Title: The Lone Madman
Post by: Eoin McLove on April 01, 2021, 10:31:52 PM
Well this is something. Doom metal in the vein of Reverend Bizarre but also bursting with its own inventions. Fantastic and often surprising song writing and the flute sections actually work unlike with Blood Ceremony who I never clicked with. This is the business.

Edit. I'm detecting a GriftegÄrd influence too. Some other hints in there that I'm trying to decipher...

I like this, quite a light touch with the guitars in spots. Worth a punt for Bandcamp Friday.

Definitely a lighter touch than RB in the playing, yeah. Going to grab the LP today.

This is great stuff. Almost as shite a name as The Wandering Midget though.

The LP arrived in the post today. Listening to it earlier I was picking up a bit of The Devil's Blood and Hammers of Misfortune with the female backing vocals, but also the slightly retro tinges. It's not overt. Like every other element those hints are well stitched into the entire feel of the record.
