Iron Maiden will be bringing a new tour to Europe in the Summer of 2023 including arena shows in the UK & Ireland. THE FUTURE PAST TOUR will feature previously unperformed songs from the band's most recent studio album, Senjutsu along with a focus on 1986's iconic Somewhere In Time record, plus other classic cuts.
Iron Maiden will play 3Arena on 24 June 2023.
Says founder member and bassist Steve Harris,
"Following the release of our latest album, Senjutsu, we updated the current Legacy of the Beast Tour a little by opening the show with the first 3 songs from it, with the Japanese Palace stage set. As it doesn't make a lot of sense to repeat this for a Senjutsu album tour, we thought about other options and we've decided to revisit Somewhere In Time as that tour didn't feature in the various retrospective history tours we've played over the years. They were based on our 80's concert videos and sadly we did not film that tour (blame the manager!!). We have had lots of requests from fans over the years for many tracks on it so we are now going to play them, plus of course a few others we know you will like! It will also be particularly satisfying to finally get to play some of the more epic tracks on Senjutsu, it's been a long wait! 2023 is going to be an exciting time and we're really looking forward to seeing everyone again in the UK, Ireland and around Europe".
Manager, Rod Smallwood adds,
"This combination of the two albums we feel is very exciting. We know fans want to hear those epic cuts on Senjutsu for the first time live and we think that by combining it with an iconic album like Somewhere In Time it will make for another really special tour for fans old and new! Of course, for a new album tour in Europe and the UK we will go back largely to the relative intimacy of arenas and we know fans will be very happy about that too!"
The band are currently in North America in the final stages of their spectacular Legacy Of The Beast World Tour, interrupted for two years by Covid with many shows rescheduled twice. The tour actually started in Tallin, Estonia in May 2018, the first of 139 shows in 33 countries. By the last show in Tampa, Florida on Oct 27 this year the band will have played to over THREE MILLION fans on this epic world tour.

Will we finally get Alexander The Great? Probably not but it sounds decent regardless.
Looks like it
Delighted to see this.
Somewhere in time is one of my favourite Maiden albums.
Always wanted to hear the loneliness of the long distance runner live.
Dunno which songs from SIT. Looks like Alexander the Great finally cause Bruce and Nicko have spoken about it a lot recently. Stranger in a Strange Land was played in the backing of the video for the tour announcement.
Unreal..My favourite maiden album of all time..hopefully they kept the Gallien Krueger amps for this..Will respect them more if they dont play Alexander the Great after all this to be honest ;D
3 presales are up, general sales Friday 14th.
The Cure in December was going to be my last gig but I can't pass this up.
Broke the bank on Depeche Mode but in fairness that's a cool tour concept, a shit hot poster and it's a Saturday night!
SiT is probably my favourite Maiden album, but I hate the idea of spending €100 on one concert. Might wait to see what the setlist is like before getting a ticket
I felt the urge to check for gigs today. Eddie must have been calling me.
Unbelievable news. Is never a bad thing to reminisce on the year that gave us Reign in Blood, Master of Puppets, Pleasure to Kill and Darkness Descends. That's before I even mention what I deem is Maiden's most underrated album from their classic 80's discography. Saturday night is an added bonus but may be tempered somewhat by the fumble in the greasy till mentality of the hotel chains. I may finally have to shell out on Senjutsu. Been putting if off long enough. Couldn't make Belfast last June as had to take infants to second class on a school tour to Tayto Park the follwing morning but there's no way this will be missed.
You missed Game Over, the year's best thrash release.
I'm just looking forward to the SIT tracks, but I'm hoping it's not just the usual.ones (Wasted Years, Heaven Can Wait etc.) plus Stranger... and another token one. Deep cuts, that's what we need.
Thinking of flying home for this, depending on the price of flights. Iron Maiden are my favourite band but I think Stranger in a strange land is an awful song, hopefully they skip that one in favour or something else.
Any southern brethren help a nordie out with a 3Plus presale link/code?
Missus picked up tickets this morning. Woo hoo ! :abbath: :abbath:

PM'd you there
Are you better off not bothering with these presales for seated tickets?
I went to buy 3 seats this morning and was being offered block G, fairly off to the side, I know there was a fanclub presale starting yesterday but I wonder if they bung the shittier seats in the presales and you're better off just trying to log on 9am general sale day for the more central seats?
Thanks to both Exiled In Ennis & Born Of Fire - 2 standing tickets aquired.

I often thought that.
Yeah, I was offered a code for today but I'm content to wait 'til Friday and take my chances. If I got a decent balcony seat I'd take it, but the floor will do.
Standing tickets acquired, that'll do me.
Want to bring the kids to this as their first gig.want fairly central seats though.
Don't know how this big gig carryon works though.will more tickets be released or do I just grab what ever I can get ?
Any help appreciated
Same as that.
Want to take the young fella.
Are the seats only on the top tier?
Blocks H to P.
These seem to be the only tickets available.
Nothing for blocks A to G or standing?

When I was getting my tickets at a couple of minutes past nine yesterday morning the only seats I was offered was the upper tier, so I got standing instead.
Couldn't see any options for anything other than upper tier tickets.
Got a couple up in the Gods in block 'K'. All the others were way off to the sides, so just grabbed them.
It'll be the young lads first gig, so had to get them. He'll love it No matter what.
Just have to keep quiet about it now until Xmas. :P
Edit:
By the looks of it most of the good lower tier seats were snapped up in the Pre-Sales.
Looks like no standing left either?
Yeah same as that now .block k.
Was on the eye out for a gig to bring the kids to and this is ideal.
Seems like it's nearly sold out, which surprises me given the price, and the fact they'll be playing a lot of new stuff.
Is there something on in Dublin that weekend? Hotels are either booked out or ridiculously expensive, even for tourist season.
It's insane alright.
I'm well used to not bothering and taking in shows and suffering a long bus journey back such is the way but I'm unsure me brother could hack that and am meant to be bringing him.
Blur are on that night too and more difficult to navigate public transport outside Dublin out at that venue there by show end I take it not sure if that's a main factor but would defo add to it I guess.
I can't get a bus home after 10PM from Dublin, and I'm not gonna bugger off to catch it after half an hour of Maiden. I'm going with a mate so we'll figure something out between us.
I was having a look recently for another gig and €350 hotel room and €40 hostel bed seems to be the new normal in the city centre for weekend nights in Dublin.
I see the Jury's Inn is €400 that night. I am also going to the gig in Prague and booked a 4 star hotel for 3 nights and 2 tickets for the gig for about that much.
I reckon we'll get the train over and throw my brother a ton to pick us up after, be grand. Fuck hostels TBH.
Lord of the Lost announced as support, again.
Any cop? I didn't bother with their support last time they played Dublin, they were shite.
I saw them as support twice on the tour this year and thought they were fine, competent but quite bland.

I see you've got Galway as your location. There's a Citylink that leaves at 11.59 and get's in 2.30am if it's any good to you.
Ah, that's news to me. Nice one, cheers.
The Raven Age have been announced as support for this leg of the tour. Steve Harris' son's metalcore band. Few extra pints in the pub beforehand so.
It's Lord of the Lost, The Raven Age are playing a festival in Switzerland that day.
That being said Lord of the Lost have just released their new single and ehhh I think I will be coming for pints too.
Jesus.

christ almighty
I wouldn't be into whatever genre that is (nu-metal pop goth?), but that synth solo during the last minute was actually pretty cool
Don't know what you would call that. Serious euro vision vibe off it.
Its all a bit gay ted. :abbath:
Fuck that shit!
Why do they do this.
Just get a proper support band to suit the crowd.
Thought they did.
British Lion (Steve Harris' other band) are playing Opium on the 23rd of June, the day before this gig.

Setlist looks great, a good selection of stuff from SIT and the new album, lots of classics dropped as well. They've put a bit of work into the set/show too and Bruce sounding pretty good. Can't wait.
Listening to the debut here at the minute actually. Bruce sounds fucking great on this one 8)

Ballsy setlist from Maiden but glad I didn't bother trying to get a ticket now - not enough interest in either of the 2 albums that make up the guts of the show.
Hello people. Just joined forum. Have a maiden spare if anyone interested
Went back and listened to the new album, particularly the songs they are going to be playing Saturday and actually enjoying them a lot more now. Think if the album was shorter, bit rawer production and some of the songs were trimmed it'd be a fairly decent modern Maiden album.
I think the first CD is all I need, the second one is discardable. Attempting to listen to both in succession is borderline torture.
Hell on earth is class. Don't need death of the Celts but whatever, glad they've dropped number of the beast for a bit.
Need 3 tickets for this, or 2, or 1

Gis!!!
Standing, physical ticket too. He's just called me and bailed, my brother's getting first refusal, if he doesn't want it it's yours.
Cheers, if it's me you mean haha, if it does fall through let me know
The brother's going, sorry.
New problem, 3 Arena parking is full. Maybe park at Heuston and Luas over and back?
No bothers just got sorted with a resale one on ticketmaster :D
Fuckin hell I honestly didn't think it would be this hard to find to find tickets for this.
Keep checking Ticketmaster. I got a standing eventually and then put up my 3 seated tickets for sale and they all went within a couple of minutes. Just keep checking.

Park the other side of the East link in Ringsend.Free parking on Cambridge Road and after 7pm on the roads around it... Used to park there for work and it's literally the other side of the bridge from The Point!
Bedad, might try that. Had sussed an evening rate for €20 in a multistorey but that sounds good, cheers.
Edit: just listening to the setlist for this tour and, as inferior as the new tracks are, they fit in better than expected. They could still drop Fear Of The Dark and Iron Maiden happily, though.
Looking fwd to tomorrow. More I think about it, gigs in Dublin 2023/24 are like a Monster of Rock bill from 1983/84. Deadly
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest Saxon
M.S.G. Uriah Jeep
Sweet Savage
Can someone throw up the stage times if announced.
according to Ticketbastard...
Doors at 6:30.
Support crowd on at 7:30.
Just throwing it out there again. Have a spare ticket for gig if anyone interested. Can meet up outside which would suit as its a ticketmaster app ticket not physical n not sure how to transfer it not that tech savvy (older metaller :P :-\ ;D ) Will take €70 for it
FYI - Bruce Dickinson's Scream For Me Sarajevo documentary is on BBC4 tonight at 12:30.
Set list is brilliant, new tunes are brilliant, had a playlist with the selist on Spotify all week, gig is going to be brilliant, this is my 6th time seeing them, can't wait.....
Hope they keeo going for a bit longer.
Afraid to say that I've never seen Iron Maiden live.
Was considering going tonight, but that setlist really does not do much for me.
Personally I think it's great. Have heard the classics plenty. 3rd time seeing them young lad is buzzing. They might not be around forever.

Ticket still available
Sitting up in the Gods now waiting for the German goons to start.
Young fella is literally buzzing out of skin with everything.
Took him into Sentinel earlier where he bough a load of patches for his new battle jacket which he also bought today in Temple bar.
Had a bite to eat in the Hard Rock Cafe before coming down. He nearly shat himself when we were sat at the Dokken table and Philo's bass next to us as well.
Even Eminem's shoes impressed him.

Great stuff, hope he enjoyed it.
Grand mix of ages there tonight, good to see. Enjoyed the gig, even the newer material sounded decent, and got a good reception. Obviously Alexander The Great was a personal highlight, along with Caught..., but The Prisoner was song of the night for me.
Bruce was in fine voice, the best I've heard from the few times I've seen them. Maybe it's because I didn't pay much heed to him but has Janick dialled the wackiness down a bit? Nice to see a few different Eddies too.
I thought they were fantastic last night. The crowd were great too. Saw them in Belfast last year and I think this might have even topped that. Songs from Somewhere in Time were animal. Can I play with Agnes, Hell on Earth, Prisoner, Fear... Class.
Great night .first gig for my two kids and they are still raving about it .
Was a really enjoyable night all round .
It really wasva great show. I thought all the new tracks sounded great. Even 'Death Of The Celts', which doesn't do much for me on the album. They flew by much quicker in the live setting.
SIT tracks were fantastic.
'Wasted Years'... What a banger to finish on.
Back on the train to reality now, though. :(

Correction, the was my seventh time. Seventh Heaven. What a privilege to be there. To be alive and have the health to attend such an event is truly priceless. Maybe Death to the Celts was a little to long for a live setting, but that is a very very very minor quibble. I was wondering how he'd explain the title to an Irish audience, but he did well. Brilliant gig. Hopefully they'll be back.
Death Of The Celts was the lowpoint for the new songs alright, but it sounded OK live. I wish to fuck they'd dump Fear Of The Dark though, how that's regarded as a 'classic' I can't fathom. Awful song, straight to the jacks for that one.
Bah humbug

First time seeing them Saturday. Personally really enjoyed the set choice. Alexander the Great a highlight (as was all the SIT tunes).
Delighted with the night, bar the hotel and pint prices. Still haven't checked the bank account.
Still can't believe they're doing a SIT tour and not doing Deja Vu or long distance runner, especially with the amount of duds in the setlist.
They're not duds, they're "deep cuts"
My 4th Maiden gig and probably the best one (very close call with/to 2018 tour) - SIT tunes were immense, "The Prisoner" was another high light. Stage production was definitely scaled back a little compared to "the Legacy of the Beast" tour from 2018 - but made up for by a slightly more intense performance.
"Death of the Celts" definitely came across better live and the start had a real "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" vibe - the green stage smoke etc.
It'll take something really special to draw me out to see Maiden again after that gig.
Quote from: Mithrandir on June 27, 2023, 08:01:48 AMStill can't believe they're doing a SIT tour and not doing Deja Vu or long distance runner, especially with the amount of duds in the setlist.
A true man of culture! The best 2 tunes on the album - yeah, a bit disappointing.
Oh I dunno, Deja Vu... Mmmm, it's OK, Loneliness is great and Sea of Madness too but in fairness the other 5 are top notch. What a great album tho.
I'd have have any of those 3 over Wasted Years, Heaven Can Wait or Stranger In A Strange Land TBH. That tease early on where he mentioned Deja Vu and Losfer Words was cruel.
Quote from: Carnage on June 28, 2023, 12:46:23 PMThat tease early on where he mentioned Deja Vu and Losfer Words was cruel.
Agreed. Really thought for a second they were going to play it.
Have they said why they don't play it? If you're going to market a tour as a commemoration of a particular album , play the whole fucking thing like. Particularly THAT album, not a dud on it.
Some seriously moaning bitches on this forum, probably should have went to Dublin pride instead of the gig. Had a hell of a day, foggy dew pub good craic beforehand, got into arena 5 minutes before doctor doctor.
Must say I've never seen queues as long for the pissers. Apparently the merch stall was horrendous. Great crowd too, not many wankers about.
It was a 2 album affair, Somewhere and Senjutsu so five was spot on. Stranger, Wasted, Somewhere, Alexander are thd best songs on the album. Bitches
Great night..lost count how many times I've seen them but that was the best since around final frontier era shows..obv would've loved more SIT song..agreed death of the celts an absolute joke of a song..pathetic..I stood to watch how bad it was out of morbid curiosity instead of going to bar/pisser..it was woeful
Quote from: Blitzer666 on June 28, 2023, 07:32:43 PMApparently the merch stall was horrendous.
Took me almost fifty minutes from joining the "queue" to getting to the counter. And even then only because a load of people in front of me got fed up waiting and left. Lot of seriously pissed off people.
Apart from that, a great night.
Between the queue for the merch stall and the price of the shirts I had a cursory look and moved one. Bought a few tour T-shirts onlinebefore the gig for about €20 less inc. postage.

It's good for the singalong, but tis a bit long in the tooth.
Ah it's a great song live
Went to the merch stall before the support band and after the gig didn't wait that long either time. The queue for the stand as you walked in looked ridiculously long but just went to the other one on the floor and it was fine.
Most fun I've had at a maiden show probably ever thought the setlist was unreal can't believe people are complaining about it. Highlights for me were opening with CSIT and hell on earth in the encore. Can I play with madness and Alexander the Great were also very good. Bruce has been in the gym he looks about 10 years younger than he did on the last leg of the LOTB tour and he sounds excellent, holding the note at the end of Alexander the Great he sounded very strong.

I always thought it was strange that they never got him an opening slot on one of their tours. They got their offspring but why not him? Maybe they think it would be insult to injury but for all that's happened, Blaze has never been bitter or slung any dirt at them and always speaks positively of Harris and the guys.
QuoteI always thought it was strange that they never got him an opening slot on one of their tours
I'd imagine that wouldn't have worked for a multitude of reasons, and mentally speaking how could you go from fronting the band to a 25 min support slot, it'd be completely demoralising.
That said, I do think they were supportive of him when he left, didn't Harris sort out a lot of label/management stuff for him for Silicon Messiah. There's only so much they could've done really.
