No thread for them, but likely a few fans in here. New Dodheimsgard album announced a few days back, details here: https://peaceville.com/bands/dodheimsgard/
No music up off it yet though. Will be keeping an eye on this, absolutely loved the last album, still listen to it regularly.
Was only listening to 666 International the other day. This should be decent
Yeah, definitely looking forward to this one. Saw them here a couple of months ago but don't recall them playing anything new.

How are they live? I had imagined the music was fairly wild to be carried well by a live band but I've often been proven wrong with this thought before.

This is great anyway. Only one tune off the last album.
Aye, they were class live. The musicians are just solid as fuck, allowing yer man to be as avant-garde and theatrical as he pleases on top of it.
I saw that they had a new one out alright and were doing a tour,I havent listened to their later stuff in years.
Monumental and 666 international were the only albums I was familiar with.

Ah grand a full set, I'll give that a lash during the week. I enjoyed their earlier albums too, had a taped copy of 666 international years that got played to death.

Deadly, yeah jesus they'd want to be good to pull this stuff off live!
New tune up. A long, slow number. Reminds me a bit of The Sham Mirrors.
That new song sounded pretty good .I might pick this up
I don't hear The Sham Mirrors in it. It reminds me more of recent Enslaved in parts but then again, it is kind of just doing its own thing. I like it.
Great track, loads of depth, looking forward to the rest :abbath:
The Sham Mirrors is the sort of twinkling astral sounds. I apologise for that description but can't think of a better wording.
Savage album none the less. Going to throw it in the car tomorrow 8)
full album out today, excited for this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4OgOxdhNoQ
Just spotted that too, can't listen to it until this evening mind...

Maybe Below The Lights is falling into third place for tonight
It's an incredible release but I expected as much. I've only listened through 3 times but it's easily an AOTY contender for me. So wonderfully crafted, and such a natural progression from AUO. A rare album that I want to start again as soon as I've played through it. Sublime
Instant purchase for me there after those plaudits Vadge even though they are a band that largely evaded me throughout the years .Maybe this will be the start of the voyage back through their output.
Ah fuck this is fantastic.
Sounds great alright. Intricate, delicate and the coarse vocals are ace.
Music reminds me of Arcturus and the vocals The Shining in parts.
The choon 'Halow' is a highlight.
Gave it a first listen this morning. Bloody great!
Listening to this the last few days. It's very cool and reminds me of the sham mirrors in parts. I'd never really listened to them before cos I always assumed they were industrial black metal type stuff but this album is great. Had a quick listen to the ones before and they sound good too.

Yeah it is class. Finding it hard to pick a favourite, or even note a weak one, here. Whole thing is excellent. Great variety on it and the more straight up BM parts on it are mixed in a way that makes them sound particularly dense and whirlwind on the headphones too. Don't see this coming out of rotation any time soon.
Fantatsic album, on repeat these past few days. Love the flow and it just seems to have everything.
Just halfway through first full listen here, but wow, this is really something else, even by DHG's standards! :abbath: :abbath:
Is this the most eclectic metal album I've ever heard? I think it's definitely the best eclectic metal album I've ever heard anyway. Ah deadly; having one of "those" first time listening experience, can't beat 'em :abbath:
It really is incredible work! Did anyone manage to get a vinyl copy? Sold out from peaceville

My first spin of it was after a feed of pints, two good hoots and on the headphones. Leading quickly to the earlier "ah fuck this is fantastic" then even faster to falling asleep on the couch, so I had to give it a restart the following morning  I wasn't wrong though, it is great.
Yep, it really is an outrageous piece of work, one of those albums where I can't envisage getting to a stage where I know it inside out or even what's coming next , I've been through it four times now and it's a completely different experience each time.
Incidentally, as a hotel night porter, it doesn't half lend a certain film noir tone to a dark , deserted lobby at four in the morning.

Jpc.de have it
The new album is good but I will have to pass on a physical copy for now it is far too expensive even by Peaceville standards. Will just do what I did with the last album wait a few years until the price drops.
Yeah, christ, 47 before delivery from jpc.de there. Will have to do same as... have already gone past my budget for this month! :abbath:
Had a listen when it leaked a week or two ago and just back to it now. Great stuff. Plenty to unpack. In most other cases the little dnb bits wouldn't work but everything fits here. There's def a few bits when I get an Arcturus vibe like the end of the first tune and the preview track, second last.
So I listened to this last night.
Fuck. It's brilliant

I fuckin told you and I bet you still didn't listen to that Rezn album ah jesus
I've been dipping in and out of this album the past few days and I think it's really good. Not especially dark, maybe not especially black metal for the most part but quite captivating in its own way. I can hear similarities to Dold Vorde Ens Navn in places, for obvious reasons, and I have grown to be quite a big fan of Vicotnik's vocals in recent years. He has so much character and an immediately recognisable identity. Apparently he has a new band on the go with a similar sounding name to Dødheimsgard which harkens back to their early sound so I'll have to check that out. Might grab this CD at some point as it's one that would work in the car.

If you are talking about Doedsmaghird they have only released one song so far on a Peaceville comp that came out last month. As far as I know no actual releases from that band have been announced yet.
Yep, that's it.

Deal! :abbath:
Peaceville orders are shipping from England so after customs you will still end up paying over €40. I found a copy the other day for €34 within the EU was the last one in the store and they also had the Sinister Slaughter reissue so I went for it because the way this record is currently selling it won't be around for too long. The last album didn't move anywhere near as fast as this one when it was released.
It's on amazon too... 37 pounds but that'll get you the free shipping if anyones not averse to buying from them
My order with burning shed there came out at about €43 in total, including shipping from UK to France, VAT and customs already accounted for. More than I'd usually spend on a DLP for sure, but once I'm ten or so listens deep, I won't be thinking about that anymore at all.
With all the hype surrounding the new album I wonder will we finally get a show or shows in Ireland.
This gets better with every listen, lot going on in it.
Really like that it does not follow track.

This took until today to arrive. Guess ordering from the UK to France, with everything going on in both countries at the moment, ain't the best idea right now
Still, cheers again for saving me a few bob guvna!

No hassle!
I got myself a physical copy of this last week after just one listen on Youtube beforehand. I could tell it was going to be something that required repeat listens.
There's plenty going on anyway! They're like a black metal Mr. Bungle at times.
Lovely production too. With proper headphones it would really shine.
Great album. I would say I'm surprised but the previous album was pretty good too.
