Title: Summoning
Post by: vinterland on June 10, 2021, 01:43:17 AM
Incredibly Summoning have largely escaped me till now. Was listening to Caladan Brood on Youtube earlier and clicked on  Land of the Dead from Oath Bound which is absolutely amazing. Any recommendations on where to start with Summoning preferably with a style similar to that on Oath Bound. Remember hearing their debut Lugburz years ago and it didn't do anything for me so to have heard their sixth album, however belatedly, is a huge but pleasant surprise. An advance thanks for any advice.

I think anything from Minas Morgul onwards is all in a similar vein, the only difference is the vocals get a bit less harsh and the production gets a bit cleaner with time. My pick of the albums would be 'Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame'. Great band, if a little repetitive.

Cant Go Wrong with any Summoning, but that clutch of releases from Minas Morgul though to Let mortal Heroes are the ones I'd reach for the most, with Dol Guldur and Stronghold being the peaks.
