The cover looks cool but that name is shocking.
Cool cover yeah.
I love it!
Given Fenriz is the oracle it's strange that they are using that artwork. They even had a member called Zephyrous.

Either way, after Old Star I'm certainly looking forward to checking this out.
No way!
That's a deadly cover.
I listened to Old Star in its entirety for the first time just now. The title track didn't grab me at the time it was released, neither did the artwork, and I let it slip by. I really enjoyed the full album and even the title track didn't bore me. It's a catchy old record.
I love it. Bang of Hour of 13 at times.
I remember listening to the singles off the last album but never got around to checking it out in full despite really liking the general sound/production, must check it out.
Looking forward to this, probably one of my favourite bands. Haven't put out much shite in my eyes and they got a bit more momentum the last few years so this looks to be good. Noticed as well longer songs this time round.
Tiny snippets linked to the post on Instagram. The guitars sound beefy and the drums sound is great.
Haven't enjoyed a DT album since Cult so hopefully this one hits!

Brief snippet for production idea. I'll probably get the boxset tbh.
Yea pre ordered the boxset myself.
Have high hopes for this album as the last one was great.
Didn't they use that artwork already on total death ?
At least something very similar.
Was listening to a DT playlist on the back of this thread and this came on.

Jesus Sardonic Wrath is such an underrated album. Imagine this one live as an encore...

Not a million miles removed from their most underrated album.

Will hold judgement til I hear the whole thing given how wrong I was about Old Star but sounds cool.
Sabbath, Pentagram, Candlemass. Fine by me.
Nothing wrong with the simplistic, metronome-like percussion on the classic albums, on the contrary, clearly this approach served its purpose pretty well in the context of streamlined music. I'm glad to hear, however, that Fenriz recently seems to remember that some chops thrown here and there like a pinch of salt can add quality to the overall flavour.

Oh dear....
That's something else. I dunno what to think of it.
It's awful.
Fuck. I kind of like that. It's a bit soft and groovy. Plenty of other DT albums out there for your less accessible needs. I know it's not particularly in the sound but watching it with that nifty little 'video' I get a very 70s Spaceman Came Travelling whack off it.
I know I just aligned a fucking Darkthrone song with Chris DeBurgh. But sure.
It's very long without much happening.
If somebody else put it out it wouldn't get a second glance.
I like it. Nothing revolutionary but that's not the point of DT these days anyway. It's a good headbanging rocker that'll be fun to listen to in the car 8)

Totally agree and the choice of production suits it and sticks seperate to other albums.
I absolutely love it. Gave it a good blast through the big speakers there and it sounds really cool.
A band that has changed a lot over the years, I like their more non Black Metal works. Hate Cloak is good, I look forward to hearing more.
Enjoying this. A slightly different buzz to Old Star but still along that heavy metal/doom route.
Blasted this on the way to work and I'm enjoying it immesnsley!
Few songs i heard were very poor .
They are milking the name and the fans don't seem to care once it's got a cool logo on the cover .

You got the right name
I've heard three songs now and I they're really good. I looking forward to hearing more.
