Post by: Teiaaa on December 15, 2018, 03:58:40 PM
Hey! Im not sure if I'm allowed to post this here but I found amazing Iron Maiden Symphony medley. This was preformed and written by amateur orchestra. Really amazing!  :-*

I got a good 2 minutes into that, which is way farther than I could bring myself to go into actual Maiden.

I dunno...I find all these symphonic interpretations a bit dull and pointless....the worst has to be S&M though...its sounds a bit like when cassettes used to bleed through back in the day..

Yeah same here. Dimmu borgir are an amazing band but live with an orchestra they sound very muddy.  Just use your keyboards and samples ffs.

I don't find any of the versions on S&M to be superior to the regular live versions, but I do think the two new tunes at that gig sounded decent with the orchestra. I have no regular version to compare them to though.

Aye not great at all. Normally dislike orchestras with metal bands. This being the exception. https://youtu.be/ONZq7xzCKd0 Devin Townsend

I was there for the gig and for the most part the orchestra could barely be heard, was a bit disappointing. Ocean Machine was amazing though

I think it sounds class. I'd like to hear more of these.

What's with the S&M comparisons? There is no metal band playing here just an orchestra, surely they're incomparable?

Yeah it doesn't seem right comparing the two as Iron Maiden aren't part of it.

I actually think this was pretty good. What the hell where you expecting? A thousand piece orchestra with pyro and a 60ft Eddie walking out with a 15 foot dick?

I thought it brought a good atmosphere to the songs.
