Title: Food For The Gods
Post by: livingabortion on June 19, 2021, 06:41:58 PM
"And after wine and mead and sac,
Man must have a massive snack"

I thought I would make this thread, to go along with the "Nectar Of The Gods One" because I like a good feed after some pints, but general cooking too, and see what other like.

Takeaway:

Chinese: A Beef Chow Mein and Boiled Rice.
Indian: A Mild Rogan Josh
Regular Chipper: Cheese Burger and Chips or a Snack Box

Cooking:

I like to cook chicken and beef stir-fry's, the wok is great, preparing the vegetables fresh, or sometimes I get the boxes of stir-fry mixes.
I like to use the Air-Fryer as well, it's great for all kinds of meats, chops, sausages chicken breasts, we can get a whole chicken into the one we have.
I like to do a lumps of beef and ham in the Slow Cooker. They're good for stews too.

I love my slow cooker, ive made some tasty feeds with it and usually make loads for freezing.

Mustard chicken and bacon casserole is one of my favourites. Goes well with some creamy mash.

I am fairly shite at the slow cooker as most of my dishes come out watery or flavourless.  Much prefer grill and oven.

Indian Delta: A Mild Rogan Josh.

Couldn't resist, sorry.

My favourite from the local Delta is the Vindaloo. I fucking love it.

Yeah, it's potentially offensive to refer to something by the name of the place where it was discovered/popularised nowadays, so we are assigning letters from the greek alphabet. It was also a shit, covid variant-related attempt at a joke.

Grill a slice of bread on one side, flip it, throw some grated cheese, chopped onion & a bit of mayonnaise mixed together on top, back under the grill for a few mins. Great beer food.

Pizza sandwiches are unreal.  Anyone who hasn't had one is missing out.

I cook a lot and do some decent meals, will get into them another time, but for now I will just fire in some fucking filth specials.

The ultimate deli wrap:  Brown wrap, taco sauce, spicy chicken, black pudding, hash brown, cheese, and a bit of onion relish if you feel inclined.  Don't get it cut in half, it's easier eat it like a burrito.

There's a place here in Limerick near the market called Top Pizza, and they do my favourite standarx kebab.  No fancy or overloaded shit on this, it's cheap as (and with) chips and only has the lamb, lettuce, onions, and garlic & hot sauces in it.  But however they cook the spit, the lamb is always soft and fresh, the bread is warm and spongy, everything is just right.  At one point I would get a tenner student meal off them - small pizza, kebab, chips, coke, dip- with pepperoni and tandoori chicken on the pizza, then fuck the chips onto it and empty the kebab out onto it too, then use the pizza slices to eat the mountain.  Unreal

I've leftover indian in the fridge for this evening, I might just pan fry the whole thing and eat it in a sandwich.  Can't remember what dish it was but it was lamb and sort of vindaloo-ish but featuring peas and a tap milder.

Giving blood in a while so I've a striploin in the pan as we speak. Onions and peppers with it, a few oven chips on the side. Can't bate it.
