This will be worth seeing I reckon... Fear Innoc is still getting regular spins for me... Tickets out Friday this week
Another fully seated show ffs.
Seated is the best way to watch a Tool show. I have seen them three times (well more like two as the second time-Ozzfest- I was too locked for it to count) and the last time was in the O2 with Mastodon supporting. I had a balcony seat and it was great to have a proper view of the stage show, which was superb.
€92 plus booking fee, fuck that
Yeah Tool are grand and seating is perfect for them, but sod paying that amount of money to watch acid visuals on a screen when they noodle about in the shadows.
Yep..no chance at that price
Ffs why is it seated... Will be buying regardless as its my first time seeing them live.
Saw them that time in Punchestown, wouldn't be a huge fan but most seem to like them that day.
Guessing that means with Ticketmaster's obligatory cut and the "venue fee" there's no change from €100. Happier to see Nighwish, Overkill and Mgla for roughly the same price. Thanks but no thanks.

€100 is a stinger, I'm fairly sure tickets were about half that price in the same venue the last time they played here.
But that was 15 years ago. If it takes them another 15 years to play here again, if they even ever play here again, the €100 for now will have to do.
If the last two albums had been better then I'd at least consider it. But to be (probably) sittting a mile away from them and watching a light show set to probably 50% of songs I don't like, for a ton + travel accomodation, food & drink etc.? Nah.

Hah, I was worried this would sell out quickly. I guess it won't.
Ah bollix to that (seated + crazy price)
It's less the price of tickets that has me hooped, but more the price of Dublin. Waiting to see what the damage is elsewhere in Europe and might fly instead if it works out similar to a night or two up there.
I saw them in Portugal in 2019 and it was unreal. Would happily go see them again, though seated is a bit of a downer.
Have a code for the presale tomorrow. Does anybody have an idea how seating allocation works when you're booking online?
It'll show you a seating chart and you pick the seat you want, or at least the seating section in some cases.
Got a presale code off the 3Plus app if anyone wants it.

Yeah I'm just wondering what happens if by the time you select a seat, somebody else has already selected the same seat and clicked to the next page, or whatnot.
Lads, get a ticket for the balcony. You won't be disappointed.
Thought these were gone for the 3 pre-sale after a few mins, checked again at 10:30 and got a seat in block C. Happy out.
also hello... I'm new
Anyone got a presale code they don't want? I'd be ever so grateful!
Sent you a PM there Neuromancer
D section is the fuckin business. Have had a few comp tickets over the years and always ended up there. Like being at the cinema.
Managed to get two just about. Seems sold out now!
Already for sale at twice the price on tout sites. Thought the government were stamping that out? Cunts
"We can't find the tickets you searched for... but here's some resale tickets!"
I ended up paying €121 for a ticket at the back. I wasn't sure I wanted to go, so only woke up at 9:30AM and there was nothing left. Tried periodically until a few resale ones went up.
Yesterday, I was like £85 is too much for Tool, and today, I'm paying £105.

Shower of corrupt bastards.

Mind you, your lucky its only 20 quid more than the normal price
Just remember this is the same government that told us the USC charge was temporary. As long as people are desperate enough to buy irrespective of the price there'll be a market for it. Tickets on All-Ireland Final Day being a case in point.

The law they introduced meant the venue / organisers had to opt in and become a designated venue. I wonder is it just not in the venues / organisers interest as maybe they are being paid by viagogo etc.

Broken record stuff I know but unless we vote with our feet and wallets fuck all will ever change....painful I know but has to be done...once you get into that mindset it gets easier...
What's the story with those Platinum seats going for 350-400 squids? Ticketmaster says it reserves some of the best seats and then releases them at a price that reflects the market demand, like airline flights or hotel rooms.
To me, it looks like a legal form of ticket touting, and they get away with it because the ticket isn't technically being re-sold, it's being sold originally but for (in this case) 4 times the original price.
Whos idea is that and who gets all the profits? Is it just Ticketmaster or do the artists/venue get a slice?
Only found out about this bastarding thing today. Sake.

Not sure whether the artists get a cut of the inflated price but that's exactly what it is. They're cutting out the middle man and scalping their own tickets. Absolutely shameful.
Anyone going to this Friday?
Some gig lads!
First time getting to see Tool live. The Pot, The Grudge and Invincible were the highlights for me. Phone ban was refreshing out and finally getting to see Danny Carey do his thing live was unreal! Amazing show. Suffering today.
I'd add Pneuma and Sober to that list
Both outstanding as well!
It was ok - the production/light show and sound was amazing, but the new material was mostly a snoozefest and the encore really ended the night on a bum note. When they played the old tracks - Sober, Hooker With A Penis, The Grudge, The Patient, Pushit - it was phenomenal - the atmosphere picked up and the crowd reacted with serious enthusiasm, but the new material just didn't compare and the atmosphere definitely dampened with the majority of the Fear Inoculum stuff.
40 euro for a t-shirt, 70 euro for a poster, 80 euro for a hoodie, signed posters 300 euro - them boys are absolutely coining it. Can't believe there's mugs who would pay that! The ticket prices were expensive enough.
Out of 7 Tool gigs I've seen, that one ranks last.
Jesus, that's robbery.
It is a tour supporting their latest album after all.
Amazing gig. Their newer material is more mellow alright, but I wouldn't say it put a damper on the atmosphere, at least not where I was anyway. Yes I would've liked to have heard Schism etc but as already mentioned, Invincible and Pneuma were amazing, Fear Innoculum itself was great too.
I liked how he asked everybody to stand up at the start and pretty much everybody I could see remained standing throughout the whole gig.
And yeah, the no phones rule was class :abbath:
I caught the last 2 songs from Brass Against and they were decent. No peeing antics unfortunately.
Hear hear man

Sickened I wasn't at that. The price was too much for me at the time. Only seen em once and it was outdoor
What's this Opiate 2 all about then, I saw it in Tower the other day but was in too much of a rush to check it out. Is it the EP re-recorded or a video version or what? I saw Fear Inoculum for €50, well down from €90+ when it came out, but still a bit pricey.
They did a longer version of Opiate and re-recorded it. On streaming services it only has the one track (9:54), so unless the EP is really cheap it sounds like a rip off.
It's just one song? Pass. It was ~€27/€28 from what I saw.
They really know how to squeeze it out of people. I got that fancy fear inoculum cd when it came out for 50 dollars from Amazon US because the prices here were laughable. I'd have just burned a copy for that money. Didn't even hear the opiate 2 version yet, I forgot about it
Looked it up on Discogs there, it's a CD/Blu Ray box with fancy packaging, not that bothered. The version of FI I saw for €50 is a reissue with a fancy box & booklet, but the extra trascks and audio gizmo aren't included.
On a related note, I listened to Undertow for the first time in years yesterday, I'd forgotten how good an album it was. I suppose I'd sidetracked it in favour of Ænima and Lateralus, which was criminal, really. Even the older, more straightforward material on the album really holds up well.
Jesus Christ - those merch prices are eye-watering.
I'm confused about the no phones thing. How do they enforce it? The video of the "Invincible" on the last page is shot from a phone and there's a raft of phones illuminated within the video. Was that just the dickish few?
I've been to a few comedy clubs in the US where they give you a bag with your table number/assigned seat on it that you have to put your phone into and they padlock it until the show is over. That'd hardly work in an arena though.
Before the last song, Invincible, Maynard addressed the audience and announced that they could record if they wanted.

There's an excellent remaster of undertow on YouTube but I can't find it on the mobile version. I'll try grab the link on the laptop in a bit. It's well worth listening to and really improves what I've always felt was a slightly shoddy sound.

Signs up all over the place, announced before gig and stewards enforced it. I must say it was a relief that people didn't have phones up.
Great idea killing the phones for the gig
