Ambitious enough but defo a show worth hitting for Amon Amarth alone.

I'm no fan of MH or their dickhead SJW front(person) , but they do put on a hella good show.
I'd almost be tempted if they were still playing Burn My Eyes in full, but I'd assume they'd be touring a new album and nobody needs to hear that. Aside from one song, Amon Amarth do nothing for me.
Just looked up The Halo Effect that are the opening band. Seems its a load of ex-members of In Flames with Mikael Stanne on vocals, could be interesting

Agreed, ambitious for sure defo not fill the 3 arena imo. Would say it will be the crowd favourites from Robb and his hired "headcases"
This would struggle to fill vicar st in normal times..no time for MH..used love AA but left halfway through them in king John's castle after behemoth the newer stuff is so shite..Will go to see the halo effect alright..too much talent to pass up on with them
Reduced capacity maybe?
Does AA wear furry nappies like Manowar?
You could always ask him in the comments of his podcast, strong possibility I'd say
Never got into Machine Head but will be at this for AA. Very ambitious putting them in the 3 arena. Vicar st would have been perfect.
Will they just close off the balcony? standing only?.Seems a massive venue for it alright.Having said that AA seem to be playing some big venues these days.
From the Cruiscin to the 3Arena

Ya it's gas..and as the music has rapidly declined they seemed to have gotten bigger and bigger ..probably because of Vikings on TV or some shit
Will probably go to this but my days of buying tickets early are over. I'll buy the week leading up to the gigs from now on.
Have a plethora of rescheduled gig tickets already...
Phuck de SCAMdemic... :abbath:
That CruiscĂn gig was pretty class, to be fair!
So who is the headliner in this situation?
Do MH have a smaller set time I wonder and hope.
The blurb for the gig would suggest that Head Cases have been replaced by Lionhearts, not sure which is more embarrassing really. That being said Machine Head could still lash out a daycent set if they just play the older stuff and don't let Flynn talk total wank between songs.
Seen Amon Amarth a few times as support and as headliners and haven't been disappointed with their shows yet.
MH close the UK-IRE section but equal set lengths I think.
Been humming and hawing about this for a few weeks, only have a casual interest in either band and find Rob Flynn quite cringey but after seeing a few clips from the first night of the tour decided to get a ticket this morning.
Both bands have proper headline arena production didn't watch too much but looks pretty great.
While I'm not much of a fan anyway, Amon Amarth were slightly meh (tune yer guitars boys). Machine Head, on the other hand, absolutely smashed my expectations. Great sound mix, awesome stage, perfectly played, and an utterly mental crowd. Rob's hired guns play the parts better than the original musicians.
Slightly disappointed we didn't get Locust like other cities. I also laughed at Rob's faux pas, telling us this was the last night of the UK tour.
Halo Effect were excellent.
Amon Amarth we're ok, and a lot cheesy. Good fun, but not as good as I expected. Anything from TOTTGs and before was ok..Giant sea snake being hit with a hammer was hilarious.
Machine Head were fucking fantastic. Jared is a beast on the bass, Vogg was great as expected, and Matt is phenomenal on drums. Robb was in great voice and form, really got the crowd going crazy.
Balcony was full apart from the sides, standing seemed to have a bit of space to spare as well.
Yeah I thought it was very good. Machine Head sound/lights/production was class. Thought Amon Amarth looked very at home on a big stage, noticed that all their pyro was missing though compared to the clips I'd seen from the UK shows which yeah meant swinging the hammer around looked a bit stupid.
