A new track is online from their third album which is due in September. It's something else. Can't wait to get this.
Just to echo our whatsapp in an attempt to get some conversation going on this yoke, I think that the time off and the formation of Black Death Cult in the interim could really push this off the deep end. Have listened to that track a few times and I think it's incredible. I love everything they've done though. Logos on now.
For the uninitiated: https://antediluvian.bandcamp.com/
This sounds more deranged than Black Death Cult to me. BDC is cool, don't get me wrong, but this sounds 100% like Antediluvian just ramped up to 11. It's fierce and focused, less playful than BDC maybe. It's darker than that album. And that solo, fuck me! It's comical in a way; it sounds like a one finger wonder, almost taking Kerry Kings million random notes per second to it's ridiculous conclusion. But it kind of makes sense too, somehow. It just sounds really creative and warpy to me. I hope the album harbours more nutty surprises.
Well with that as the 2nd track, and there's a few long ones on there, this should be mental.
The BDC album is a far simpler effort for sure but the tripped out nature of it may lend itself to the direction of this. The solo is a wonky mess in the best way possible. Can't wait anyway.
Fucking hell!
First time hearing anything from Antediluvian and I don't know what to make of it. If I were to describe it in one word it would be ,"uncomfortable", I don't really like it, but I certainly don't dislike it.
Sounds like Malthusian having an orgy with Celtic Frost in the back of a transit van full of drum kits.
That all seems fair.
Through The Cervix of Hawaah is probably a good jumping off point.
The 'Under Wing of Asael' demo was my introduction and is so fucking good. And as it's relatively short it's also a decent place to dive in. But 'Through the Cervix of Hawaah' is incredible too.
Sounds even better today. Gonna have to stop listening to it.
Haha yeah, I've had it on a few times.

That is superb
Vicious stuff

A second song is streaming. Just utterly fucking mental shit. It sounds like the whole thing keeps speeding up and slowing down, like the song is breathing. Probably one of the most direct and simple/linear/primitive things they've done, so how do they make it sound so completely out there! Antediluvian are peer-less. The only other band to come close would be Swallowed.
Deadly. I still only have Watchers' Reign, the demo compilation, which is pretty mad and intense stuff, but I must spend some more time with the albums proper.
Was talking about it last night with McLove. Had a heavy week of sessioning and threw on that track last night. The second half spun my head. Terrifying.
Everything except Logos is on Spotify and everything is incredible, in my book. All the different productions create different atmospheres.
Can't see this or Qrixkuor being bettered this year for me and they are so different that no comparison or competition is relevant or needed. New Lvcifyre tune is great as well.
Defo two of the standouts so far in terms of death metal but who knows what other little gems might appear, like Diabolical Fullmoon...
Plenty other great releases but these two and their out there, trippy madness are a step above for me.
Yeah they are the business. Funnily enough, I was only thinking earlier how they are like two sides of the same coin in a way. Both achieve this weird, unhinged unpredictable result but from entirely different angles.
Just getting a listen to the new material, outstanding!
The CD has been released with the LP to follow. I was going to wait until the LP was out to order but I couldn't resist! 8)
Have a rip en route. What's your first impression?
I haven't listened to it yet. I ordered the CD so who knows when it will arrive. I might crack and give it a full listen (along with Moon Oracle) before it lands, though. The post here is frightening at the minute. Still waiting on stuff I've ordered a month or more ago.
I'll go back to my initial assessment of the BDC influence being prevalent. It's all over the album in it's experimentation. Not a bad thing and it makes this the weirdest Antediluvian album yet, by a considerable margin. Will be getting a lot of listens.

They've just completely gone off the rails. It is ridiculous in places, but compelling. Weird album.
Saw these at a very strange festival setting at the weekend - all seated and masked.
I only have 'Revelations in Excrement' and to be honest, I never really liked it that much. Have to say they were something else live though. Absolutely ferocious vocals are what stood out, and they were tight as bejesus. Very odd stage wear choices - green painted faces and what looked like a blanket your granny would knit draped over the guitarist and bassist. They blew me away though. There were times the drums and bass locked into an almost Godflesh-like droning rhythm with the guitar just going mental over the top. Definitely something different.

Watched a few clips last night. Couldn't make out much but enjoyed it none the less. How was the rest of the fest Lorc?

I've yet to see them live but I'm at a point where I'm thinking it might be better to keep them as a bit of a mystery on that front. I'm surprised to hear you never got into them. Check out 'Under Wing of Asael', 'Through the Cervix of Hawaah' and the new one and see if any of those float your goat.
Yeah I'll have to go back to them.
The fest (Ghosts of the Covenant) wasn't great this time. Really muddy sound, being seated, and several of the bands really giving off zero movement or energy didn't help. It all just seemed a bit flat. Ruinous Power were promising sounding, Reversed also decent. Still appreciate the promoters making it happen despite god knows how many obstacles.
I stuck on The Divine Punishment today on the way to and from work. The Beherit influence is really pronounced I think. A complex beast of an album with many little surprises scattered throughout. I'm still not sure what to make of the "666" monologue... it's far too long but maybe that is partly what is cool and challenging about it. That said, it gets annoying
The big Beherit influence is what ties it to BDC for me. In the same boat regarding the 666 tune.
Lost interest in the band after Logos was released. Saw them in either 2010 or 2012 and it was awful just a wall of noise and impossible to make anything out. I listened to the new album and really like it so starting to get back into the old stuff now again.
We've been down this road many times between this and MI, it took a few years to warm to Logos but I love it now.
Matt reminded me about this earlier. My favourite thing they've done by some distance. Surprisingly listenable largely because of how unpredictable it is.
Have ya listened to Black Death Cult, Jamie?
I don't think I have. On it.
Unreal. As I said earlier in the thread, I feel a lot of that madness has seeped into the new Antediluvian.
I will revisit logos picked up another copy recently. I am very interested in seeing what the new shirt is like that Darragh is releasing today.
It's a Through the Cervix shirt. Missing the best logo ever but cool shirt.
Ah right I had the Cervix shirt he did years ago that just had the art on the front and no backprint which I stupidly sold when I went off the band and it can't be found anywhere now.
