Title: Every night she serenades me...
Post by: Eoin McLove on October 23, 2021, 03:07:05 PM
With her hands of doom!

Watching Old Season live. OK, sorry but it's with Frank singing. Remember those gigs with him out front... fuck.  They deserved to go somewhere!

One of my favourite live bands back when I was going to gigs constantly in my mid twenties. Frank made them alright, but still, fantastic band on stage.

I remember Frank at the Brú hostal after a winterfest serenading tables of ladies in the little shebeen they had in there at about 3 in the AM. The booze didn't slow him down at all. As opposed to me being physically incapable of driving home and one of the Ground of Ruin lads had to drive me home in my own car. Thanks Dom!

He had such great stage presence as a front man and his between song banter would have you in stitches.

Wait, with her HYMNS of doom. Or maybe she was serenading him in sign language

Actually he also sounds a bit like Joe Dolan.

If Frank had a wedding band, it would be one of the greatest wedding bands on the island!

Belting out songs - I´ll Take You Home Again Kathleen, The Ballad (Testament),  Chains(Priest) , Strange Wings (Savatage)  November Rain(GnR), The Curragh of Kildare (Fureys version), Pretty much every 1798 rebel tune to keep up the momentum, Nights in White Satin (Moody Blues)  Make me an Island (Joe) , Dearg Doom(Horslips) , Wild One (Thin lizzy) Love me Forever (Motorhead) and  Sabbaths Sabbra Cadabra

I'm sure it would be one hell of a hooly alright! It would be great to see him fronting a traditional doom band again though. Obviously his work in MB is superb and they have their own thing going, which seems to be moving in me directions in recent years, but I'd love to see him fronting a band again.
