Untoothers... ;D
The Olympia. No thanks, shite sound for heavy shit.
Nice 1
Jesus the only venue in Dublin Behemoth have left to play after this is Croke park  Will definitely hit this for Carcass - no interest in the other two.
Seen some posters for it have Arch Enemy as the top bill, is it going to be a case of the headliner switching each night?
Nice,hopefully it goes ahead.
Definitely heading for arch enemy and carcass. As a black metal fan I cannot believe I'm saying that but modern behemoth does not appeal to me.
No one else thinks its a bit sad seeing Carcass reduced to a lowly support slot for 2 mediocre at best bands? I know these days you gotta take what you can get but still.. I'll wait for a headline show

I'd have to agree there...I'm sure if you are fans of the other bands you'll be delighted...but I'll wait for a full Carcass show..that's if it happens....
Yep, Carcass easily sold out The Academy back in 2014.
Fairly sure Carcass sold out vicar street the year after too. That was the one with Voivod, Napalm Death and Obituary.

Yep, great night. Serious lineup that.
No they didn't....wasn't that close either.
This is a big tour,Behemoth have spent the last 15 plus years getting bigger and bigger etc,i dont get the surprise at Carcass being down the bill. They may be one of the original DM/Grind originators etc.But they were split up/inactive for years, other bands were busy hoovering up new fans in that period.
Theres problaly a massive chunk of AE and Behemoth fans not remotely interested in Carcass.
Reading some of the comments on the Carcass FB page, people really have no idea how a tour works, just because you were big in 1991 doesnt mean you are now.
Go to the bar for the bands your not interested in,thats what i do anyway.

Have to agree.
Musical opinion is subjective, current touring popularity is very much objective. Behemoth and Arch Enemy are bigger draws right now.
Anyway, old stalwarts getting a look in further down the bill is a fine metal tradition. I'm sure Carcass will take it in their stride getting to play their shit in front of some new fans.
Horny dogs down the front for a gander at a sweaty Alissa....
....yeeeeeeeeeoooooooo

I hate her vocals compared to Angela, but I can't complain about a smurf in skin tight suits.
So if the behemoth singer gets locked up does this show still go ahead with carcass bumped up to headliners? :abbath: :abbath:
If there were better bands with Carcass it would be worth it.
Looks like either Carcass or Damnation festival have already swung the hammer on any notion this is happening this year.
Tour moved to Sept/Oct next year:

Dublin date is September 27
:'(
They'd have been better going ahead. European vaccination rates are high, and who knows what crazy shit will happen one year from now.

Strangely enough I'd prefer to see Unto Others over the rest at this juncture. They played to feck all in Cork back in April for my first post-COVID gig and they seriously rocked. Only got into them then but they've been on my playlist a lot since. Well worth getting in early for.
Really hope Carcass get a decent set length no interest in the two headliners and already paid stupid money to see Napalm Death on this tour who played instead of Carcass on the North American leg back in April
Looking forward to this, 4 great live bands in one day. Any idea of stage times yet?
if you have a ticket for the upper circle..is there any chance you can get down to the standing area?

In what fucking world would that make sense?

Not a particularly big fan of any of these bands but used to be a huge Behemoth fan. All the same, such a great lineup, four big hitters.

No chance was hoping for something like this for Meshuggah as you use to be able to easily do this in the O2 but in the Olympia they have a completely separate entrance to the venue for seating.
So, how'd this go then?
Overall it was great. Missed Unto Others cos I was stuck in work. I thought Carcass were fantastic, but a lot disagreed for some reason.
Arch Enemy were really good. Think they might have gone on longer then they were supposed to, but every song was a banger and the whole band really got the crowd into it.
Behemoth took a while to get set up (but a great stage when it was done). The set was fantastic. A few older tracks (but no real early stuff) from Demigod, Thelema and Satanica mixed with some newer stuff. All done while the band raged and prowled around under a brilliant light show.. Never seen a bad Behemoth gig. But this seemed to be cut short, possibly because of first night stuff they need to work on and Arch Enemy playing a bit long. They were practically kicked off at about 11:10, so just over an hour.
Great night overall..
Carcass were terrible. The sound for them was awful. Was considering maybe sticking around for a little bit of Behemoth haven't listened to them since the Whelans show in 05 thought maybe I would give them another chance but couldn't sit through Arch Enemy and we were told if you leave the venue you can't get back in so didn't bother sticking around.
Good lord

 Looks like we were at different gigs!!
If you are back in the Olympia again and want to leave, just out through the smoking area. They stamp your hand so you can go back in.

Asked the fella who was taking tickets just passed where they sell the merch and he said no ins and outs. Once you leave you can't get back in.
They also had a bouncer standing at that temporary boundary they had in the smoking area who was stopping people from going out. Tried to first go out that way and was told no you have to go back around to the front door.
Don't mind too much to be honest I did the same thing when I saw this tour in April fucked off after Napalm played. Behemoth were also headlining that night so wasn't worth sitting through Arch Enemy knowing I more than likely wouldn't enjoy Behemoth.
Enjoyed Unto Others and Carcass. Not into the others. Great to see a full venue for that sorta line up.
Missed Carcass as I was driving down from Belfast. Shame.
Amazing gig, although I hadn't listened much to the new Behemoth album, aside from a few of the singles. I would've preferred them leaving out a couple of the new songs in favour of Lucifer and Sculpting the Throne ov Seth.
Carcass were excellent, not sure many would disagree with that either.
They were flat to the mat, 9 songs in 45mins was good going.
Unto Others were brilliant too.
Hadn't listened to AE since Gossow left. Didn't realise how popular they were. Find your dolls vocals boring as fuck but music was tight albeit generic scandimetal.
Behemoth were grand, pure pantomime but entertaining. If it takes them to get a lineup like that over to Ireland and sell it out, fair fucks to them.
AE & Behemoth did exactly 70 each as scheduled. Behemoth went on 10 mins late due to a first day of tour changeover glitch but the venue let them go 10 mins beyond 11......so nobody played longer than they were supposed to and nobody cut any songs either.
Someone uploaded Arch Enemy's full set from the balcony: https://youtu.be/tDZCvGSzCu4
Sounds a lot better and clearer than where I was - stuck near the aisle underneath the balcony.
