Title: Autumn festivals
Post by: Snare on January 31, 2020, 12:31:03 AM
A bunch of us Corkonians are trying to organise a trip abroad for the autumn, taking in a gig or part of a festival along the way, somewhere easily accessible from Ireland. Any experience for suggestions for the latter end of 2020? Sound job feen/beuer!

Depends on what you're into, I suppose. The year before last a few of us went to Keep It Low Munich, an indoor festival held in October.

I can't recommend it highly enough - great venue, excellent bands, very reasonable beer prices (€3ish for Augustiner in a 500ml glass bottle, no less), tasty food stalls, guitar pedal stalls etc. and all within a quick U-Bahn ride of the city centre.

You can fly from Cork through Amsterdam to Munich with KLM for a very reasonable price. I do it all the time for work. Beats the shit out of the Aircoach and then hanging around for a flight to Munich.

Motel One is a good chain of hotels to use in most of Germany too.

Here's the line up from the year that we went;

Ah thanks for that. UK Deathfest has been selected now for August so no more suggestions needed, thanks.

You start a thread for a festival trip abroad and plump for the UK...  :laugh:
