Anybody heading to either of these? I'm somewhat interested, but I can't imagine what it will be like. I can see it being either a fantastic atmospheric set, or really uninteresting.

Anyone seen Mortiis before?

I was interested also, but read a review recently that said he may as well have pressed play on the laptop then fecked off. Didnt fill me with hope.

It looks like it'll be something like this. There's more going on than just a laptop playing music. Can see it being good fun with a few drinks in me. Not sure how seriously people take the music.

Think this will be a good show or at least a bit strange. Curious to see how Dungeon synth works in a live setting

I saw him doing one of the early albums in Finland in May. I really enjoyed it but had a bellyful of beer and it was the end of a days festivities. There wasn't much "live " activity. Just himself up behind a big computer/decks. But if you like the early stuff I'd say it's worthwhile going and making a night of it. Might be a bit boring standing there sober.

Was thinking about taking some trips at this to add a little atmosphere but the thought of tripping in Fibbers is making me feel claustrophobic already

So any feedback on the Belfast gig? Am wondering about heading to fibbers tonight. Would Mortis be happy if I stood at the back shouting for an ambient troll rock remix of I am the Black Wizards?

I have mixed feelings about it. It kinda felt like one big long intro track which never kicked in. Imagine listening to "Into the Infinity of Thoughts" by Emperor but turning it off as the intro finishes and the song is about to kick in. Or listening to the first track from Nordland, but never listening to the actual song "Nordland" itself. The whole gig felt like the intro music for a band coming on stage, or the quiet part of a song everyone talks over. The music itself wasn't bad though. I'm also to blame because I guess it just isn't my kind of thing.

I would go if I knew I could get Emperor stuff signed. No interest in his own stuff at all.
