
Hadn't been home to a Cork gig in years, great night overall. Was late travelling down so was disappointed to miss Hasturian Vigil. A solid shift was put in by all but Abbadon were fucking class. Hasn't seen them in years.
A great day put. Craic was deadly. All bands played well. Abaddon and strangle wire were fantastic.
Good gig and a great turn out, was good to catch up with some old heads.
Hasturian Vigil, For Ruin and Mourning Beloveth were great.
Great day out..more of this please in Cork
More footage of The Grief, Mourning Beloveth and Abaddon Incarnate...
Any footage of the fella filling the sink with vomit!?
I knew it was going to be a good day when we came out of the Oval around 5.30 and there was already a big puddle of vomit on the footpath outside the venue!

It was like in Jaws when they gutted a random shark they caught.
I was kinda hoping there would be a licence plate poking out if the sink.

That photo needs a scrawled logo and it can be the latest release from one of the goregrind labels.
At least the poor bastard had the decency to heave that mess into the sink and not pebbledash the walls and floor.
Serious craic altogether. Fair play to John and Danny. Good to be back in Cork again. Shame about the short set. Aplogies...16ohm cab input was broken. Pints of Beamish were lovely.
That happens surprisingly (or unsurprisingly) often in the Spailpin
Absolute fucking cracking night of misery. I'm still on a high and it's carrying me through work this week.
I'm a dub in Cork and have only managed to get to a few gigs in Freds and now this and I'm absolutely loving the Cork Metal scene. I have such admiration and personal thanks to the promotors and people behind the scenes making all this happen. More misery and metal please! Looking forward to next years Assault 8) :abbath:

Some lad in a dress filled the sink with puke in the upstairs toilet at the last Siege, there was a bin right beside it!
Same person was passed out on the ground outside about 2 hours later, bouncer standing by him waiting for an ambulance.
Wonder if it's the same fella
Thanks to everyone who came and especially the many who bough FR and Grief merch on the day! Great day out all told, great crew on the day, great organization and promo and the most obliging sound engineer ever in Tomas. Bravo!
