Title: Invictus Productions
Post by: open face surgery on September 30, 2021, 06:20:13 PM
Figured I'd lash up a catch all thread for Invictus as I wanted to post about two of the bands currently streaming new releases and clocked there's no IP thread.

First up, Invisible Oranges are streaming the new Tempter's Sacrament EP which is an old school DM ripper but not OS in the done to death spazzer way.

https://www.invisibleoranges.com/tempters-sacrament-ep/

Next up, Hideous Death. More old school death metal done right.

https://grizzlybutts.com/2021/09/30/an-early-stream-of-hideous-deaths-remnants-of-archaic-evil-demo-2021-premiere-interview/

Edit: Both up on the IP bandcamp now:

That Tempter's Sacrament EP is brilliant.

Isn't it? I think they're both savage. Obviously given Herr Invictus's proclivity towards all things MA they are very well suited to the label.

Just ordered both tapes there. Havent heard the Hideous Death but the Tempters Sacrament tracks sound unreal. Such a class band name and logo as well.

The Hexenslaught demo put out a few years back on IP is fairly similar to this style as well. Necrovore worship basically.

And the Slutvomit album from last year is one of my all time favourite death metal albums. Fucking relentless.

I'll have to get on those bands!

Rob Death Dealer did the Tempter's Sacrament logo. Very much wearing their hearts on their sleeves. I have the Slutvomit album but have only given it a few spins for no apparent reason. Love the previous one. Hexenslaught is a ripper as well. Although fair scaldier.

Hate to derail my own thread but the Hideous Death release led me to the main fella's main project, Nachash. Never heard them before but this album is savage:

Yeah that Slutvomit is my favourite release from Invictus, from around the measly 20% or so I've heard anyway.

I have a lot of favourites from IP but Negative Plane have released 2 of my all time favourite albums.

Between the two Negative Plane albums and The Formulas of Death, that's a lot of influence to come from an Irish label. Both banda definitely sparked a bit of progression in black and death metal.

Very taken with the new Lunar Mantra EP!

Annoyingly though, I don't remember seeing them at The Fires of Samhain. Perhaps they were on early and I arrived late (rather than too many cans)?

That Transilvania album doesn't seem to get much word, which is strange as it's quite cool.

Following the recent news that we are reissuing the "Morbid Metal" demo on Invictus Productions, we're pleased to announce that we will also be working with the Irish label on our forthcoming debut full-length album. Rehearsals are ongoing for a 2022 recording but given the current state of vinyl production we cannot specify a release date yet. In the meantime check out the "Morbid Metal" demo and the "Subterranean Death Rising" 7" EP released by Iron Pegasus Records.

This sounds great. A lot of war metal sounds ferocious but is hard to stick with in the long run and it can be so noisy, but this sounds riff heavy.

Don't think D's releasing it himself, but just saw he has copies of Decomposed's The Funeral Obsession on vinyl, plus a DLP collection of demo stuff. Had I not already done this month's purchases yesterday, I would have jumped on a copy of TFO.

The Decomposed vinyl is out on Me Saco Un Ojo records I think. Closest thing we'll get to seeing 'Hope Finally Died' on LP I'd say.

That was my initial response; thrashy war metal with catchy songwriting. I'll give the full thing a spin later.

O U T - N O W ! ! !

INVICTUS PRODUCTIONS is proud to reissue the debut demo of the UK's NECROMANIAC, Morbid Metal, on cassette tape format.

Formed in 2011, London's Necromaniac at last emerged from the slime of time eternal in 2015 with the five-song Morbid Metal demo. With members possessing a wealth of underground experience spanning the last couple decades - not to mention that those members hail from such countries as Spain, Greece, Poland, and most recently Sweden, altogether adding a more exotic flavor elusive to most UK bands - it's not surprising that the band's first recording was such a firestorm of ancient energy. Very much "old" but very much far from trite "retro" posturing, Morbid Metal was - and still is - everything its title promises, whipping forth a fury faintly/variously reminiscent of classic Nifelheim, Germany's Poison, Hungary's Tormentor, Root, and Invictus alumni Vomitor. Hideous, haunting, and most definitely fucking METAL!

As such, Necromaniac will be delivering their debut album through Invictus in the coming year, and this new edition of Morbid Metal serves as a (re)introduction to their sinister ways.

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
