Title: Proscriptor McGovern's Apsû
Post by: Born of Fire on September 24, 2021, 12:41:22 PM
New song is sounding great. Little more frantic than the most recent couple albums, drums excellent as usual. Looking forward to hearing a full album.

Such a maniac on the kit, they are a peach of a band.

Have listened to this a few times and it gets better with each listen. It's like one of the shorter tracks from 'Tara'. Hoping the album will have a few longer Absu epics.

Im probably in the minority here but I enjoy all eras of Absu. Theyve evolved a bit like Destroyer 666 - the early violence over time making way for cleaner and more clinical songwriting, but it will all blend in fairly seamlessly in a live set.

Yep. Pillars of Mercy popped into my head at the intro.

Yeah they played downstairs in the Academy several years back.

And The Pint a couple years after that with an embarrassing mess of a band called Necronomicon. That gig was badly attended which was quite strange considering how packed and good the Academy gig was.

Another new song. Short, sharp and to the point. Listened to it through headphones and thought my ears were deceiving me when there was a couple of synth notes in the background that sounded like Gameboy sound effects

The album has leaked and it is great. Been waiting a decade for this so couldn't wait any longer plus with Agonia I will be lucky to have the record in my hands this side of Christmas.

Agonia are a mess. I ordered records last year ir the previous year which got stuck in Portlaoise for a week or two and then returned to sender. The cheeky cunt tried to charge me for postage again. Had to claim back through paypal as he stopped replying. Was subsequently told that his reputation is dire.

That Academy gig was enjoyable, some highly strange stage guff out of him. Nachtmystium pulled out of that which was disappointing.

I do recall that being up there with the worst hungover driving home from a gig experiences ever.

'

He is well known for this. He treated his London audience to the same cack a few years back.

You asked for a tune he didn't have the cymbal required to play. State of the cunt.

Talking back to the crowd in the 'metal voice' :)

Unless you are Abbath, that's a paddlin' :)
