I just received their latest album, Alphaville, in the post today, was surprised to find out they were playing Belfast, and didn't see a thread here.
For anybody who doesn't know who they are, check out Alphaville. It's kinda like jazz meets black metal.
Fairly sure all their international dates for the rest of this year were cancelled a while back? Unless I saw wrong. But yeah, would love to see them.

Didn't realise they were playing Dublin, same night as Cattle Decapitation though

Hopefully they don't end up cancelling it. Was surprised to find them playing here and really wanna see them. I only found out by accident though, so yeah, not great promotion...
Is the promoter the guy who put on Jesus Piece? He just seems to do facebook posts and nothing else....

Hoping to get to this Dublin gig but yeah, had I not seen a poster in the window of the Grand Social I'd have had no idea they were playing whatsoever. if anyone from Live Free is reading, might be worth noting that we don't all have Facebook or use social media to follow every gig promoter/venue going in case they're putting on a band we like. Smacks of laziness.
Anyway, stuck on the new album this morning, not leaping out at me like the last one on first listen but they're far from an instant band. I suspect they'll be fairly marmite - incredible musicians but that doesn't always translate to an exciting performance - live but I'm curious to see them.Lightning Bolt the next night too..busy week.
I was just being childish, never got to see them, was really looking forward to it. I loved the first triumphant album, and the decibel Flexi is great, but their other stuff I've bounced off so far. Wonder what they'll do with the brass elements live, tape or a brass section or just leave it out....
I'm delighted to be proven wrong and see that tickets.ie have posted a low ticket warning.
Saw these guys at a festival last week - excellent, crazy stuff well worth a look.
