Title: Steelfest Controversy
Post by: jpm4 on September 15, 2021, 11:51:25 AM
Was wondering if people had any thoughts on what's going on with the Steelfest festival? A link below gives the gist of it, but essentially there has been a lot of pushback due to the booking of NSBM bands at it for 2022 - Satanic Warmaster, Goatmoon, Graveland. A lot of "standard" bands booked - Samael, Deicide, Primordial ect have either pulled out or are very likely to.

It's an interesting one - have to admit I'd be wondering about a promoter getting those kinds of bands together on a bill, didn't think you would see that outside of something like Asgardsrei festival. Other bands probably worried about guilt by association which I can't really blame them for.

Bardo Methodology interview with Steelfest organizer. This is the second part of the interview, dealing exclusively with said clusterfuck:

Read it earlier. I like his stance/explanation however naive it may be.

It does seem a bit niave, but principled at least.
