Should be deadly. Hekatomb is great. Still hasn't touched the heights of Salvation but he's consistent.

Waiting for Funeral Mist to touch 'Salvation' levels again is a road to disappointment. It is an all timer.

I love 'Maranatha' and, for me, 'Hekatomb' is even better.

I was under the impression that 'Deiform' was gonna be an EP, but even better to have a full-length and so (relatively) soon at that.

I admit defeat. It was  of a time as well. That and Si Monvmentvm are probably the most evil sounding albums I can think of. I listen to SMRC regularly and it still does it.

Maranatha never quite did it for me. I actual had it lined up yesterday but flaked.

Not familiar with the band, but just saw a mate from the Paris "scene" ripping it a new one compared to their previous releases... so obviously now I'm curious to hear their entire discography. No such thing as bad press!  :abbath:

Aragh, it's been out a few hours, and sounds solid. I dunno what he's on about. Salvation is the essential FM album and a truly evil sounding album imo, everything else pales in comparison.

Salvation is one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

New album sounds great on the first few listens so far just wish the lyrics were available as it looks like the vinyl won't show up until January.

Well well well, nice surprise for the end of the year.
Hekatomb was a brilliant release and this sounds good on early listens.

Have listened to the album many times now and it is great. A lot better than Hekatomb in my opinion.

Had it on yesterday again and I'm going in the other direction. It's solid and better than Hekatomb in style but he's a one trick pony and that trick was Salvation.

I had never heard his stuff before but this is a pretty addictive album, stunning stuff.  Unreal drumming on it too - especially that final track....

I must dust off 'Salvation' soon. It's one that I always see rated as a modern classic but I honestly never really got into it.

Some 'classics' won't click with you, ever, it's just the way it goes.

The thing with metallers is they often take it like the man on the street would take an insult to his Mam when you dismiss one of their favourites. Couldn't believe my ears once hearing Double A taking a stinking Guinness shite all over Heartwork.

Anyways, this album has tremendous atmosphere and it's quite a ways more accessible than Salvation. The latter is as sinister as it gets.

I think the effort you put into a release also plays a part. It literally took me a few years of on and off listening before both Salvation and later DSO clicked with me. The good thing about putting all that effort in is that years later these are still albums that I listen to on a regular basis.

They just sit there waiting for a time that clicks. It's never ending as our taste changes/develops more.
