I have 'For Grace or Damnation' on this morning. I haven't listened to this in a few years but it's a beaut. I think Graveyard Dirt are one of the most consistently strong bands from this country in all respects. The songwriting is always complex, atmospheric and memorable and their production values are always top notch and fitting for their style. They seem to be forever doomed to languish in the shadows here but that just makes them all the more special in a way. The last EP, 'My Scourge, My Plague', was fantastic so here's hoping they poke their heads out of the gloom with another recording and a gig or two before long. In terms of quality these dudes easily sit alongside Primordial and Mourning Beloveth in my opinion. Legends.

Their output is very sporadic, but always, ALWAYS, pure quality.
One of my all time favourite bands. Saw them live once and it was an intense experience.

I've seen them three or four times, I think. They are a ferocious live band.
Class band. Doesn't hurt that I have a serious weakness for this type of doom metal, but all their output is great.
Wore a GD tshirt to the last Opeth gig here and met one of them at the bar. Really a band that should be right up there on a European level.
They have the songs and the chops, they just seem to have been unlucky in terms of being stuck on tiny labels with zero profile. There may well be other factors at play, like family and job commitments of course, and ultimately, whether they gain wider recognition or not the quality of their music speaks for itself so as long as they manage to release new EPs and albums from time to time I'll be happy.
Great band. Can't wait to see them live again some time, when all this nonsense blows over.
I've not seen Kieran in a long time. He used to be up in Dublin regularly.
Great band, and the demo and album I have made a big impression on me. I wasn't sure about the vocals initially (you can hear the Donegal quite clearly) but they grew on me to the point that they became the element that made the band stand out so much. One of the most pleasant lads you could meet as well.
The vocals on the demo are so out of key it's unlisetenable for me.
It's a pity because the music is quite good.
He's not John Arch or Rob Lowe, but they are so heartfelt and genuine. A unique take on that style of doom vocal.

'Shadows of Old Ghosts' on here now. Such fantastic ssongwriting. I would like to see 'My Scourge, My Plague' get a vinyl release at some point. Some new merch would be welcome while they're at it 8)

I was sorry to hear of the death of David in the past few days. He was a gentleman on any occasion I met him and a true talent. The music he made will live on, and it's fair to say that Graveyard Dirt have written some sublime and timeless songs over the past few decades. I wonder what this means for the band. A quick glance at their Facebook page tells me they have an album written. Was he still a member when he died or was he out of the band? Didn't he leave and return some years ago, or maybe I'm making that up...
I think a GD binge is well overdue.
