Title: Monolith Live Streams
Post by: Ollkiller on August 02, 2021, 12:44:08 PM
Didn't see a post for this so sticking it up there's any interest. As there's no Monolith this year they, in conjunction with Cypress Avenue and Twisted Vision Productions put on 3 live streams with 6 bands over the last weekend and they will be up for a few days.  Seriously professional set up to be part of and the result is damn impressive i have to say.

Watched a few of them over the weekend. Agreed, very well done. It's a serious production effort considering the relative audience watching. Not an exercise in commercialism, I know, just strange to note. Was proper robbed of many gigs at that revamped Cypress Avenue before the pandemic hit. Great spot. Proper pitch black and moody in there between sets as well.

Watched all the sets over the weekend. Highly enjoyable! Well produced and a great effort from the Monolith/Paranoid Beast lads. The amount of work that goes on behind the scenes for these video type gigs is massive.

Aye they were doing 2 bands a day for the recording and the crew were doing 12 to 14 hour days through set up and everything else. A big undertaking but the result speaks for itself.

I watched the Patholón one alright, it was decent. Might stick on another now. Coroza have a hometown boy in them, sure let's start there.

Deadly stuff to get a few sets online.

I thought that the Partholón set was really excellent, the Coroza set was a fucking belter too and the Magnapinna set was pretty great as well.

Great energy from all three of those bands - the Magnapinna played like they were in front of a few hundred people.

I would have liked to see a Soothsayer set - what with the new album and all but alas it wasn't to be.

Aye a Soothsayer one would have been deadly.

Coroza, Magnapinna, and Partholón sets were all top class.  Didn't get a chance to see the rest unfortunately, if they're still up I'll give them a lash.  Great stuff.
