Johnson & Rudd are back, Williams is out of retirement and a new album is imminent. Anyone give a shit? The last essential album came out in 1980 and the last few albums were pretty shite but this snippet sounds decent. I am interested in hearing more.

Wouldn't have much interest in a new album but they're still on the bucket list to see live, I think a gig at Slane is inevitable, should Covid ever fuck off.
Like the previous poster, i'm not too bothered about a new album, but I would love to see them live again.
That sounds good. The last album I listened to was Black Ice, and while it's not essential, it's still very enjoyable.
Their albums generally have 3 or 3 decent songs each anyway so nothing to get excited about, the last AC/DC songs I liked was on The Razor's Edge. The ultimate 'best of' band (which is probably why the've never released one).
Yeah as others have said its not the new album but rather the tour that follows it, but as mentioned, the old covid and these boys aren't young (hahahahahaha)
I remember the scramble for tickets back in 2009 for the black ice tour. I queued for about 6 hours outside Cameron's in Ballymena. Was 7th in queue and heard number 13 was the last one to get tickets. Heard rumours that people queued a day or two in advance at grahams in coleraine but don't know if that was true or not.

Yes they have!!!! 8)
Saw them at Punchestown in 2008 (?), while I didn't enjoy the experience there in general it was still great to see them. Malcolm was there too . So, was Axl Rose just a stand in then? New track sounds just as you would expect from them, nothing bad/surprising/special.

News to me, what's it called?
Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip were the last two I really enjoyed. Didn't really like Black Ice. Rock or Bust was decent, the title track is a classic, up there with their best stuff in my opinion. Not mad about the sound on this, doesn't sound very ballsy, it's a bit tame sounding to me.
Come to think of it, I don't actually know anything post-The Razor's Edge (bar Stiff Upper Lip, which used to keep me company on the walk home from college in first year).
Might lash them up on Spotify tomorrow and see what's the buzz (or lack thereof).

Yeah, made it to punches town as well. Weather wasn't brilliant and the crowd seemed to be full of tools. But like you said, good to see the band doing their stuff.

Strangely enough it's the iron man 2 soundtrack. Even though some of the songs are deeper cuts so I suppose it's not a fully fledged greatest hits either.
Ah yeah, I wouldn't count that.
The Razor's Edge is pure essential. For those about to Rock a great effort too. I like Flick of the Switch, but yeah there's none of them chock a block quality like Dirty Deeds or Let there be Rock, just pure quality from start to finish them early albums.
Would love to see them love again. What an experience.

Brian Johnson on all fours, gaping and panting like a dog?
Gaping? Ooh soldier
Time to get an AC/DC best of post Back in Black playlist on the playlists thread methinks.
Landslide
Guns for Hire
Fly on the Wall
Mistress for Christmas
Must be about 50 or 60 quality tunes among those albums.

Just as well I didn't mention Angus Young reversing out of him with his delighted little Rumple Stiltskin noggin!

I was a good bit back, and in a crowd of fairweather fans. That's absolutely sound like (could you imagine gatekeeping a band FFS), but I was singing along with some of the Bon-era tunes and some slack-jawed knacker turns and asks "how do you know the words to those songs?". I dunno lad, because this isn't my first time hearing it?
I was sober at that gig. Painful. Full of gimps.

It was a weird day. On the (long) walk there from the bus there were plenty of people passed out at various points by the road..rock n roll!. Getting any beer was nearly impossible, as the crowd was so big and the beer pricey so I had make do with my spot with some mates and hangers on. People were making human towers and collapsing to the ground. Anyways..set list was what you’d want. Loads of albums I haven’t heard though, like ‘Flick of the switch’ and 'Fly on the wall', 'Blow up your video' etc.

Listening through here, jesus there's some awful ropey stuff alright. Fly on the Wall must be the worst produced record they ever did. There are actually some great songs on it but ruined by the vocal mix.
Definitely. Blow Up Your Video has a terrible mix too, but not quite as bad as Fly On The Wall. Both victims of cavernous 80's digital reverb. Some great songs on both though, along with a few stinkers.
Hope they come here on tour again, fingers crossed its not Slane though.

Isn't "Who Made Who" the same type of deal?
It's a compilation of old songs with one new song for the soundtrack of shite-but-enjoyable-shite "Maximum Overdrive".
I take back what I said about it, I'm enjoying it. The chorus sounded fairly average out of context on the teasers they released.
And of course, Johnson's voice is still savage, no surprise there!

The solo sounds good with a few tasty little bits at the end
Actually doesn't seem too bad when its cranked.
Razors edge tour in kings Hall, then donington 91 was immense.
And to think they couldn't sell tickets for ballbreaker tour in Belfast, so played a half empty point theatre. Thats pretty unbelievable thinking back.
The last gig in Dublin was very forgettable, and thats coming from a huge fan. Full of cock wombles, Brian was fucked, and the sound was so low u could barely hear it.
Heres hoping for a flick of the switch type album, with some dirty dirty riffs.
Solid ADCD tune, nothing very noteworthy but they are reliable as ever.

I got into AC/DC watching them on the Beatbox on RTE2 on a Sunday morning and bought thenalbum immediately. The videos, the tunes, what an album. Been listening to it again. I know every word of every song on it and I'd say I haven't listened properly in over 20 years. Played the tape to death. I'd say they were immense on that tour.
Yes Razors Edge and the subsequent live album were when the band got back into their stride after a forgettable enough mid to late 80s.
After that the quality did dip again but Black Ice was OK and the young lad likes their last one.
(Saying that I think that every album after Back in Black has a lot of filler.)
AC/DC Live was immense. Still have the double tape , had to break the tape box I had to fit it and Live after Death double tapes in  They probably haven't changed the setlist since and sure why would they?
If they play Ireland again, can any pricks that don't know at least 5 tracks (or have flashing devil horn hairbands) be banned?
Is it me or does the new song have something of a Ballbreaker era vibe going on?
Good song anyway.
Yeah, the production has a bit of a Ballbreaker sound to it. Ballbreaker is deadly, so fingers crossed.
It's a decent song. I've not really been impressed with any of their later material (really didn't like Black Ice) but this seems better overall.

Big AC/DC fan myself, fuckin love the Bonn Scott stuff, Riff Raff is still the best of their songs imo. classic.
Was at the Punchestown gig with my sister (she got the tickets for my birthday) and Ill never forget her asking me at one stage did I think would they play Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter.
Im still annoyed about it.

Bring Your Sister To The Slaughter
Power Up due November 13th.
Think the new tune is, like the stuff on the last couple of albums, a decent toe tapper, but nothing more. This might be the first AC/DC album in a long time that I don't buy on first day of release. Might just check it out on streaming sites and see if it is worth owning, as to be honest I've hardly listened to Rock or Bust.
That gig in Punchestown and the Guns N Roses one in the O2 were 2 of the oddest and close to all out riot gigs I've ever been to. I actually really enjoyed the atmosphere at the GNR one because in many ways it was all my childhood rebel fantasies, while listening to them rolled into one gig. The absolute nonchalance of Axl, I completely understand people were pissed off but on a selfish level I loved it.
The AC/DC one was a great gig, but the organisation, the rush for buses afterwards, it felt like someone, or quite a few people were going to get killed at one stage. Was glad to get the fuck out of the place by the end of it. A shitshow, but all worth it in retrospect when Angus suddenly appeared in the pissing rain during Thundstruck directly in front of me on the platform.that was ruining my view of the band all night. That 2-3 minute stint was enough. Amazing. What a showman, what a guitarist, so glad I spent all my youth listening to their dirty little Aussie pervy, pissed up lyrics.
We took ages finding our bus. Some people who were on our bus joined our search party at the end of the gig, but left when I said I was pretty sure it was in a certain direction, and walked off in the opposite direction. Stupid bastards cause we found the bus 5 minutes later.
Think every bus that day went back with less people than went there.
There was some crush there at the Dublin Bus pick up spot.
People kept packing in and the clowns in Dublin Bus were loading buses at the wrong point and driving past where they should have been loading .
There was one poor bastard of a security guard there on his own shouting on the radio to get buses down there but he was ignored.
got really fucking serious after about half an hour, there was women there getting taken off their feet and people starting to panic that they couldn't breath.
I'm a big cunt myself so my head was above it all and I could see what was going on. Meself and another few lads were telling the poor bastard security guard to do something fast. ( I've done security work myself, felt sorry for that lad, he was in a horrible position.) Eventually Meself and the lads threw the barriers out of the way and let people out.
someone was going to pass out and get trampled there, was a hairy situation.
fucking madness.

How great were/are this band. Pure aural jizz.
And the greatest piece of live footage ever caught on camera in the history of the world. The oxygen tank, the solo in the crowd, the frontman, the guitarist, tight as a gnat's bumhole, nuclear levels of energy. Rock n roll in its purest form.

:abbath:
New album..... wow, big acdc fan, but seriously, its not like the past few albums. Cliff and Phil on it big time, Brian sounding better than ever.
Sounding like flick of the switch era
Flip must give it a blast
Ordered the pic. disc vinyl and it arrived this morn. When I opened it it had a long white mark on 1 side, it's not a scratch, maybe a flaw in the pressing. Did anyone else have this problem. I emailed Golden Discs and they said to return it & they'll replace it.

That's a serious bit of entertainment right there! Fair play to all involved who managed to prevent the guitar cable from being unplugged when Angus was in the middle of the crowd.
Not a bad album at all in first listen, good for them.
loving it - very solid, short, to the point album. Their best out of the last couple of decades maybe even....
Listened to it twice so far. Really, really like it. As mentioned by someone already, the lads are locked in and Johnson's voice is great.
It might be the best sounding AC/DC album I've heard in a long while too.
Dean Delray did a few podcasts with the band last week or the week before. I've only listened to the Angus/Brian one. He took his podcast off Sticher/Spotify but it's still on Soundcloud and YouTube.
